"Van Gaal is David Moyes +£150million"
And Ozil the season before and got a healthy 20m for Morata just last year. They seem to be funding large chunks of their signings with sales now.
Higuan for €40million as well

Does anybody else feel that they dont really want Bale if he has rejected us twice at this stage?

If he already rejected us at Spurs, then I don't want him anywhere near this club.
I forget the numbers and cant seem to find them, but their profit margin isnt very high. They have a lot of operating costs and overheads compared to the other top sides. They were probably positioning themselves for FFP, even though they are less affected by it.

Reports in Spain last year claimed selling Di Maria was important for signing James.
Who cares whether he did or not. If he's a quality player (world class in this case) then it would be counterintuitive to not buy him.
@MainoldoDunno man, I don't want him coming here just for the wages and then failing to perform and trying his best. But apparently we bid too late to get him in 2013 and he had already gave Madrid his word.
I've been thinking last couple of days, for this team Isco might be a better signing for us.
Wouldn't matter for me. If he wants to join us, we want to sign him, an Madrid want to sell at a reasonable price, then there's nothing that should stand in the way.
It would bother me if are last 2 big signings were basically forced to come here by Florentino, I feel alot better about players like Herrera and Blind who feel it is an honour to play for us
he's going to turn 26. You expect us to sign a player so reliant on his pace when he's 28/29?I don't see him moving this summer. The Hype seems to be coming almost exclusively from the likes of the Mail and the Sun.Real also arn't being linked with a big name in that position like Hazard or Reus either. There's usually a lot of noise if they're after somone and I doubt they'd let Bale go without a big money replacement.
I do think Bale will end up at United eventually. It seems inevitable that he will return to England and ourselves and Chelsea are probably the only options in that case.

Their technical ability is on a different level and they're rare players to have not lost physically at their age.I think that's unfair to Bale, he's got more than pace to his game. Either way if he takes care of himself, as he seems to be doing, he won't necessarily slow down that much. Just look at Ronaldo and Robben, they're as fast as ever despite breaking into their 30's.
Anyway I don't think that Real could argue that he's worth any more than Di Maria when we paid 60 m for last year. If they'd ask for more than that (which they likely will) then we should switch focus to other targets.
I also have doubts about wether he'd be the right player for us given the way we play.

If we really have to sign bale, it can't be later than this summer. You can't be signing a player totally reliant on pace when he's 28/29 for big bucks. That would be terrible decision making IMO.

I think we'll sign him next summer or the one after. So he'll be just 27/28..That's 4-5 years of his peak and I don't think Bale will be useless after that.I also hope that it'll be for a semi reasonable fee.he's going to turn 26. If Kaká had three years to show his level then probably Madrid will try to keep Bale at least one more year, but yes, if Madrid brings Reus/Gotze/Hazard probably we would forget about Bale in 5 minutesI think Madrid would be happy to trade him in for more technical wingers like Reus or Hazard. Not sure if Mourinho would swap Hazard for Bale and a load of cash but maybe.........Bale would be the savior we need at this club and Giggs could hopefully twist his arm but I just can't see it happening...he will either go to Chelsea to play under the best manager in the premier league and be close to his family in London or he will stay in Madrid
Sorry that is just bollox in the case with Bale because he saw probably a better chance to play every game at Tottenham than at Manchester United 8 years ago and no one can say that he has made the wrong choice. If he already rejected us at Spurs, then I don't want him anywhere near this club.
That's not realistic IMO. If De Gea had a few years on his contract maybe, but with his contract situation, Dave's worth £20 million max.I don't think they'll be a better summer to get him than this one, it would be easier to sign him from Real than it would've been from Spurs because of Levy. Does anyone on here think it's realistic that we could do a straight swap involving De Gea no cash involved?

Precisely the same things were said when we signed Di maria. And Di Maria was easily better than Bale when both were at Madrid.Bale would be the savior we need at this club
Hazard or Reus, fair enough, but Gotze? I'm not too sure. Firstly I don't think he's as good as these guys and secondly you would then have Gotze, James and Isco. All very good, but quite similar players in your squad.
Yeah, because a few bad results suddenly gives you the appeal of Barnsley.
He's Premier League proven almost to the point as Rooney is plus can score tons of goals with possibility of playing as LB in emergency situations... of course he could be a crucial signing, no matter the price. We need to spend the money elsewhere. Plus, Bale wont be the saviour some claim he will be

That's not how football works. We're not Scunthorpe. We're one of the most attractive clubs in the world with massive capatal to attract huge names. Its ridiculous to think 2 bad seasons has made us less appealing to big players. Its madness in fact. Just typical overreating to results on the pitch that in the grand scheme of things mean absolutely nothing in terms of our appeal to both players, sponsors and fans across the world.Nope, because of a whole two seasons of being miles behind the championship winning team and the fact that if he does become available why would he not choose City, Chelsea or even Bayern ahead of us.
...but it still adds one more to his solid library of skills. We have about 12 who can cover at left back, it shouldn't really add or detract from the argument to sign him.
