Fyi

Being a mod is no fun and I have been a mod. You do lose track of posting having to read through every thread to edit and warn people and all for free - it starts off ok but eventually it's very hard to justify the time you put into it and what you get out of it is not much. You might make a few friends but everyone likes to mod in their own style and it's time consuming. Goodluck whoever get's it- if anyone does

ps: it's true you do never get thanks and the only compliments you get are the people sucking up :p

If I was a mod there'd be none of this having a go at mods shit

Mind you, I couldn't be arsed to do anything moddy

Life's full of these dilemmas eh?

I feel I've found a happy medium between the two

I've had it after only a couple of weeks.

I hate what moderating does to you, I hate being a hypocrite and I hate fighting an endless battle.

I've grown very tired of this site and it's members, in a very short space of time.

Moderating is simply not for me any more. You guys are all great and do a great job, but it's just not me.

I've removed my admin privileges

...

The primary reason is that I don't 'love' this site anymore. It gets my back up, the members do my head - and while I will always come here and strive to make it what it was - being a moderator only makes it worse.

In terms of hyprcorisy, it's all over. We're giving infractions for things we're doing ourselves (abuse, Wind-ups - see my Torres thread today).

Just so it's clear, this has NOTHING to do with any rival sites, I'm not registered over there any more.

Jaysus Blythy only seeing this now.

Chin up lad and thanks for everything over the years. I know you were always good at getting a favour done.

Thanks
Barry

Looks like there's going to be quite a few posters rushing to get that spot if it's open.

Don't see the point really, or for 'voting' for someone else, as the mods will pick another one themselves if they have to.

This isn't aimed at your post Van.

I see there's a void in the upper echelons of Caf power...

I feel only I, all round good guy and Caf favourite, can fill this. Be advised to move quickly for my services as my agent is rumoured to have received contact from SA.

Would you want to move to the Derby County reserves of internet forums though?

Why not another vote?

How could it possibly go wrong? :nervous:

And you are right. If we (or more particulalry Niall) feels the need to replace Blyhty or Weaste as Admin or mod then it will be done in the normal fashion.

At the moment there is no need but who knows closer to the start of the season?

The hardest thing in choosing is that good posters aren't always the best mods and others who might make great mods but we wouldn't even offer it to them because it would cramp their style. However, we normally come to a concensus fairly easily when we need to.

Sounds reasonable.

I don't understand the people who wants votes and elections and all that rubbish. It never leads anywhere and that will never be the method the mods choose to introduce another mod to the forum anyway.

It doesn't look like another mod is needed, but I can only comment from my view and it could well be wrong. Perhaps with the new season it might change but again I don't know enough on the subject. I think Blythy must be a good example of what you were saying Wibble.

I think that most of those who have thrown names out as potential mods, including myself, know full well that Niall will make the final decision. We could have an unanimous vote, but if Niall and the mods didn't think it was an appropriate choice, that person wouldn't get modship.

I just think it's interesting to throw names out there to see what everyone else is thinking...
