Music Glastonbury 2023

They are borderline Spinal Tap territory now.

Very weird setup because they’re not even playing what I’d consider the better songs for a live performance off of that album, yet all their older hits are played at such a slow tempo and the lyrics songs so off best to how they sound on the record that they’re almost different songs entirely.

All for bands branching out and trying new sounds, just think there’s no need to go back and apply it retrospectively to their previous work.

Agree. Festivals look my worst nightmare but I’d give so much to be in that crowd tonight.

I find that you have to be in a 'sweet spot' when at festivals. If you're too far removed from the crowd, the atmosphere can be quite shit and you start losing that buzz. If you're somewhere in the middle/first third of the crowd, you'll have an amazing time.

That's if you're not under a tent or marquee, in which case that place is usually full of the hardcore. The smaller marquee/tents at festivals can be fecking brilliant.

This Elton John gig looks like so much fun. A mate wanted to get tickets this year but I never got it together. So many great performances I'm raging I didn't get the finger out .

Queens of the stone age should have been on Friday night instead of the Arctic Monkeys.
Apparently they couldn’t get anyone big to headline the other stage while Elton was on so the Queens said ‘feck it, we’ll do it’. It was their choice

It's been a good one.

Banger after banger after banger. What a show this has been.

He's much better than I thought he'd be. Most people's voices go completely when they hit their sixties and whilst he's by no means near his peak it's definitely passable and worth listening to.

This is the best live band on the planet right now. Incredibly tight.

Amazing what adrenaline can do, Axl the same last night, got stronger as he went on.

Thinking of just getting a ticket on my lonesome next year.

That sounds like them to be fair!

That's why I love them. No bullshit. Just play some rock music hard as feck

What were you doing at his house?
What the feck?

What's the backstory here? Spill the feckin beans

It's nothing glamorous

My first job, whilst I was training to do other things, I worked at his house building the storage in his garage for his paintings. He came and chatted with us, took drinks orders and came back in with teas and biscuits a couple of times.
