Tried a slightly different map. Should give more diverse guesses, less capitals probably. A bit of a strange set, but I couldn't be arsed to find another one. I set 5 minutes for each round, but I ended up using less than that in total. Channelling my inner @BD I suppose.

Time is overrated anyway.

You're Tim?

China doesn't have Geoguessr. Knowing that, I bet there's a big chance you'd put it in South America? I picked Bolivia mostly because that's the mountain country of all mountain countries. That said, I actually messed up, since I don't think there are many mountains where I put it.
You what? I've guessed China so often just by sheer probability - if it looks East Asian there's a decent chance it's China.

Film locations were interesting, but:

Wasn't the last one that park from Die Hard where they count those bottles of water? That is supposed to be New York?
No, it was the famous bench scene from Forrest Gump

Ah, that is a help. I just thought it looked like some strange mountainous asian country.
I seen a very similar looking street on a travel show recently, and they were in Chile or Bolivia at the time. It most definitely isn't the same street, but it worked as a guess I suppose.

No way Olly got 19k there, that's ridiculous.

China doesn't have Google street view. It has like a very few tourist spots or something, but not even full cities like Germany. If it looks Chinese it's probably Taiwan, which does have it. Possibly Singapore.

Edit: Also Hong Kong, and stuff like that. Not mainland China I am pretty sure.

I thought S. Korea was the same (no street view) for some reason, but seemingly not.

China doesn't have gueguessr???? What? Time to play all challenges again!

How did you guess Yokohama and Bolivia?
It looked like Tokyo, but nimic said no capitals, so decided just to pick one of the outer cities. I thought the same with #3 but didn't think nimic would choose another one so close :(

I assumed it was South America and went with Bolivia as the background reminded me of bits of this video, especially the part at 11:50 onwards.

And you guessed around 100m away from the spot

I mean, I am not accusing you of cheating, but I seriously can't believe one can be so lucky.

Both Laos guesses had plenty of Laos flags, it's just that in the first one I mistook it for the Cambodian flag.
I felt aggrieved that I got the country right but got fewer points than your silly answer.

I didn't choose anything to be fair, I just picked a challenge on the map and played it. Also I didn't say no capitals. I just said... less capitals  And it does seem to be true.

I don't think the guesses were particularly sketchy. They were pretty similar to mine, and I was just playing (and getting more lucky than I normally do). Hell, in the TV one I got 4994 just from clicking on Los Angeles.

Ah I thought the challenges were made by those that post them! Well my faulty logic accidentally worked out not too bad in this case.

I bet they can be, but I am lazy so I just picked a map type, picked challenge and copied the link. And yeah, that's what I meant with weird.
Two Japan guesses (right next to each other) and two Laos guesses.

The map god blesses you with a new offering.

15,629. Not bad for me.

TV - 11,063. I recognised the last one immediately, but had no idea where they filmed it. I still have no idea what show the fourth is!

Film - 10,966. Again, I recognised a few of these, but had no idea where they were filmed. Got stupidly lucky on one.
I adopted a "guess California for everything approach, and it paid of massively for the Die Hard one"

I did this one. I don't want to talk about it.

Can you list which TV shows and films these are from?

TV:

1. Game of Thrones
2. Always Sunny
3. Breaking Bad - Hank and Marie’s house
4. Lost
5. Silicon Valley. The hacker house.

Film:

1. Rocky
2. X-Men
3. Die Hard
4. Jurassic Park
5. Forrest Gump

How did you get the first two so close?! Easy guess at the country with their ever-so-friendly cycle lanes, but the second one, only clue was the language, which could place it on three different continents.
The first there's a building behind a tree with "Texa" visible, so assumed it was Texas and just chose a city there. And the second I saw what I thought looked like a Colombian flag on the corner.
