German football is turd

Leipzig are terrible right now. 1 win from 5 in the league.

Why that league has 4 CL spots I will never know. Should just be two so dross like this doesn't just make it through.

I mean, seriously, Leipzig got destroyed by a team whose home stadium is in an active warzone. They didn't just lose, they got wrecked.

Seeing as football is a game where the favorite wins every single time, it is very surprising to see a team not win that you would expect to win. Some anomaly that.
Not sure what point you're trying to make here.

That "dross" was in the EL semifinal last season and CL semifinal before that. They are just in a heavy crisis, that's all.

I like to shit on the Bundesliga as much as I can but that result tonight means nothing.

This is the stupidest thread on here, and there is so many of them. OP should feel honoured.

It’s based on coefficients, which are based on reality, not on some made up subjective impression from casual occasional observers like the people in here.

Should we shock them by telling that there are actually five CL starters from Germany this season? The 11th placed club (last season) from the Bundesliga qualified to play in the CL because none of the mighty world beaters like Barcelona or West Ham (who even play in the mythical Premier League, a level no German club can ever aspire to play on) couldn't stop them

Do you even know the country the team that destroyed Chelsea tonight plays for?
I doubt we can get 5 people who can mention 5 players who have played for Dinamo Zagreb in the past 2 decades

Don't forget to include that Frankfurt (11th in the unworthy Bundesliga) beat West Ham (7th in the great EPL) home and away

Kovačić, Modrić, Brozović, Lovren and Mandžukić, there you go. ;)

But I see your point, stupid thread, Eintracht won the EL and Borussia beat Copenhagen yesterday.

I can tell you why. The reason behind it is quite factual and has nothing to do with skewed or preconceived opinions.

Germany was 4th in the league coefficients ranking and slowly but steadily overtook Serie A at a time when there was still a difference between the 4th placed league and the 3rd placed league in terms of available CL slots. The Bundesliga’s teams did so without money injections by billionaire owners and earned that 4th CL slot with performances.

At the time of the Bayern vs Inter CL final in 2010 there was even the situation that Germany would’ve only needed to have got 1 more point in Europe through any German team from the previous 5 seasons to get a 4th CL spot in the next season. But lacking that singular draw from the last 35 European campaigns (5 years x 7 Teams) kept the Bundesliga at 3 CL spots for another year. The following season the Bundesliga overtook Serie A. Now La Liga, PL, and Bundesliga were on 4 CL spots each based on results they had accumulated over the previous 5 European seasons. Serie A was down to 3 CL spots at a time where the league was in a bit of a crisis one might say.

Subsequently UEFA decided that missing out on a club from Italy or Germany is stupid so they changed the system. Eventually the 4 best leagues received 4 CL slots without having to go through any qualifying rounds. Whether this is right or wrong, as it takes a slot away from the other leagues, everyone can decide for themselves. At that time it was Serie A who gained from it though.

So that’s how that happened. If you mainly would like to see all the most stacked and richest clubs to be present in the CL with the lower leagues receiving less CL spots, then why don’t you support the concept of the European Super League or even a competition concept where only clubs owned by billionaires would be allowed. That would guarantee a nice Premier League + 3-4 big clubs event, so would perhaps make you happier. Feck the other hundreds of millions of European football fans, right? Like the fans in Eastern Europe that barely even get to see CL football in a stadium anymore because the billionaire clubs have inflated the market so much that it’s centered entirely around how much they’re able to chip in from their own pockets and how much the average mid table PL team is able to spend.

Do you even know the country Chelsea’s manager is from? Why is he getting destroyed by Zagreb after spending a billion pounds in the last 15 months?

They had to resort to a manager from that country after looking at when a manager from their own country last was successful either in their own league or in Europe. The league with by far the richest teams in the world, so you’d expect the home grown managers to have a field day.

English managers are turd though, if you created a thread with that title everyone would agree and no one would be getting defensive about it.

Did I google that correctly?
Wasn’t so easy to figure out as I had to scroll quite a bit to find anything. 1991 for PL, 1984 for CL were the last seasons English managers won either of these two competitions. 3-4 decades ago

Meh, getting defensive about it. This thread is like Jaden Smith trying to shame the son of Chris Rock about not being rich enough while sitting in a public school classroom.

:nono: Graham Potter is a god and Frank Lampard is his son.

Yeah. PL hasn't been won by an English manager.

Shaktar Donetsk > Dinamo Zagreb

What is Eintracht status in the Bundesliga? its an Aston Villa, a West Ham?
(Upper) Midtable team that occasionally has a great cup run (like last season in the EL). Your comparisons sound about right.

Pretty much, gotten closer to the top 6 in a few of the last years, finishing 5th once. But wouldn´t surprise anybody if they finish mid-table.

Franfkurt are suffering inexperience. In the Champions League nobody gives you anything, they were the better team for most of the game but SCP was very clinical and scored 3 goals from 4 chances created.

Let's not forget SCP eliminated also Dortmund last season, it's not they're a mediocre team..

Hmm maybe there's a pattern in there somewhere :D

Last 10 season league positions
11th 5th 9th 7th 8th 11th, 16th 9th 13th 6th

The fans are just happy to play any type of European football

Being my club we are talking about I can assure you we are way weaker this season than the last 2.

We lost 3 starters on the team,Pablo Sarabia who was on loan from PSG, Palhinha sold to Fulham and Matheus Nunes sold to Wolves.

Start of the season we had a 3:3 draw at Braga, lost 3:0 at Porto and lost 2:0 at home with a promoted team, Chaves.

So yeah, I guess we can say we don’t expect that much from this season, won’t take conclusions from this game because European football is way different than the domestic league.

Can we just admit that you’re angry at Leipzig based entirely on the fact they signed Sesko and we didn’t?

Whats wrong with them? Thought they were much better when i watched a game some months ago.
BVB?
they weren't really great to be honest, were a one man team most of the last season and bundled up their cl group which says it all.

Tedesco - sacked today
Tuchel - sacked today
Klopp - getting humiliated as we speak

I don't know what inspired this thread to begin with, but it's been a tough week for German managers.

Remember when Haaland and Lewandowski were only scoring for fun because the Bundesliga was so weak? They’re scoring for fun in the PL/La Liga and CL so far.
