Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I'm now hoping nothing major happens with Bran.

Either way it'll be shit tbf. If he's not involved, it just neatly ties up my point about him being useless, and if he is it'll be in some terribly contrived way.

I don't hold out much hope for the finale anyway, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised!

If anything happens, blame
@RedSky and @Redlambs
Although given I was accused of being a reddit reader (shudders) because I said greyworm would die, and he didnt, but that was my plan cos i knew he wouldnt die, thus said it,... well yeah.

Anyway, What im thinking / hoping / wondering for the finale:

remember that theory about Bran being the one to cause Mad King to go... Mad? He was the voice that made him 'burn it all'. What if thats true, and Bran was doing his thing, screwed up his warging. and thus caused Dany to go angry / mad as well.
Whether it was by accident, or on purpose to ensure a path is followed, which is related to Jon being brought by the lord of light.
Beric was brought back to ensure Arya got to where she needed.
Maybe Jon was brought back to end Dany and Bran helped push through sacrifices (KL burn down) to ensure Jon ended her.

or...

he helped do that, so that when Jon kills her (and sacrifices) he can take the throne

Given hes been useless so far, and from ep3 just seeing his reaction to the NK when he was first going to be taken out, and then when NK was taken out.

To be honest, any wacky theory is likely to be better than the reality.

Especially if Jaqen wins the throne!

I've been happy with the season so far and I'm looking forward to the finale.

I thought that episodes 3 and 5 were epic. The cinematography, score and the overall way they played with your emotions was outstanding.

Episodes 2 and 4 were also very good with only the Jack Sparrow moments jarring me out of my enjoyment for that instant.

I don't expect TV series or films to be as good at story telling as books are. I don't expect everything in a book to make it onto the screen. The most important thing about visual media is that I'm entertained and enjoying the spectacle that is playing out before me. I've thoroughly enjoyed this season so far.

I agree with this. I think given were in the age of everybody being critics in real time and having the platform to do so, and thus criticizing every single small detail, overall its been a fun season. Ep1 was the usual show where everybody is. Ep2 interactions were fantastic between the different characters all being in the same place (and the moment of Brienne being made a knight was great).
ep3 and 5 were spectacles that you dont see on TV and has set the standard of action blockbusters on screen.
ep4 is possibly the weakest imo

His name is Jaqen h'ghar
Jaqen Horseghar.
Makes sense.

Oh and that's how you've gotten away with it for so long @Sylar, you always put in a red herring. So you deserve to stick around for that alone, rob was the perfect dumbass foil for you

Im the real villain. Roblittlefinger undone befor the finale, whilst I was innocent all this time, and just as the finale comes, I do a 180. Brilliance.

Robs not littlefinger cmon. He's like that shit character back in Season 2 that tried to rob Daenerys of her eggs and got locked in his own empty vault.

I've jokingly suggested Bran was doing that as well @Sylar. I don't think his character has ever shown to be a schemer though, he's just a prick.

It would be funny though!

Nah, we've know about you all along. I just happen to have spoiled redsky's little trap there. My bad.

To be honest though, since you've done it far sneakier than the others who have been quietened and not ruined it for the others, we've just kept an eye.

 Team R&R on duty.

Seriously though, I do hope Bran has something in the finale.

I was really thinking season 8 could go down in history for greatness, but it'll be remembered as a disappointment.

I am as disappointed as anyone by the last episode, especially for what (obvious) stuff they set up for the grand finale.

But, while i was watching it for the first time, the 3rd episode was probably the most exciting thing i have watched on TV all my life. Rewatching it maybe not so much, but watching it for the first time without any spoilers, it was reeeeeaaaaaaaaly exciting and i won't forget that so fast. It represents greatness to me. The only thing i criticize about it would be the time. That war deserved more than just one episode. It was the main thing i have waited for since season 2 think.

I hope we get to see one of those famous courtyard staring scenes.

I'm just glad they found the perfect scene for it.

When Jon throws him under the bus to tell Sansa/Arya. They didn't show us on cam the outcome, because it wouldn't have looked "cool" seeing Jon run away the moment their backs turned to face gormless Bran.

I like this.

Pfft, bunch of claqueurs
"Yeah, last week the iron fleet could easily kill a dragon, and this week it's easily destroyed, and people say this is bad writing - and maybe, maybeeee there's a point there."

So anyways

That petition is at 572,000 signatures now, for feck sake.

People are so weird. OK so the season has been hugely shit from a writing standpoint and is totally nonsensical, but do they actually believe that they'll see a petition and go 'oh yeah ok, we'll do it all again!'.

It's the dumbest shit ever. What kind of power do they think a fecking online petition has.

It’ll be just like Brexit. They will get there way and then there will be 572,000 different ideas on how it should end.

I don't read any theories or leaks so not gonna even spoiler my theory, which is Sansa will become Queen. If that happens, Im gonna be so pissed off

This season isn't as bad as most are making out :nervous:

The writing has been shit, and it's horribly rushed. No way could they tie it all up properly with six episodes remaining, especially when they spent 2 episodes chilling in Winterfell.

Pretty much all other aspects have been fantastic, so it's still been entertaining, which for some people is enough.

The only episode so far that I honestly haven't enjoyed watching was 4.

I'd agree with that. Personally I hated 3 more than 4. But its been enjoyable to watch visually.

Not only that, but it's going to be the same people writing it.

3 was illogical and massively disappointing considering all the build up, but again in isolation it was a well made episode and I was able to enjoy it, other than it being a bit dark.

4 was boring and stupid and I think if I watch the season again I'll probably skip it entirely.

The season done all over again but this time Daenerys just kind of forgets Cersei has an army .

edit: I say an army, but in fairness I reckon a bunch of tesco bags blowing in the wind would have put up a better defence of King's Landing.

Yeah I agree
EP4 had three things I hated:
Euron ship attack/dragon falling
Brienne crying
Jon not saying goodbye to ghost

I suppose watching this she did have a few reasons to go crazy, I’m just not happy with how they got there.

I was clapping along by the end.
