Leipzig should drop off for losing Werner and Schick, but because of Nagelsmann and how well he managed such situations at Hoffenheim, I'd give them some outside chance to get to something like 80 points. Leverkusen need to sign a couple of players before we can take them seriously again. Gladbach don't have the depth to challenge for the title, especially not with the extra packed schedule we got this season and them playing CL for the first time in a couple of years, they can beat Dortmund today and as last season showed even Bayern, but over the course of 34 games they will drop points every know and then that Bayern or Dortmund won't.

Your league is shite. Nobody gives a rats about the Bundesliga other than Germans. The PL is watched all over the globe and for a good reason.
Schalke was probably not the biggest test for this Bayern side but I have no doubt they will win the season by like 20 points. Kimmich was by the way absolute ace yesterday, how fast he made the transition from defense to offense with his precise long passes was pretty amazing to watch. We need someone like that in our team.

Yes, the Bundesliga has been a one-horse-race since 2012/13, but so are many other European Leagues.
Serie A is a one-horse race. Juve has been champions 9 times in a row (longest streak in Europe).
Ligue1 is a one horse race. PSG have been champions 7 of the last 8 years.
La Liga is a only a bit better by being a two horse race, where Real/Barca won 15 of the last 16 league titles.
The Primeira Division is also only a two horse race, since Porto/Benfica won the last 17 league titles.
Eredivisie is dominated by only two teams in Ajax/Eindhoven, too (8 of the last 9 titles).
The gap between the big clubs/CL participants and the rest is just getting bigger and bigger, since the big money is made in the CL. Really the only way to break that circle is by allowing your club to get purchased by a sugar daddy.
That's the only reason why the Premier League is the most "competitive" big league btw: Almost every team gets backed by some kind of sugar daddy in addition to the already insane TV money.
All those leagues will have to re-think their current state. If this goes for another decade or so, a Superleague system will really be the only realistic approach.

I agree with all this. No one is really blaming Bayern for it, the other teams, or at least the other notable big teams have just reached the point where its not just about the desire to keep their top players to be competitive, they just lack the financial resources to manage that. I think their insistence in stifling foreign ownership and investment is hurting the other teams and the league more than they care to admit.

I've outlined above, that basically every major European league (sans the Premier League) has been a one-horse or two-horse-race this past decade.
Real and Barca are hammering about 2/3 of their league as well. They're only "training" most of the time according to your definition, too, as are PSG and Juve.
Heck, Liverpool and City getting around 100 points each of the past two seasons is also quite telling. Both those teams actually toyed with the Premier League, too.
It happens, when you have a true superteam - like Bayern/Real/Barca this past decade or Pool/City those last two years - in your league. Problem is that the other teams in Germany/Italy/France/Spain don't have the financial power to actually close the gap to the big dogs.

Can I just say that I find it hilarious how German posters on here have gotten the reputation of being thin skinned and bitter and then you have the last three pages of the sole thead dedicated to the Bundesliga filled with posters (some of them not even having watched the game) just coming in to shit on the league based on some nonsensical arguments like calling Schalke a big club.

Well the start was 8-0 for the champs and they won it for the last what 8 years in a row... No other league can boast of so much suspense. No other league offers anything close too this domination. There have been seasons when they already won it in December.
If Dortmund hold on to Sancho I would love to see how they develop this season. I think the biggest X factor for them will be Haaland, the completeness of the team from back to front is something we haven't seen since the 15/16 season for me.
Every season they have had great players but always something missing from a certain area. Losing Hummels, Gundogan and Mhikitariyan in one window is something I don't think they really recovered from, until now, because it was losing 3 players from 3 key positions.
Last season, all three positions were filled with Hummels coming back, Brandt joining and Sancho becoming world class, but then they lacked an out and out striker after Aubamayeng left so there was another piece missing. Now they have Haaland, they have a genuine class striker and it completes the puzzle for me.
Again, even if Sancho stays their squad will not be better than Bayern, so a Bayern slip up will be needed. But I think Dortmund have as good a squad as they've had in recent memory and can get a lot of points this season.......if Sancho stays.
For Dortmund is has to be about getting more consistency. Their aim should be being north of 80pts at the end, and then to see where it got them. Our squad is rather thin despite its versatility. A few injuries at the wrong time, and we might drop a few unexpected points.

Juve have won the Italian league 9 times (!) in a row.
PSG have won 7 of the last 8 league titles.
Those are just two examples. It's just the new reality/standard in basically every European top league outside of the Premier League.
The 8-0 was really impressive, but Schalke has been absolutely shocking in all of 2020. They're broke, they lost several of their most promising young players and they haven't won a single one of their last 17 Bundesliga games. They're probably a candidate for relegation this season.

With 2 CL semi finalists, you could argue that the Bundesliga is actually pretty competitive internationally. On the other hand, the national competitiveness of the PL is an expression of the financial luxury position many mid table teams are in, keeping things more on equal footing with the top sides. That is unique worldwide.
To truly combat inequality in football, one could employ a draft system similar to US football and basketball, where the worst team has first pick to the most promising talent entering the league.

In the 57 years since the start of the Bundesliga Bayern have won 29 times or 58.9%.
122 years of Seria A Juve have won 36 times or 29.5%. In the same time period they have 42% of the titles in Italy.
Ajax also 42% of titles in the same time period.
Bayern are a one off club with almost 60% of all championships going to them there isn't a team that comes close really.
State funded clubs do not count and PSG were a nothing club before the black gold came flooding in billions into a mediocre league having won the title twice before the state funding started. Once in the 80's and once in the 90's. Biggest trophy being their cup winners cup in 96.

You're literally counting 122 years of Serie A and only 57 of the Bundesliga, when the actual format of the Italian league prior to 1948 (when the "real" Serie A started) has been the exact same format as the German league pre 1963 (when the Bundesliga started).
So you have Juve winning 36/122 league titles and Bayern winning 30/118 titles.
Having said this: What happened so long ago isn't really the point here.
It's about the last decade, since nearly all leagues were a lot more unpredictable and exciting even in the 90s or 00s.
You got teams like Wolfsburg, Bremen or Stuttgart winning the Bundesliga in the 00s for example.
Valencia and LaCoruna won the Spanish league in that span, too.
In the last decade three out of the five big leagues have been complete one-horse races though (Bundesliga, Ligue1, Serie A), while another one has been a two-horse race (LaLiga).
You can't bash the Bundesliga and then try to find excuses for Ligue1 or Serie A. Same for La Liga in a way, since Real and Barca really cruise through it, too, with only a few matches being really interesting/competive.

Perisic, Coutinho and Thiago were contributors to last seasons either in the role of a secondary option, giving rest to the first ones, or as a first team player. Tolisso might be proclaimed as the replacement for Thiago but he played 25 times last season, so it's not as if he barely played and therefore did have a role. The question is if Tolisso will replace Thiago, then who will replace Tolisso's minutes?
Another question is the quality of replacements. Bayern certainly have the required number of players for each position, but the issue is that most are either really young and unproven, or old injury prone. Zirkzee and Arp are technically replacements for Lewandowski but how good are they? Cuisance can play in midfield and replace Tolisso but again he has barely played first team football. Same story for Tanguy at CB.
CB is arguably the position Bayern have most quality+numbers. Hernandez, Alaba, Tanguy aren't even regarded as guaranteed first teamers. Maybe after playing CB last season Alaba can shift to CM this season

Let's be real the Bundesliga isn't really competitive when it comes to who is going to be champions, no doubt about that. It's fun to watch though most of the time because teams seem to be hell bend on conceding and scoring as many goals as they can with their gung ho approach to football. I don't really care about the league for quite some time now but it's still fun to watch and tbh it's refreshing compared to watching every team, apart from some other big teams, defend with 10 people against us and hope for a lucky punch from a corner or a counter every weekend.
