Game 39: Croatia vs Portugal

Thought knock-out stages would be much more entertaining. Unfortunately so far I see no sign of it!

Portugal doing an excellent job on Modric and Rakatic so far.

Watch them boss the game and bag a brace each now.......

shit game but interesting line up by fernando santos...very tactical. Cedric because Vierinha would die against Perisic. Carvalho and Silva to bother Modric and Rakitic. And Fonte against Mandzukic areal threat perhaps?

Modrić hasn't been very good so far, 2,3 misplaced passes, wrong turns, seems like he's not 100% ready.

The feck is happening? Someone tell Ronaldo he's supposed to be taking the FK.

Perisic is like Two-Face. Looks completely normal from one angle and like he's removed all the skin from the side of his head and has a skull made of tea towels from the other.

Poland v Switzerland was a good game and this one has only lasted 25 minutes.

It's the type of game that could easily explode into life, but so far it's been cagey as feck

I actually came here to ask if Rakitic was injured or on the bench. Had no idea he was playing.

What's the story with William Carvalho

It was only in this Tournament I realised he was an out and out holding midfielder

Is this is normal role? Are clubs still after him?

Portugal have made the Croatian midfield look ordinary at best. A far cry from them tearing the arse out of spain

Is it just me, or is it a bit weird having a Spanish referee for this game?

Portugal should win this. They look to have so much more technical quality than Croatia even if it's not lead to anything yet.

I've not seen Andre Gomes do anything useful this tournament.
