Glazers / Woodward out! (One down)

3. The Glazers bleed us dry for another decade, relying on increasing tv rights to maintain their dividends, and finally leave after selling us in a fire sale once we're in the second division and have no decent players. We fall so far behind our rivals that even wealthy new owners can't afford to invest the type of initial outlay (even if they could break FFP...like City) required to return us to where we once were. We become mediocre, perpetually.

What I find very strange is that they have a £4b asset on their hands and yet they are clinging on for dividends which are absolutely inconsequential in comparison. They would make more money from the interest on the funds gained from selling the club. I have to think that they believe there is going to be another wave of inflation that will take the clubs value notably higher which just does not seem realistic to me.

It all seems very strange to me, their motives just don't make sense even financially speaking. They brought a club at the perfect time without having to spend any of their own money, almost immediately after they brought the club TV revenues skyrocketed to unprecedented levels resulting in the clubs value multiplying nearly tenfold. They even managed to see huge success under their ownership thanks to Sir Alex.

They literally have the winning lottery ticket and they continue to sit on it despite the total disdain it inspires. Weirdos, ugly weirdos.

It's really sad, have thought about it quite a lot and don't see a single solution that doesn't involve us falling possibly to a level we can't claw back from given how we've lost our competitive advantage.

The way I see it is that there are 3 possibilities:
1. The Glazers are incentivised to invest in the team, the stadium and so on. For this to be the case, there needs to be a positive return to that investment. From their point of view, they are paid a dividend every year, which is just about guaranteed. The less they spend on transfers, the more solid their dividend is. So cash flow wise, it's a tough one. The only other way is to increase the value of the club - but that only helps if they plan to sell it.

2. The Glazers are exited in the short term - <2 years. This is the optimal solution. We keep most of the playing staff, coaching staff, brand and prestige, but through some miracle get new owners who care about the club. But I see no way it happens.

3. The Glazers bleed us dry for another decade, relying on increasing tv rights to maintain their dividends, and finally leave after selling us in a fire sale once we're in the second division and have no decent players. It really is that simple, and everything I've seen from the Glazers suggests that we'll see option 3.

Fans would have to accept ownership by a Saudi/Chinese/ANother . This brings a new set of issues.

Just a really, really sad performance tonight. I feel like absolute shit at how poor we have become from top to bottom. Our club just pretends to be a big club when in fact we are a joke.

The club I supported from a little boy, watching us re-build the empire has crumbled to the ground and there’s no positives bar a few young players.

How the board, Woodward and those fecking cnuts The Glazers can let this happen is heart breaking. That leeching American cnut of a family have ripped the soul out of the club, fronted by an absolute shit stain of a man in Woodward. It’s rotten to the core.

Top four is gone. We are all supporting a club where the owners couldn’t care less if we win trophies or not. They're not even arsed if we even challenge or not. So sad and can’t see myself attending anymore matches until the cnuts are gone. I’d rather protest outside the ground pre-match then feck off on the tram.

Well said bud. We seriously need to make our voices heard. This can’t continue. I don’t care about the ‘so called plan’. they’ve had their chance. It’s time to go.

breaks my heart that Bobby and SAF have to sit there and listen to the shite Ed and board go on about whilst they've destroyed everything the both of them have grown.

Even if we were lucky enough to get new owners this will take years to fix. majority of this squad who have been here for years need to leave for their own mental sake.

We need season ticket holders to protest. Mass walk outs. No shows. A few games of not going is better than this continuing.

What an absolute disgrace for any self styled 'big club'.

Any CEO of the other giants on the continent would've been shown the door with ease long ago with a record as futile as that...

Anyone know any daring City fans (or non-United fans who live local)? Get them some balaklavas and get them to storm the pitch during the next home game with Woodward Out and Glazers Out banners. Make sure the cameras see. Non-United fans so it won't make a difference to them if the club bans them.

Im sure they are all happy with Woodward and the Glazers. Why would they help

I'm sure people have some good mates who are a bit wild and aren't United fans. There's always the option of an financial incentive too.

Good luck finding any City fans who want the Glazers and Woodward gone.

If I was an oppo fan, no amount of money is going to make me help

Seriously? For the right price, I would do it with a banner telling Mike Ashley (for example) to get his fat arse out of Newcastle.
Nope Id rather sit and laugh at Newcastle fans

Anyone out there rich enough to buy the club? A group of rich people even? We need to feck off the owners or else the club is done - no more leagues or champions leagues for the forseeable future (next 20 years or so minimum).

I have such an admiration for how Liverpool fans unified to save their club from the poisonous ownership of Hicks/Gillette, and how they were also patient and supportive behind Klopp.

Hicks and Gillett cannibalized each other. While I understand it's a nice narrative to say that the fans unified to save Liverpool from their ownership, if those two idiots could co-exist with each other and their finances were as healthy as the Glazers are here, they'd still be in charge of that club.

It's possible that the Saudis will purchase the club in the summer. Perhaps that's why there's a lack of bother or investment?

Doubt it. This story just like the DOF one is prob out there to appease fans. Straight out of the Mike Ashley hand book

Does anybody else feel that United have some serious financial/cashflow problems that we aren't aware of? That's the only logical reason I can think of (not signing anyone) when it is so patently obvious that we need fresh players in the squad.

This whole schtick about them changing transfer policy doesn't sit well with me.

If we had McT and Rashford fit, we would have won both the Burnley and Liverpool matches.
And neither are at the level of Keane and Ruud.

The point is the owners did not invest in the summer.
We have 9 days to bring in Bruno, Bellingham and a striker.
Even if this happens we would still be paper thin because the injured players are unlikely to come back before season end.

I'm not absolving Ole of mistakes. But if he and the players are at fault, the owners are 10 times as guilty.

Lots of mention about why we did not start Greenwood. We have two important Cup matches Sunday and Wednesday.

I'm not hopeful tbh.

EDIT:

If Ole was sacked and Poch or someone else is approached, they would expect serious investments.

Please make a thread on this. I’ve been thinking the same. I’d like to know from any posters who have insight into our csdhflow and P&L: especially with regards to things like staggered payment of transfer fees etc.

i just think no one knows , trusts or cares about ole to play under him

its that simple

A banner that you’d probably not get into the stadium?
Inside the ground is so controlled.
Instead of going home early a mass group of fans staying and chanting anti Glazer sentiment would be far more effective. But it’s all been done before with Green and Gold. It won’t work, they don’t care.

That is definitely contributing to the problem but I don't agree with placing a large portion of the blame on Ole. Give Klopp these players and squad and he'd be struggling big time.
But do you think Klopp would make better use of the £150m we spent in the summer? If the answer is yes, then we would have a better more balanced squad right now.

It's really hard to say... But if you've got to contend with Woodward and Judge, you'd struggle to bring in the players you want.

It’s been shown time and time again this season the team is behind Ole. Effort isn’t the problem, there’s just zero effective coaching happening, it’s all hit and hope.
Go back and watch the team at the end of Jose’ reign, there was a lot of players who simply didn’t care.

i agree...show me the progression , show me players getting better , performances getting better , show me something ..we look lifeless , uninspired and devoid of any ideas....that is all down to a manager who is now in his 3rd transfer window

im not even going to bring up how a stress fracture was missed , but it shows a real amateurish side to all facets of the football club right now and ole is front and centre

I said at the time that if we're gonna only sign 3 players then spend the whole budget on midfield and attack. I saw this car crash of a season coming with how we wasted funds in the summer.

Wonder how long it will take for people to warm to the idea of a Saudi takeover, I'd take them murderers over these thieves any day. Least we will get the revenue that's pumped in annually. Absolute crook's in charge, still people buy merchandise ect.

i saw this coming when ole was 1st appointed based on a win in paris

hope neville and rio feel damm stupid now...fancy signing him to a long term deal when no one , i repeat no one was chasing him

but hes just 1 of many many problems

What's wrong with pre and post match, and not ruining it for those who actually want to go and support the team, or are you one of those that go cruising around town centres with the roof down blaring out music(if you can call it that), and if people don't like it it's tough tits?
Your analogy makes no flipping sense of whatsoever. Thankfully, the fans showed their opinion yesterday. This will continue and rightfully so.

Direct all your anger. All your frustration at the board and Woodward. Every. Single. Match. Ole didnt hire himself.
