You definitely have a point, every game we play it seems he ready to pounce and overly praising who we're playing and sticking the boot in.
I’m 100% with you and it’s very much consistent with what Gullit also recently said about our ex players meddling in clubs business and having too much of a say and influence. Neville is an epitome of this problem, there’s a clear conflict of interest in my eyes as drama around United only plays in his favor, he gets to be more pumped up and raise emotions hence feed his ego and rack up the clicks and views. Many will say it’s a problem of all countries and cultures but the longer I live and the more I get to understand Europe no sports media scene is as toxic and such a challenge for the players and teams as the British one.
The general negative perception of United is exacerbated by Neville. Think of the knock on effect, it’s already a stressed environment and this doesn’t help the manager (which should be his priority if he loves the club so much).

Neville, in his minutes long rant, uses the words "complete inability to bring players in", "really desperate", "no leadership", "failing miserably", "decrepid, rotting stadium", "football club where they haven't got a clue", "not appointing a sporting director" (yeah....), "the club is rotten", "it's painful and it's woeful", a "toxic culture and atmosphere created at the club since 10 years"

It's not a discussion about the Glazers or the club's recent history, or a discussion about the stadium. It's the reaction to the second game under a new manager. Well, congratulations. The guy is a massive, massive problem. Ruud Gulllit is right.
First of all, that was not an insult. Relax.
Secondly, what you're saying is so categorically wrong and moronic that it deserves nothing but ridicule. You're implying that Neville is more responsible for the disintegration of this institution than the owners of said institution are. Otherwise, why would you say that's it's more important to oust him as opposed to the owners who are actually responbile for all the negativity.
It's the sort of take that the people on Talksport would be embarrassed to utter.
EDIT: Also "No other club has this problem, other teams can lose a game without this constant barrage in the media" Real Madrid loses a game or two and the media have a fecking conniption.
This post is a great example of how to demonstrate a lack of understanding of the situation at our club. We have serious long term problems caused by our owners. Much bigger problems than Gary bloody Neville.

He never actually implied Neville is more or even as responsible for the failure of United as a sports entity than Glazers, merely pointed out that Neville himself is arguably the single individual most responsible for setting the negative tone around the club in the British media sphere. Not living in the UK but following the TV and Twitter my fair bit, I’m inclined to agree with this.
It's not good for the team to have to listen to rants about the club's serious long term problems in every media channel every time the goalie makes a mistake.
Manchester United have the highest number of fans in the country. We always get a barrage in the media positive or negative. Whether feom Neville or some made up shite in the tabloids. The club generates clicks and views regardless.

The thing is, the discussion is not only because the goalie makes a mistake. The loss might give an opportunity for the Glazers to become a talking point. But that is because they are to blame for the last 9-10 years of decline.
As for the players, they need to be mentally strong and media savvy. It is normal to get criticism or negativity in the media and need to rise above it at any large football club. That is part of the profession.

What this implies is, that what Gary Neville is doing, is more detrimental to this club than what the Glazers are doing. That the Glazers may have absolutely destroyed this once great institution and treated the fans with utter disdain, but Gary Neville comes on TV now and then and voices his frustration. Frustration that the majority of fans also share.

Also, this notion that he's doing this on the "second game of the season" is nonsense. There is a disease at this club that has been metastasizing for the last 10 years or so. That's what Neville is talking about. He's not having a fit because we've lost our second game of the season, per se, but it's what this loss symbolizes. If we just came off the back of winning the Premier League, he wouldn't be going in on the club like he was earlier.
It's the same reason why fans were booing the team last week after 16 minutes. It's not because they were losing the first game of the season, it's because that game is symptomatic of where this club has been over the last decade and where it's' going. It's pent-up frustration. You might just try to think about the point I'm trying to make. Think you'll find it's a good one.
I repeat: I think it's a problem for your team, in its weekly endeavour to improve performances and results, if a legendary and highly influential ex-player does commentary and post-match punditry in the most relevant broadcast in such a way that he enriches every game's analysis with his holistic gripe with, and bitterness about, the clubs leadership and the entirety of recent history of what has gone wrong at the club.
It adds massive weight, like you wouldn't believe, in the sphere of public perception and atmosphere, onto the team's already heavy shoulders, and it makes it impossible for the new managerial team to receive anything like a clean slate, or the opportunity of a patient, calm fresh start. How hard is it to understand this?
And here is is completely IRRELEVANT whether what he's saying about the Glazers is right (I think it is). It's just about the frequency, occasion, and podium where he keeps saying it. He's punishing the team for something they're not culpable for.

Might I also add, I've never once criticised ETH - I think he's a fantastic manager and if he's allowed to be successful I believe he will be but as it currently stands, we've got a certain subset of our playing staff who are clearly lazy as feck, an ass-backwards footballing structure that isn't fit for purpose and owners who leach profits out the club whilst putting nothing of their own back in.

Sorry the last sentence wasn't clear. My view is today was the managers fault. We have a team that shouldn't get thrashed by Brentford on paper. But Neville always has an agenda which he bends around results
In all honestly he isn't wrong. The focus should be on the Glazers, and the club is currently rotten. We've hired different managers and signed different players, and it won't make any difference if we keep repeating the same criticism after every game. The Glazers are the problem, and they shouldn't be left out of the conversation.
