3. The Glazers bleed us dry for another decade, relying on increasing tv rights to maintain their dividends, and finally leave after selling us in a fire sale once we're in the second division and have no decent players. We fall so far behind our rivals that even wealthy new owners can't afford to invest the type of initial outlay (even if they could break FFP...like City) required to return us to where we once were. We become mediocre, perpetually.
It's really sad, have thought about it quite a lot and don't see a single solution that doesn't involve us falling possibly to a level we can't claw back from given how we've lost our competitive advantage.
The way I see it is that there are 3 possibilities:
1. The Glazers are incentivised to invest in the team, the stadium and so on. For this to be the case, there needs to be a positive return to that investment. From their point of view, they are paid a dividend every year, which is just about guaranteed. The less they spend on transfers, the more solid their dividend is. So cash flow wise, it's a tough one. The only other way is to increase the value of the club - but that only helps if they plan to sell it.
2. The Glazers are exited in the short term - <2 years. This is the optimal solution. We keep most of the playing staff, coaching staff, brand and prestige, but through some miracle get new owners who care about the club. But I see no way it happens.

It really is that simple, and everything I've seen from the Glazers suggests that we'll see option 3.
Just a really, really sad performance tonight. I feel like absolute shit at how poor we have become from top to bottom. Our club just pretends to be a big club when in fact we are a joke.
The club I supported from a little boy, watching us re-build the empire has crumbled to the ground and there’s no positives bar a few young players.
How the board, Woodward and those fecking cnuts The Glazers can let this happen is heart breaking. That leeching American cnut of a family have ripped the soul out of the club, fronted by an absolute shit stain of a man in Woodward. It’s rotten to the core.
Top four is gone. We are all supporting a club where the owners couldn’t care less if we win trophies or not. They're not even arsed if we even challenge or not. So sad and can’t see myself attending anymore matches until the cnuts are gone. I’d rather protest outside the ground pre-match then feck off on the tram.
Im sure they are all happy with Woodward and the Glazers. Why would they helpAnyone know any daring City fans (or non-United fans who live local)? Get them some balaklavas and get them to storm the pitch during the next home game with Woodward Out and Glazers Out banners. Make sure the cameras see. Non-United fans so it won't make a difference to them if the club bans them.
I'm sure people have some good mates who are a bit wild and aren't United fans. There's always the option of an financial incentive too.Im sure they are all happy with Woodward and the Glazers. Why would they help
Good luck finding any City fans who want the Glazers and Woodward gone.Anyone know any daring City fans (or non-United fans who live local)? If I was an oppo fan, no amount of money is going to make me helpI'm sure people have some good wild mates who aren't United fans. There's always the option of an financial incentive too.
Seriously? For the right price, I would do it with a banner telling Mike Ashley (for example) to get his fat arse out of Newcastle. If I was an oppo fan, no amount of money is going to make me help
Nope Id rather sit and laugh at Newcastle fansSeriously? For the right price, I would do it with a banner telling Mike Ashley (for example) to get his fat arse out of Newcastle.
Mean.Nope Id rather sit and laugh at Newcastle fans
600 millions down the drain
as Phillip Jones and Lingard start again
I have such an admiration for how Liverpool fans unified to save their club from the poisonous ownership of Hicks/Gillette, and how they were also patient and supportive behind Klopp.
It's possible that the Saudis will purchase the club in the summer. Perhaps that's why there's a lack of bother or investment?Anyone out there rich enough to buy the club? A group of rich people even? We need to feck off the owners or else the club is done - no more leagues or champions leagues for the forseeable future (next 20 years or so minimum).
Doubt it. This story just like the DOF one is prob out there to appease fans. Straight out of the Mike Ashley hand bookIt's possible that the Saudis will purchase the club in the summer. Perhaps that's why there's a lack of bother or investment?
Please make a thread on this. I’ve been thinking the same. I’d like to know from any posters who have insight into our csdhflow and P&L: especially with regards to things like staggered payment of transfer fees etc.Does anybody else feel that United have some serious financial/cashflow problems that we aren't aware of? That's the only logical reason I can think of (not signing anyone) when it is so patently obvious that we need fresh players in the squad.
This whole schtick about them changing transfer policy doesn't sit well with me.

its that simple

But do you think Klopp would make better use of the £150m we spent in the summer? If the answer is yes, then we would have a better more balanced squad right now. That is definitely contributing to the problem but I don't agree with placing a large portion of the blame on Ole. Give Klopp these players and squad and he'd be struggling big time.

i agree...show me the progression , show me players getting better , performances getting better , show me something ..we look lifeless , uninspired and devoid of any ideas....that is all down to a manager who is now in his 3rd transfer windowBut do you think Klopp would make better use of the £150m we spent in the summer? I said at the time that if we're gonna only sign 3 players then spend the whole budget on midfield and attack. I saw this car crash of a season coming with how we wasted funds in the summer.i agree...show me the progression , show me players getting better , performances getting better , show me something ..we look lifeless , uninspired and devoid of any ideas....that is all down to a manager who is now in his 3rd transfer window
im not even going to bring up how a stress fracture was missed , but it shows a real amateurish side to all facets of the football club right now and ole is front and centre
It's really hard to say... But if you've got to contend with Woodward and Judge, you'd struggle to bring in the players you want.
i saw this coming when ole was 1st appointed based on a win in parisI said at the time that if we're gonna only sign 3 players then spend the whole budget on midfield and attack. I saw this car crash of a season coming with how we wasted funds in the summer.
Your analogy makes no flipping sense of whatsoever. Thankfully, the fans showed their opinion yesterday. This will continue and rightfully so.What's wrong with pre and post match, and not ruining it for those who actually want to go and support the team, or are you one of those that go cruising around town centres with the roof down blaring out music(if you can call it that), and if people don't like it it's tough tits?
