Not going to happen i'm afraid. We have enough forums and subforums.
I think it should happen, it would be a great way of bridging the gap between newbies and mains posters if they could integrate prior to promotion.
On the flip side, only being able to participate in those games after promotion could act as a motivational device for newbs to earn promotion. The more you give to the newbs, the less reason they have to work at promotion. Not a big fan of games forum but can see what brews is getting at, if say newbies with 4 or more likes have access they could participate in drafts and other sort of stuff. Already the case that they can post in matchday and a limited number of posts in football forum but guess no limit on posts for those with 4+ likes in games forum like brewlio's suggesting could result in some new posters getting to know mains posters better and vice versa and result in less hostility when the newbie eventually gets promoted.
Those on 4 or more likes usually get promoted in the end. Get what you're saying though, maybe raise it to 6-7 with a post limit. There are quite a few newbies who just play countless drafts with no chance of promotion or even bothering getting to 4 likes. It'd give them a target to work towards I guessOn the flip side, only being able to participate in those games after promotion could act as a motivational device for newbs to earn promotion. I don't get the impression there will be any more sub forums in the future. If anything there may be some that need to be reduced.
Only one needs to go, really (FCUM). Rest are fine IMO. Apart from United and football forum needing to be set on fire.I don't get the impression there will be any more sub forums in the future. If anything there may be some that need to be reduced.
Can you guys start with the Football Forum and the Manchester United Forum?
They're full of sub-standard shite though.They aren't subforums.
Yeah, always found strange the FCUM forum. Because:
1) It is a subforum of an another team.
2) It is populated by the same three posters.
How about a Spurs sub-forum, only accessible to banned members. Then we can just send the two members who belong there...It is weird, maybe we should have a subform of Manchester City and the 3 fans that go to their games too.
Hmm, would that be a sport?Wanker competition
Hmm, would that be a sport?
It'd definitely be a spurt.Hmm, would that be a sport?
I'm not in favour of adding more forums. A sub-forum is definitely not going to happen, they don't work as they're too hidden away.
Are there really enough threads to justify a separate forum for these game discussions? I'm thinking no.

Active gaming type threads since 1st April:There's always some kind of draft running, a WW game once in a month. Add the fantasy football updates, score prediction thread and mooted resistance addition. I'd say you are looking at about 10 threads a month at best. There will be some lean months, but 10 a month is the best case scenario. I'm not sure if that's enough, but a separate forum may help increase traffic to this sub forum. Alternatively, it may reduce the activity on the football forums. As brewlio said, maybe it'll make sense for newbies to be given access as it will merge the game threads in all forums and introduce newbies early to the main posters and help them to blend more easily.
I'm not sure how it will work out in the end, but the idea has legs to at least give it a good consideration.
Active gaming type threads since 1st April:
Text
High-Level Sport: A 'real-time' structured physical game involving where players use their bodies to affect the result.
Includes: Football, Athletics, Wrestling.
Doesn't Include:
Jogging; not structured, and not a game.
Stacking shelves; not structured and not a game.
Chess; Not physical, not in real time, and doesn't use the players bodies to affect the result.
Console gaming; not physical, and doesn't use the players bodies to affect the result.
Sport: A fun activity
"He's a good sport". "That was good sport".
Considering a few are one time threads and it's spread over 40 days, 15 a month? What do you think?
I think it's a moot point comparing to FCuM as the forum was already created in the past and it's such an one off event in the club's history, but this is one of the better ideas in my opinion. I don't understand/know how traffic between forum works, so there would be legitimate reasons why this is a non starter, but if this sub forum is open to all (newbies and mains) then it definitely could attract more posters as it may be searchable from internetz and may drive up sign ups.
I just realized I haven't noticed the existence of that sub-forum for years. WtfYeah, always found strange the FCUM forum. Because:
