Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I could cry that I’m gonna miss this episode live.
You know it's not live, right? It's pre-recorded months ago, they are actors.

There needs to be proper action tonight, they've spent two episodes dicking around with shite dialogue and sideboob that no one wanted to see. If I don't see some dragons fire and highly questionable tactics tonight then I'm going to start marching south myself.

This is true. Tyrion was amazing a few seasons ago, his scenes with Obeyrn were sensational and he had that Headey talent of making any scene he was involved in captivating. Scenes with both of them in? Wow.

These days he's pretty pointless, his character has been butchered and he mostly gets crap dialogue. I honestly think Dinklage is just phoning it in himself now, get the show done and over with.

I think most of them who have been there from the start are now.

The night king loses his virginity to a giant woman.

Came up with an idea that
Arya uses the face swap thingy to fool the Night King and get him killed. Not sure how that could work, maybe Arya could use Bran's face or something.

Anyone notice how Grey Worm bulked up? You have to wonder how that will affect his quickness, especially fighting in the North where he’s not Westeros proven.

Something to get everyone in the mood for later/tomorrow (depending on where you are & when you’re watching).

I reckon Arya might end up on the Iron Throne wearing someone elses' face. Maybe in an ambiguous ending where it's heavily hinted but not shown explicitly.

you know how some character will accidentally call stannis "lord" or danerys "princess" and then one of their staff will correct them? thats what my dream job is. "actually youre talking to the ice king, show some goddamned respect"

So I'm with Virgin media and the only channel they don't have is Sky Atlantic.

With a VPN, is there anyway to watch this live in HD?
If I don't watch tonight, I'll have to wait until after work tomorrow, and I'll end up seeing a spoiler...

I think the Iron Throne won't exist at the end and they'll find a new way to govern themselves. Maybe as something like the Westerosi Republic after determining that there shouldn't be one person to rule over everything after the collective effort they put in together.

I can see the Iron Throne getting an epic and dramatic destruction a la Mordor and Sauron at the end of the Return of the King. Heck, they may even find obsidian/dragonglass swords in there to help win against the White Walkers or some shit and that's how it gets destroyed.

The Iron Throne is pretty much the symbol of GOT, and seeing it being destroyed as a symbol that it no longer exists coinciding with it being the end of the story would be cool.

I can't watch till tomorrow so now I have to worry about spoilers all day except I never talk to anybody and I don't care about spoilers so good luck trying to spoil it suckers remember to post spoilers for the next 24 hours so you don't get bannged.

Now I see why the Golden Company didn’t bother bringing you along.

You could try NowTV and see if they have Sky Atlantic.

My god i can't wait for this. It's gonna be a bloodbath. Apparently it's the longest battle ever committed to film, which is insane. I just can't see how the human army can win this. I think they could retreat due to heavy casualties. And i'm not sure if i want them to win to be honest. I actually like the Night King. Certainly hope he doesn't go out in this episode as that would be slightly anti-climatic.

EDIT: Although i love Brienne and i'm sad to say that i think it's the end of the road for her.

you have to love how the ice king treats everyone the same regardless of race creed or gender. we stan a woke king

My theory is that the Night King is the good guy and Jon Snow is the bad guy....

Night King:

- Takes in and adopts unwanted children
- Created thousands of jobs
- Isn't racist
- Welcomes everyone with arm hug-like gesture
- Believes in open borders
- Gives out cool ice weapons
- Wants to tear down the wall
- Adopted abandoned dragon
- Never killed a co-worker
- Revives dead people, thus providing a type of life insurance.

Jon Snow:

- Doesn't like people from the "South"
- Wants a big wall to keep immigrants out, and even worked at the wall itself to make sure
- Keeps his cool weapon for himself
- His pet went missing and didn't care
- Once killed a child
- Has killed his co-workers

It's basically impossible as the characters have recognised. The Night King's army don't tire, can resurrect the enemies they kill (!) and I doubt every soldier in the human army has dragonglass.

In reality an undead army would be unstoppable. An army which has unbreakable morale and can fight endlessly? Feck that. All they can do is hold the line basically and try and use the dragons/fire arrows/whatever to do as much damage as possible.

Their only chance (as they've said) is to kill the NK and hope that ends the army. They aren't beating that force in the field outright.

Sign up for Now TV? You can get a seven day trial but you need to out your card details in. Plus it won't come on until about 4am.

Their only chance was to leave the army well alone on the other side of the wall and not going after a fecking ice zombie. Unless they could cross because of Bran's mark, in which case Bran shouldn't have been parkouring about Winterfell in the very first episode. Moral of the story; if your mum tells you not to do something because it's dangerous, then don't do it.

Absolutely buzzing for this episode!

I’ve got work at 9am start, but couldn’t care less. Got the alarm set for 1.45am. Not waiting till tomorrow evening to watch this.

Also I just rewatched the first episode and Cersei going 'good' when told the army of the dead is through the wall was honestly ridiculous.

Yeah ok, I get not wanting to team up with Jon & co, but actively cheering an unstoppable horde of the undead which could lead to humanity's extinction? Surely she would be more than a bit apprehensive about the fact that the human army is very likely to lose the battle and if that happens, she and everyone else are doomed.

I mean she knows there are hundreds of thousands of them. She knows how hard they are to kill and that they've just smashed their way through a massive fecking ice wall that has stood for thousands of years, but this is all part of her master plan? It feels like all her bets are hedged on Jon's army winning the day (which the characters recognise is hardly a sure thing) because if the NK won she'd be properly fecked.

Who was it that said Cersei is a nutter? It'd be like if two countries are at war and one country was celebrating as the other was destroyed by a giant tsunami .. right as that same giant tsunami headed straight for them.

Yep, and i hope they don't do it! Not to sound too much like a nihilist, but i'm sort of rooting for the Night King. I actually quite like him. I suppose rooting for him is a bit strong, but i certainly don't dislike him. I do like some of the human characters but i really don't want to see the Night King go out in this episode. I'm convinced that valyrian steel isn't going to work on him and something cool is gonna happen regarding that.

I hope so anyway

I was just playing the new Mortal Kombat, and Noob Saibot is legit wearing the exact same emblem as the Nights’ King.

Maybe it’s like a meta-verse, like Stephen King novels or Marvel DC movies.

I think we can all agree that everything would have been a lot easier had they not handed a pissing frost dragon to the Night King on a plate.

That daring mission hasn't had enough criticism from characters on the show. Everybody behind it should immediately have been removed from a position of authority.

You a) achieved nothing because cersei (shock horror) isn't playing ball. Psycho bitch in not riding to the rescue shocker.

and b) handed the enemy its biggest military asset and the ticket to getting the army past the wall with total ease.

tits

Couldnt have said it better myself

Watching various Game of Thrones videos on YouTube pumping myself up for the new episode, and came across this part again. Still the best appearance from the Night king. Dude's a badass

Thanks mate. I meant missing the premier of the episode, but I appreciate you pointing out that it’s not live. Next thing you’re gonna tell me is that it’s all staged and Westeros isn’t a real place.

Well I was going to wait until you were old enough, but now that you mention it.

Although I heard they really did decapitate Sean Bean. Method actor that he is and all.
