Prefers blue over red, loathed by Spurs fans
Sorry, my bad. I'll just take all the stick aimed at my club with a smile from now on.
I was surprised it bothered you really.

It doesn't really bother me but you can't tar every Madrid supporter with the same brush. I've said time and time again that the fees mentioned are ridiculous.
Every supporter I've spoken to thinks the same about this by the way. Bale is a good player but he doesn't shit golden eggs.
What do you mean the banks will bail them out? My point is they already owe Spurs X million over X years due to Modric, why would Levy want to bump the payments up when he could sell Bale to say PSG etc or someone willing to offer cash up front, especially the way Spurs are spending it...
Didn't we get the Ronaldo money up front? I'm sure I remember Fergie saying something about that.No-one would be paying anywhere near that much up front. Hardly any £20m+ deals are cash up front.

We won't though, at least not the people with half a brain. I'll expect him to be good, just as I expect from every player playing for us, but Messi and Ronaldo are freaks. If he really does go for £93 million I can only see him 'flopping'. If you look at his figures from this season, they're very good, but compared to Messi and Ronaldo, they're not even close, and that's what the Madrid fans will judge him by. They'll expect him to be as good, if not better then Ronaldo. So even, what would normally be considered a good season, say 30 goals/assists will be judged as failure, all because of the price tag.

http://sport.sky.it/sport/calciomercato/2013/08/20/trattative_giornata_calciomercato.htmlWhere did this last rumour come from by the way? I can't seem to find anything new on this to be honest.
Bale a un passo dal Real: accordo raggiunto. TRATTATIVE
Sembra ci sia l'accordo tra il Tottenham e il club spagnolo per 93 milioni di sterline. Sabatini a Londra per la cessione di Lamela agli Spurs.

Dunno mate, don't remember anything of the sort. Mind you, I don't even remember what I ate this morning.Didn't Ronaldo get some boo's in his first season, or there was at least some murmurings of discontent about his performance? I seem to remember something along the lines of some fans expecting more from a £80 million player.
I don't live in Spain but I assume you aren't wrong with your assumptions seeing as Spain's economy is far worse than the rest of Europe at the moment.whats the feeling in spain regarding this fee Vato? (i'm assuming you're actually in spain)
aren't spains finances in the toilet like the rest of Europe? and yet here's their premeir club about to pump 100m into a british club
surely there's been some public outcry or at least some politicans jumping up and down about this
Has Swissramble ever done an analysis on whether RM can afford to maintain this credit card madness?

Cheers Penna, sincerely hope they're wrong, at least for that amount of money. It just doesn't feel right if we sign a player that's more expensive than Ronaldo.http://sport.sky.it/sport/calciomercato/2013/08/20/trattative_giornata_calciomercato.html
It's on Sky Sports Italia, with a bit about Lamela:
Bale just a step away from Real: agreement reached. NEGOTIATIONS There seems to be the agreement between Tottenham and the Spanish club for 93 million pounds. Sabatini in London for the sale of Lamela to Spurs.

I can't speak for everyone offcourse but the fans I know in real life think the same as me, this is way too much money for a player that hasn't proved himself at the top level. Is this the overriding feeling amongst your fans?
I just don't see how he can be considered worthy of such a lofty pricetag. There's no way he's going to replicate Ronaldo's goalscoring record, for example.

Ronaldo was different, he was the main man at one of Europe's top clubs and was crowned world player of the year. It was a ridiculous fee aswell but it was more or less justifiable.
To be honest I'm worried about his "happyness" and therefore his willingness to stay when we priced someone higher than him. Because, let's be honest, Ronaldo cares about stuff like that. The fan surveys, including the "socios only" survey are against the signing - particularly at a record price. 60-70m was the figure the ones who want him bought seem to be willing to pay.
It seems to have become very much a Perez signing now - not a by popular acclaim demand. They've been advised he'll be good for the marketing profile
I don't think Ancelotti knows what he'll do with him.
The Madrid fans I know are worried about reducing Ronaldo's effectiveness rather than looking forward to being less dependent on him.
If its true, I can't help feeling that Real Madrid have made the biggest mistake of all time.

For Ronaldo? we should have demanded more IMO.
I don't know if he does really to be honest, I think that might be a bit of a media construct. He'd still be the main man on the pitch surely, regardless of price tag. If he got shoved around to accommodate Gareth fecking Bale of all people he'd be rightfully pissed off but I can't see any manager in their right mind doing that.
