I'll tell you one thing and I'm not ashamed to say it, my estimation of Gary Neville as a pundit has fecking plummeted.

Yeah that's how I see it. People can think he's completely wrong, criticise his view etc, but he's not someone who'll call for a manager to be sacked rightly or wrongly.
It's a strange rule and I think it's a bit cowardly .. why is he okay with criticizing players or asking them to be dropped / sold but not okay with asking managers to be removed?
I think he understands the importance of a manager. The bizarre thing about it, if he's outright stating he will never call for a managerial change, is that this is pretty much an admission that he sees the manager as irrelevance to our success. If it makes no difference whatsoever then in Neville's mind whoever the manager is must surely be one of the least important people at the football club.
I think he understands the importance of a manager.
As a former manager himself, i just don't think he wants the headlines written that say "Neville calls for Ole to be fired". Same goes for any other manager.

He's firmly Ole in
Because he's too reluctant and will never say Ole out and he'll never criticise Ole because the ex players love him.I can’t see how you can say he’s Ole in from reading that. Just because he refuses to say he should be sacked doesn’t mean he doesn’t think it.
He's firmly Ole in
'There are people saying this is the worst moment of my punditry career,' Neville told Sportsmail this week.
'They say I am not being honest. But I am not paid on TV to sack managers and I ain't doing it.
'I know the impact of Gary Neville saying a Man United manager should be sacked.
'For the pundits who have said it then "Well done" but it's not my style.
'When I see another pundit calling for any sacking, I cringe. My stomach turns.
'My line is crossed with that.
Reading between the lines I agree with you. He wont say all this if he believes Ole is competent deep downHe's firmly Ole out
The quotes very, very, very obviously show that Neville's opinion of Ole is that he's finished as Manchester United manager. But Nevilles's wrestling against his own personal principles to avoid calling it out.
These are the same principles that stopped him from calling for the Moyes, LvG and Mourinho sackings in the past. Not to mention the Nuno, Smith, Bruce, Farke, Xisco and Jones sackings this season.

Yet hes quite happy to sack mangers within months of starting at Salford. A case of do as I say, not as I do. Biggest hypocrite and prick on the TVHe's firmly Ole out

Completely unrelated because he has 2 different roles.Yet hes quite happy to sack mangers within months of starting at Salford. A case of do as I say, not as I do. Biggest hypocrite and prick on the TV
How so? How can he pontificate to the public and his TV cronies one thing, only to do the opposite when he is in charge?Completely unrelated because he has 2 different roles.

Gary Neville is a minority shareholder in Salford. Minority shareholders don’t make those decisions.Yet hes quite happy to sack mangers within months of starting at Salford. A case of do as I say, not as I do. Biggest hypocrite and prick on the TV
He has openly admitted to sacking managers. One in particular, too early.Gary Neville is a minority shareholder in Salford. Minority shareholders don’t make those decisions.
They can, depends on their level of influence. Isn’t Salford Lim + project 92 anyway so you’d assume GNev, if anyone, will have the most say given his ties to Lim?Gary Neville is a minority shareholder in Salford. Minority shareholders don’t make those decisions.
