Some top notch nostalgia here..

Talking of savage... I today stumbled about that one bit where Tywin Lannister tells Tyrion how much he despises him. Still brutal years later. And so much better than the one-liner festival this has become.

It was foreshadowed a bit in this scene:

Cersei standing on the neck and Jamie Standing on the fingers implying he's gonna choke her

"Everything you did brought you to where you are now and you're a good man Theon". I'm all about that Christian forgiveness, hate the sinner not the sin etc. but it struck me as a little strong for Bran to beatify a guy who had Ian Bradyed children in his quest for power. Something like "You're a complex man who has done horrific things, you have also repented and that counts for something in my raven eyes" is almost as clunky as D&Ds writing but it gives Theon redemption without the feeling of cheesy sentimental absolution. The Red Myra Hindley was also shown in a strangely understanding light.

This is not to slur D&D as apologists for predatory child murderers, because what they did to the Night King is much worse than killing children.

D&D you are not good men at writing.

The Sandsnakes are dead and Ellaria is currently watching one of them decompose in front of her while chained up in the bowels of the Red Keep so I'd say Dorne is off the table.

It won't happen now obviously but I heard a theory a year or so back that the final conflict against the WW threat would take place in Dorne.

I actually liked the Dornish culture and their way of fighting but wasn't too keen on the Sand Snakes. Other than that I wouldn't have minded a bit more of it on the show. They are the only people the Targaryens couldn't conquer and seem to have a slightly bigger role in the books.

Does anyone else think that the majority of Westeros is going to be like "You fought a what? A zombie army?! Nah feck off mate."

Hmmm.... the guy who plays Night King posted something interesting.

He definitely touched Bran, and in the last episode, Arya, before he was killed.

Is there something more here?

This isn't the real guy, it's a fan page no?

oh ffs, you're right. How fecking disappointing!
I swear of we don't get some sort of Night King closure I'll be annoyed. I'm happy with episode 3 and the Night King being gone, just as long as we find out something else about him related to Bran.

Maybe Bran owes him money or something. I'd even accept that as a reason at this point.

I would have directed a real feck you moment. I'd have Arya stab him with the dragon glass, only for her to look in horror as the Night King smirks and turn her into a White Walker.

Seriously, though. I'm hoping the fact that the Knight King "branded" Bran means something larger than being the Night Kings GPS Google Map search.

Like Ted Bundy at his sentencing.

Judge: "Take care of yourself young man, you are such a brilliant mind, you would have been a great lawyer and I would be delighted if you exercised right here in my court. Absolutely nothing personal against you, but you are now sentenced to death."

Don't understand the sympathy Reek gets. He deserved everything that came his way after burning those farmer boys.

Maybe the Night King had this awesome handshake idea and he wanted to share it with Bran.

Yeah, me too. I'm worried that it'll go the way of the Dorne plotline now though.

Oh shit, the twist is that Bran is a Mason now and will only give the Winterfell restoration contracts to his "friends" from Arbroath.

Wasn't the person who devised the wall called, Bran the Builder? Builder? Mason? Freemason......Free folk? Wait a minute.....

He's a very complex character. He did that because he was desperate to prove himself as a strong Ironborn and so he could feel like he fitted in, during the scene itself you can see how much it horrifies him.

There was clearly good in him and he had a solid arc. Same with Jaime, he's a totally different person to the one who pushed Bran off the ledge and so it's fine to sympathise with the Jaime of now, just like it's fine to sympathise with the Theon of now, who went down fighting till the end knowing he would die. His character for a long while has been desperately trying to make amends for what he did.

It's not like he wasn't punished for what he did either. He experienced the worst kind of torture and was utterly broken as a human being, yet from all that emerged and managed to do good.

If the white walkers have been defeated before, then surely that means they’ll be reborn/reincarnated again at some stage?

Oh shit! Now he's a Mason he goes back in time and builds the tower in Winterfell that he falls out of!
And his fall symbolises the shite job the last company did at my work when they dropped an air con system through a marble floor and promptly went away for a three hour lunch!

They didn't kill the Night King before, just drove them back North in to hiding and then built the wall to stop them ever threatening them again.

With the NK (the og white walker) gone, everything he created is destroyed with him, so the white walkers, wights, everything. Total extinction.

Bran left his keys up north and NK has just been trying to give them to him this whole time, but people keep attacking him and his wights for some reason.

I don't think there's going to be any resolution to it. I suspect they will go back to "strong" females glaring at each other and uttering bad ass comments that don't really make a lot of sense while looking smug. Also jokes about dicks and eunuchs to make a comeback as the battle for the Iron Throne rages to a conclusion.

I see. you’d think he might be a bit more cautious until the battle was completely won  meh let’s see how it pans out

Watching the first few seasons, theon was a right bastard. Robb really trusted him and he went and did that cos he was ridiculed by his dad and sister.

Jaime too when he killed his former squire to try get freedom.

Their arcs for redemption were good (Jaime forcing cersei aside, which clearly was badly directed)

Although dany has two dragons she can't really use them to take KL as the fire would destroy everything. Logically cersei and her army would be near important places to negate dragon destruction

Also I reckon

tyrion may kill cersei. He basically said he would when cersei tried to kill his whore (but took the wrong one)
And given he kinda trusted her but made him a fool again, it's possible

I'm still gunning for my Star Wars-esque ending where they have this big ceremony at King's Landing and Cersei gives medals to everyone. The Hound and The Mountain share a beer and Ghost rides about on Drogon. Then we see the camera follow a little black cable as it snakes through the crowd and eventually stops at Blackwater Bay. It's attached to a big cartoonish ACME detonator and GRRM jumps on it.
