Television From - TV Series | Season 3 FINALE out now

Binged it over the last week and really enjoyed it. Was never too pushed on an explanation, I'm kind of assuming it's spooky, inter dimensional magic basically. Its a fun show.

What a final episode, actually stuff occurring throughout the whole episode rather than the last 5 mins.

Who was the guy killing Jim and how did his daughter know something bad was happening?

So did all of the creatures kill their children so they could live forever?

There still needs to be an explanation of how people end up in the place or maybe they’ve all been there before in some capacity.

Lots of questions. Hope they can get the pacing right in the next season.

The daughter is clearly a time traveler of sorts and probably saw that happening to Jim already. As for the guy, he seems kind of the leader of the monsters/the town? They've shown him before in some of the drawings. The man in the yellow jacket.

Well I’ve avoided all spoilers, leaks and anything finale related and gone in bareback.

What an episode, arguably the strongest since series 1 by a long way.

What annoyed me most was that the episode on IPTV was 73 minutes long, so I thought as it was ending that there was still 20 minutes left, and then the last 20 minutes was some promo bullshit for a different programme.

Smiley returning was a shock

Had a feeling that Jade and Tabitha had been there before but didn’t expect that one the Angkhooey kids was theirs and that they’d been there since the beginning.

Jim down, Ethan to go

Thanks, clearly switched off during the non action in some episodes and missed the details.

Well that was much better. My working theory is that the showrunners have a coherent, full story but it was written for about 2 seasons, and now they're forced to stretch it out a bit. Which is unfortunate, but honestly I can't name another MGM streaming show, so might as well try to ride the success.

So it seems the deal is that in some time period (guessing from how the creepy kids are dressed the 1800s?) some group of presumably religious whackos conjured some demon who cut a deal: terror/fear/suffering in return for immortality. So round up the lil'uns, slap em to some slabs and farm that fear. Everyones a winner. But, (at least) two don't wanna go along with it, I think kill the kids to end the suffering, which then negs the deal and requires a new source. Also the deal either initially or after that goes pear-shaped like all demon deals, and the immortality is actually this crazy monsters at night situation. And now we enter a cycle where the monsters have to create fear/suffering on living people, occasionally killing a few at which point their pool gets replenished with new trees hitting the road.

Hey, it's not amazing, but at least it's a coherent 'plot', and it isn't Lost.

Was it ever stated that Victors mum and Christopher both arrived on the same day? I remember Victor said that the last time 2 cars came in on the same day, everybody died. So if Tabitha and Jade came in on the same day, did Miranda and Christopher also come in on the same day?

Also, we now know that Tabitha and Jade are reincarnations of original townspeople who sacrificed their kids (unwillingly in the case) but is everyone in Fromville also a reincarnation of original townsfolk, doomed to be reincarnated and end up there in every iteration of their lives?

My head hurts just trying to figure it out.

Have you checked out Reddit? They must have figured it out already.

I did but I couldn’t find anything in between people speculating that everyone is some kind of pagan fairy and the monsters are actually leprechauns who have turned evil

Alright, dead Jim!

Much better finale. They could have a good show if they kept up that pacing.

Once I realised it the child thing was forming I knew it would be the smiley guy. Guessing it was some townspeople back in the 30s/40s who sacrificed their kids for immortality (maybe at the motel they sometimes reference) but the immortality was becoming these monsters.

I didn’t really get whether Tabitha and Jade just used to previously be Miranda and Christopher or they also used to be original members of the town. If so wouldn’t they just be monsters too? Why specifically those two have to come back as different reincarnations?

Also lo.l at the Julie wig. Why is it that they always treat the audience as stupid and feel the need to convey the future character is somehow different with new hair. It’s always new hair.

Both I think. I interpreted it as they were originals who decided not to sacrifice their child (or at least opposed it since it seems the child was sacrificed anyway).

Since then they keep being reincarnated and coming back, including as Miranda and Christopher, presumably to save the children and break the cycle.

Julie ripping out Elgin's eye was pretty feckin hardcore

Also, the monsters were definitely going to come up and kill Fatima right?

Again my one gripe is that if you have a monster that cant get shot or hurst easily and is strong a fk BUT cant run then I suggest you just fkn run. Why the likes of Jim face up to these monsters is beyond me. just run. They wont chase you. Or they will but at walking pace. Its ridiculous.

I guess maybe because it was during the day he thought this guy was different? Who knows. He died not listening to his family like he would’ve wanted.

The general consensus with the monsters is that they choose not to run. If you look at the flashback from episode 9 you can see the smiley monster moves at a fairly quick pace.

I think Tabitha+Jade/Miranda+Christopher go way back to the beginning of the town under different identities – the original were a couple and had a child (next bit is where I speculate) but they either didn't sacrifice their child or agreed to originally but changed their mind and ever since they've been on a loop where they're trying to rescue the kids but fail and a new cycle begins. And the anghkooey saying is the kids saying "remember what you promised "or some stuff like that.

Best interpretation of a character in the future coming to the present is future Hiro Nakamura. No glasses, a little goatee and samurai sword.

I think they did arrive on the same day, vaguely remember Victor mentioning it at some point.

I don't think they all are – just Tabitha and Jade. But there could possibly be more in the likes of Julie ("storywalker") and Ethan (knows fecking everything).

Looks like they’ll be going down the Lost style “whatever happened, happened” route with regards to time travel

This show is a bit shit, isn't it?
Yes, its 60% shit but 40% intriguing/fun/scary. You put up with the 60% (Julie, Tabitha, Fatima, Ethan Ellis) shit for the good 40% (Boyd, Victor, Jade, Kenny). I can't recommend this show to anyone but I'll keep watching

Its definitely not high art. Enjoyable though. I think the soap opera stuff makes it easier to watch and enjoy, it releases tension and it would be a very different show without it. Watching it weekly and being really engaged in the mystery side of the show would probaby be annoying more than anything. I think how you approach it will have a big impact on how much you enjoy it.

Never mind the soap opera, the mystery is also a bit shit. It's at times intriguing, but it's so poorly written that it just gets boring. It's a super interesting concept, but clearly they had no idea what they were going to do with it. You can say it's like Lost in that sense, but Lost was better in pretty much every way.

It doesn't help that the acting is so poor. At least Boyd is interesting.

Both Lost and this clearly have an idea of where they are/were going. Probably both padded out from the original goal. Both writers are doing a good job.

Just finished this, I'll chew on my thoughts for a bit but it felt like eps 1-5 great, 4-8 meh, 9 and 10 great.

Just realised it’s not Sunday so I look forward to making the exact same post tomorrow

Midway through series 2 at the moment and really like it. Very much more questions than answers at the moment so I hope we do get some answers soon.

Hope it all comes together to an actual conclusion as it's a really good show.

You'll be waiting until the very last episode of Season 3. It gets very frustrating but worth it I reckon.

As long as it's not like the ending of Lost  The whole series really reminds me of lost which I loved at the time.

I'm saying nothing, other than don't be tempted to read spoilers as it will ruin it for you. Go in dry.

You know me well.

Yea, I defo don't want to know anything in advance. The guessing and coming up with theories keeps it interesting.

I heard a rumour that season 4 will be all about the backstory of how the monsters come about. That’s going to be shit because I find the actors are all shit
