What the hell is amusing about it? If you're a tourist visiting a new country you don't frequent often you want to take pictures in order remember things. Those who are whinging because of the number of tourists that go to the games are clearly those from the outside of the city and OOT where they can't enjoy the benefits from the local tourism industry. It's quite clear that the city of manchester want the tourists + locals to go to the games instead of one who drives up from London and goes back the same evening without leaving a cent to anyone in the local community.

He just told you what he knows.

Why do you get mad?

His description was bang on, if that makes it a stereotype, then maybe they should put away their fecking cameras once in a while. It's a stereotype of an Asian tourist.

Why is it ok for edmund to slag off scousers (who he only knows about from what he reads on a Man Utd forum) with the usual theiving, granny stabbing shite yet mention asians at ot taking pictures(which is the truth btw)and he goes off? pot kettle black if you ask me.
if you cant take it dont dish it out.

shit...what the feck?
What's the problem with you guys...constipation?
I knew i was wrong and i apologised to Davo...ok kind of apologised...but there is the effort.
Davo didnt make a fuss about it, why the hell are you guys so uptight with it.
I could have answered the Asian tourist stereotype with a stereotype of tourist from your parts of the world over in my country but i chose not to cos that will just annoy more ppl...probably anyway.
After years maligned and misunderstood in the eyes of the western media, you'd be a tad sensitive too to comments about your culture or race.
And you say what i know of dippers is from the forum so where does your knowledge of mancs from huh? and where does your knowledge of chinese from?

I come from liverpool originally and have worked in manchester. Dont know much about chinese in particular apart from my martial arts training, but every asian tourist you see seems to spend an inordinate amount of time taking or posing for photographs.
So why do you come down on us 'dippers' so hard when all you know about us is from the rather biased perspective of a Man Utd forum. It doesent bother me too much when mancs do it, but when know feck all wanabes like you and lchk start it just makes me want to puke ok!

I think back to when I was a kid going to my first game with my dad, the excitement of it all, the smell of hot dog stalls as you walked through the streets to the ground, big scary men that swore a lot. Even now I cant remember the game, just the atmosphere and standing in awe of the crowd singing their heads off.
And then there was the first game I went to on my own, went in the boys pen, shitting myself I was. The boys pen was a scary place back then, all the regulars had their own spots and you got your arse kicked if you stood in 'their place'.
Then there was spending every penny of your paper round money to go the match, the first away game(shitting myself again), the footy special, all part of being a supporter and earning the right to call yourself a supporter. How all these people who have never even been to their home ground can even begin to know what it is like to REALLY support your club is beyond me. What did someone on here say the other day? "I think it was because they looked good on the telly" sums it all up really.
Bastards, starting to feel homesick now after that.

Redinoz complains about scousers getting abused on a United site! If scousers don't get abused here where do they?

I lived in Birkenhead from 1968 to 1978 and went to school in Liverpool. In 1968 I remember someone doing a survey of who supported which clubs. 32 in the class - Liverpool 15, Everton 15, United 1, Not interested in football 1. I got a lot of shit, especially when we faded rapidly and battled relegation. Thank god I left school before we went down!

I wonder what the survey results would be now. I doubt if Everton have had the same support as Liverpool among eleven year olds over the past 25 years (except during their glory period in the mid eighties).

<img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

So what you said is abusing a scousers here is a no-no situation in a Man Utd forum whilst you can use such term "cockheads" against other united fans?

Ok so according to you even if pool supporters from anywhere other than Liverpool come down hard on mancs they are also know feck all wannabes is that is... dim wit twat!
I dont see you making a fuss about Irish pool fans or welsh or scottish or americans slagging of scousers? This proves you're a hypocritical and biased bastard cos "it makes you sick" when an Asian fan slags off pool fans yet foreign fans from other regions do not.
Proves just what kind of man you are

meant to say Irish United fans etc.

You admit you dont know anything about the people in Malaysia let alone United supporters here. Fans here are as passionate about United as any Mancs in England...want proof...ask Giggsy or Keano or anyone about what they think of the fans in Malaysia...Ask them what kind of reception they got when they played in Malaysia during the Asian tour...just ask them if we were any less passionate about the team.
You said i dont know what i'm talking about...well so do you!

And what's eating you, Davo didnt have any problems. Why are you coming at me all guns firing?

I think his "TAI YEE MAH" came!

And redinoz btw...what wrong with choosing to support this team becos they looked good? I didnt mean their players looked good...i mean they played good, attractive football that looked good.
I was attracted to United's football and spirit....whats wrong with that...i also liked United's colour...red, white, black.
So...you're wrong again

I agree <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
But i think more like "Tai Yee Cheong"
:D

It has got nothing to do with wether you are asians or not, I had the same argument with an aussie called beckham007 who used to spout the same shit that you do. the point is why do you think that the more you come accross as hating scousers the more you will be accepted as a 'true' Man Utd supporter?
It seems to be the way on here that the people who know the least about scousers, and are the most likely to get stick from proper mancs for being glory boys, are the most verbaly abusive towards them. Smacks of insecurity to me.
As I said you cannot comprehend what it is like to support your local club, and I suppose I should not expect you to really.

Never <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Yeah, Brisbane strikers, been a few times, but just cant gather any enthusiasm for them.

I edited cos it was meant to be a question. I have been out of Oz for a few months now but I thought that the Strikers were kicked out or folded or something.

What shit is it that you are referring to?
When did i come across as an extreme scouse hater?
I admit i know little about scousers, but i'd never got any stick from propers mancs being a glory boy.
Feel very secure...i'm not a hardcore United fans but certainly not a glory fan.
Who said i cant comprehend...i used to support my local team which is Selangor...not that you know...which are a great team until the quality of football in my coutry just plummeted.Players are more in it for the money than anything else.Theres no love for the club or the fans, no desire....its all not worth the support we give them when they give shite on the pitch...its ok that they are shite players but their attitude is also shite and thats why i stopped supporting them...so you're wrong again redinoz

why?, aren't you suppose to support them even though you can't gather enough enthusiasm for them? they are your local club now isn't it?
And don't bringing the u-was-born-there-thing-so-u-support-them.

So you are angry at asian people for slagging liverpool fans because they know nothing about the EPL or such and if they do, they are trying to convince people that they are not Glory Fans?

Whilst, you can condemn asian people because you claims to be born in england now living in aussie and yet you also support an english team and not consider yourself as Glory Fan?

I'm kind of confused here, can anyone enlighten me about this Glory Fans thing?

Hard to say. The Crocs have filled every game since they formed (bar 1 I think) even when they were crap. The Cowboys were very well attended from all over NQ for the first few years but their relentless crapness has finally seen crowds dwindle. Truth be told the reduced crowds they have had over the last couple of years have been bolstered by the club giving many hundreds of tickets away for ever game. Now that they have been bought out we might see some changes in the right direction.

Townsville has very high participation levels in amateur football so this should stand any new club in good stead but they would need to do well within 2/3 years of stting up IMO.

No use mate...because he was born in Liverpool or supported Liverpool when he was a kid...meaning he's immune to being a glory fans.
We start supporting United anywhere after 92-93 and automatically we are glory fans....its the sad truth. We are expected to start following a team only when they are in the dumps like choosing to support Massive City from now...that we are free from the tag of glory fans.
If you happen to start following a team when they are successful then you are a glory fan...its in the dictionary for them

Is the participation level good just at junior level or adults as well?
I coach juniors and the participation level is huge (much higher than league or union) but as they get older, &gt;13, they seem to go to other codes.

I get the impression that Redinoz has been a Liverpool fan for 20 plus years. Which includes the glory years but also includes the lean times. How does this create any confusion as to his loyalties? The essence of a glory fan is that they are in it for the glory i.e. you switch the club you support according to eho is winning at the moment. In other words a true glory fan would have been a pool supporter in the 80's, a United fan in the 90's and would be considering switching to the Gonners at the moment.

You would be because you dont know the first thing about supporting your team. other than watching them on the box, believe me there is a huge difference.

Townsville is much the same. Partly due to the cluless nature of the organisations that run youth soccer. Think Soccer Australia with a lobotomy. The other big factor is thatnthere is nowhere to go with football. Rugby and basketball both have opportunities to progress towards proffesional status.
