Other Geoguessr

The first there's a building behind a tree with "Texa" visible, so assumed it was Texas and just chose a city there. And the second I saw what I thought looked like a Colombian flag on the corner.
I don't know why, but I instantly disregarded those letters! Always second guessing myself! Did not see any flags on the other.

I didn't even notice the truck that said "Salame Hungaro" on it, I was just trying to get "Atlantic City" in the shot
That's the first thing I noticed, plus the little bus had green, white and red colours so assumed it was representing their flag

I was really struggling, then I spotted a bus with the country written on it.
I saw the bus, but completely missed the country written on it

How did you get the first two so close?! Easy guess at the country with their ever-so-friendly cycle lanes, but the second one, only clue was the language, which could place it on three different continents.

As an American, #1 was easy since it is the football stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. The big Longhorns everywhere were the first giveaway. Seeing the "Texa" would be the best way to narrow it down if you didn't have that knowledge. You could at least narrow it down to North America based on vehicle directions.

Here's another nimic special. One of them might be hard, one shouldn't be

Edit: do you get put in a photosphere for one? It's not supposed to be, and it wasn't when I "played it".

Here's the same one with the photosphere changed, in case someone got it. No cheating if you played the original :P

As soon as I saw dairy on the first one I knew it was NZ. Had to rush towards the end though as had to help the gf with something.

Ridiculous. How are people getting the last one there's nothing to see!

The language used is very American, I just randomly picked Philidelphia as a muscle based place.

Some people are still getting nearly 5000.

Time to create Rooms Deathly hard version.

So hard. Although both @RobinLFC and I were exactly 6160km away on Q2 which is weird.
Not necessarily - I read "Phoenix" on a banner and thought it was the city Phoenix, so if you did the same it makes sense :D

Last place. But I've got within 4,7 km in the last (gym) room by clicking on a city without even zooming in!

That one I guessed based on how small it is. Has to be in a major American city, with one specific one in mind.

Just happy not to be last on those rooms editions.

There was one, but it was sort of folded in on itself. I was specifically trying to make it possible, but not too easy to spot. So if you were tricked, I succeeded :D
True, but even with your dirty trick of putting me inside a weird room, I did really well on the last one. The third one of these where I'd been to one of the locations helped, then I got really lucky placing the last one and when I zoomed into the map I was right next to the landmark.
I sucked at that one. Well, with the exception of the placed I'd been on a day trip the last time we were allowed to travel freely, pre-covid.

The time limit on these is too long imo, should be 1 minute max. Have a look around for a few clues then take a shot at where it is on the map. Any longer is bringing Google & searching into play

If you're afraid of people cheating, I don't see how 1 minute max is going to make any difference. If anything that will just increase the disparity between the cheaters and the non cheaters. For me, the fun of GeoGuessr isn't just to just immediately think "this looks vaguely like X country" and proceed to put it down in the capital of said country. It's to look closely for clues, then trying to reason out where I am in the world. And yes, sometimes that means looking for particular streets in a city.

That's GeoGuessr.

That said, once in a while it could be fun to experiment with modes. So sometimes we could do quick ones, and I'll definitely try to force the rest of you to play a moving game or two as well.
