Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Have you not seen blonde women's boobs?

And the king of the north's woman's bum
?

What more could you want?

I watches a video of all the sex scenes the other day. Pretty good.

Nothing on redtube yet.

I mean compare it to Robb Stark. He had people around him could trust and people around him he couldn't trust. He was meant to marry a Tully to cement the friendship between the two houses. He instead got in a relationship with that Skins woman with great tits.

If we hadn't had all that side story, we would never have got to see those boobs. But more importantly, the pay off would have been far smaller. And by the the pay off, I mean. Well, you know what I mean.

Didn't she keep saying "No" the first time they had sex? And drogo didnt know what he meant, even if he would have stopped?

To pornhub

The sex scenes are on various porn sites if anyone needs a recap

You are seriously addicted to porn and tits!

Season 7 and still the rules have to be quoted  If it can be understood by everybody before the season finale that would be amazing haha.

So with regards to Sam, hes gonna be making a copy of all those old books. What are we guessing that he finds in there

Most likely how the WW were defeated ages ago right? Dragonglass sounds easy, but imagine if that is the one thing that doesnt kill the night king, since it helped create him?
He'll stumble across a few more titbits about Valryian steel and dragonglass and how they can be used against the Army of the Dead. But I also think Sam will discover something to do with Rhaegar and Lyanna that the Citadel have attempted to bury, or allow to rot. But let's face it, by the time that Sam's finished at the Citadel there won't be a Castle Black to go back to, so I imagine he'll stay at Winterfell to be an aid to Jon during the war. This is where he'll meet Bran again and they'll piece together his visions with the knowledge Sam now has, and ta-da. They'll collate everything they've learnt together and tell Jon he's a feckin' Targaryen.

This thread doesn't half suck the life out of things

Youre right. I looked around online at reviews to see if there was this much nitpicking elsewhere, but fecking hell, most review sites are enjoying this season (the three ep arc so far), and whilst there are some complaints, they mostly focus on the positives.

This place however

Imagine if Brann dies before he meets up with Jon. Hes a cripple after all.

Bloke going on about reading books on coinage ffs. Get a life. If you read the thread for every TV show on here you'd think everything was garbage bar Rick & Morty and The Leftovers.

InfiniteBoredom at a Weiss and Benioff Q&A, more or less...

Medieval currency manipulation takes the biscuit in nitpicking nonsense.

We've been told for a long time that the number of episodes/ season was going to reduce for the last 2 seasons so anyway with a functionning brain would have guessed that the pace of the show would be picked up. You still find posters moaning about things happening too fast.

That was a good return to form that.. sot of episode you'd want to watch again as it was jam-packed but in a good way. Even the battles which were skipped over, were done so stylishly and it didn't look cheap unlike that shit battle from episode 2 (which I wish they had skipped over).

I really enjoyed Danaerys and Jon's scene. It was very awkward but so it should be as they're both from opposite sides of the world, with no clue who each other is with such different upbringings and outlooks on life. It was a superb juxtaposition between how egotistical Dany is, having been a princess all of her life despite her tough life to date whereas Jon is so humble and has no 'airs and graces'. I sincerely hope it doesn't blossom into romance but if it does, I hope it is given time to develop properly and not rushed otherwise it will come across lame.. so far, so good. When she finds out he has a better claim to the throne than her... will she welcome that or want to destroy him? Ser Davos sticking it on Misandei was also hilarious.

Tyrion was much more engaging this episode, and it is interesting to see that he still retains great judgement when it comes to matters of diplomacy but he is becoming very dispensable with regards to matters of military strategy. This is where Dany's entourage is massively lacking and she is going to need input from men of war like Jon, and Ser Jorah when he returns. Maybe losing Daario wasn't such a good call by her after all.

Bran has been getting a lot of stick by everyone, but for me it was good acting. The only issue was that Bran has gone from a boy coming to term with his powers, to suddenly this heartless cyborg instantaneously and there was no character development in between. Just a few more scenes with him prior to this episode which demonstrate him losing his sense of self would have meant this meeting with Sansa had more context. I think he is super important to the overall plot and short-changing him like this makes no sense to me.. we need more Bran - not less.

One thing I have to say is that the show is slightly losing its nerve with gratuitous revenge.. 'poisoning' seems very out of character for Cersei.. who I wanted to see go all mad queen and destroy her enemies via the Mountain but I guess the show writers don't want to distract from the plot and want to show Cersei is super calculating and has her eye on the final prize rather than caring about brutal revenge. Nevertheless I don't want the show to lose its nasty edge where anyone can die and brutally so.

Will miss Olenna, every scene she touched was marvellous. Another high calibre actor/actress which will be sorely missed.

I was thinking this about Bran and how his change happened. But then isnt this what happened to Jojen and kinda what Jojen said would happen, the more Bran wargs, the more he becomes like this. I think this is what we are seeing.

Also with regards to Cersei, she still has Ellaria. But it wouldnt surprise me if we never see her again and shes just left in the dungeons for our mind to fill in the rest.

It's like saying the Sauds will run out of money the moment they run out of oil.

Turn off your brain and enjoy the spectacle all you want. It is still stupid.

How about Venuzuela. Dubai (who have run out of oil) had to be bailed out by Abu Dhabi (who have lots of oil) in the GFC.

I'm generously going to assume that you aren't wumming here. The modmins are going to start handing out points for distracting wind ups from now on BTW.

It's an imperfect analogy, but Venezuela and Dubai for one, doesnt have the biggest oil reserve, and cannot set the price as they see fit.

The reality is more complicated than that due to the fact that medieval monarchies had no qualms about debasing they own currency by minting new coins, and whenever they do that they take a cut of the coins being turned in. A shortage of gold in the case of the sole supplier of Westerosi gold (or near enough to make no matter) would also make whatever amount of 'good gold' they've accumulated skyrocket in value. Tywin Lannister had all of those options at his disposal.

The mines ran dry many years ago and Tywin spent the reserves he had. He did not have to but he did in trying both to maintain and expand Lannister Power.

The image of Lannister power was as important as the reality, more so even in the event the source of their wealth ran dry. He made some bad moves in the great game if trying to keep his family atop the wheel. But if Cersei can now pay off the bankers then that part of the game worked out in the end.

Guys, I found a superb video on sword making from glass:

I implore you all to watch this if you want to get the best viewing pleasure out of Game of Thrones for the next episode after Jon digs up the dragon glass. After all, how else can we critique him if he doesnt follow this method and procedure which is documented and improved upon since medieval times (nor if he calls Gendry the only one in the realm who has the ability now to do it).
Dont be ignorant guys, please do watch so we can critique every little detail next episode :)

The Aztecs, Mayans and others made weapons from Obsidian.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macuahuitl

Jon might need to have Sam look up the Westeros equivalent of the Aztecs and get the plans for this. Though it seems fairly easy.

I reckon they'll mine all the dragon glass but then struggle to make any decent weapons out of it.

That's when Gendry rocks up in his boat to save the day.

Im guessing Dany isnt going to give Jon any men or resources other than Dragonglass. It will be interesting to see what Jon does. Is he going to help her at all or is his focus going to still be on the White Walkers?

Would be funny if we see a boat just floating... but inside its a corpse now.

I think she would give him men to mine the dragonglass, not actually go and fight with him.

Well that she HAS to cause its only Jon and Sir Davos. Unless Jon sends a raven to the North to ask his people to come to mine it and take it back.

You are overthinking this. You have been told what has happened and it is entirely plausible, yet in a fantasy world containing white walkers and dragons you choose to worry such minor detail.

To be fair, seeing your kid die slowly in front of you, without anything you can do about it, seems already pretty brutal.

Yeah she even explained having the Mountain crush your head would be poetic but the death would be too soon. She wants her to feel more pain and hence the poison.

Looking forward to some characters missing from the last episode showing up in the next. Sansa and Arya meeting up with the Hound again will be interesting.

How are those going to get together?

I like to think about my entertainment. It's like seeing Roman legionnaires slashing opponents with their gladius. It seems right for the mass but it's still wrong, and it becomes jarring if you know the mechanic behind it.

As I said before, if you prefer to suspense your disbelief to enjoy the fare, by all means, do. Just don't expect everyone to agree and invent increasingly far fetched explanation for what is essentially lazy and poor writing.

Just playing along.

But I had previously googled obsidian weapons just to see if anyone in real world history had ever made weapons from the material. Of course got a lot of links to weapons from MMO's and such.

I thought you were. But then realised which thread were in and some of the stuff that has been said, so couldnt tell

Double post but the new maester in Winterfell mentioned that maester luwin kept a record of every scroll sent by Ravens. (Littlefinger looked a little disturbed). I kinda have a feeling this will be important to reveal something but anybody got any ideas what it might be?

Initially I thought it might be to do with the Boltons, but im pretty sure he died before any deal was struck.
Then I thought it might be related to Arryn dying (it was LF afterall that had that Lysa write the scroll which started this all). But then from the two people who know, one died and one is LF).
Not sure what else it could be.
Unless it doesnt get mentioned ever again and was only for the purpose to find out what the longest winter was in the past 100 years ...

Wait until we see Snow's army manufacture thousands of swords from mined dragonglass in the space of twenty on-screen seconds... then the real fun in this thread will begin!

Wasn't that dude who rowed away on the boat (Gendry?) a blacksmith? He's gonna come back and make all the swords before taking his rightful place on the Iron Throne (the clue being Iron and it's links to the Blacksmith industry). This will throw everyone and reveal the real moral of the story is that people are best ruled by an honest working man (or woman - no sexist or paedophile jokes please...it goes without saying etc...)

To be fair, seeing your kid die slowly in front of you, without anything you can do about it, seems already pretty brutal.

A pretty horrible thing, especially as portrayed in the scene by the reactions of the two characters chains to the wall, one mother, one daughter , both knowing the daughter is going to die and nothing either of them can do about it to give comfort to each other. Pretty fecking horrible. It is torture in fact.

My wife is truly hoping to see Gendry comeback, marry Arya and they both end up ruling the 7 Kingdoms. She does like a fairy tale ending.
