No idea to be honest. Why can't they just use the money they get from United to pay him off ?
I would love that. Can the mods add a filter that converts "levers" into "Barcelona are broke wankers" in the Football Forums?
I'm tired of seeing the word.

Seems to me the FDJ saga is clear cut. Frankie agreed to defer his wages by agreeing to a restructure in his contract. In other words, he signed off on a change in the contract that said that Barcelona will pay him more money during the last half of the contract and little money during the early half...rather than the traditional equal amount per year throughout the length of the contract. He voluntarily signed off on those changes. It is not a case of Barcelona keeping hold of his salary. He signed off because he really believed he was going to remain at Barcelona long term and that he was helping his club out in a tough time. Problem is, Legally, if he lives today, Barcelona do NOT owe him a single penny. This is why he hasn't taken Barcelona to court. If it was the traditional deferred situation, it would be a matter for the courts to decide and he would have already signed for manutd while the courts decide. The fact that he signed legally absolves Barcelona. Morally however, he feels that Barcelona owe him that money.
Onto the second step of this issue. FDJ is due a major pay hike on his contract next season + a loyalty bonus. Those 2 issues mean that Barcelona cant register their new players....this is what FDJ is aiming for. He hopes that those 2 issues will bring barcelona to the negotiation table such that they can agree on a payment plan for the money owed. This is why we keep hearing that the player wants to stay. The 'I want to stay' message is not meant for Manutd. Its not even related to manutd. Its meant for Barcelona. Its a signal to Barca that he is willing to fight the long fight. I think this will be resolved naturally as we draw near to the start of the season.
This is also why ETH is willing to wait. In addition, ETH knows that FDJ already knows the demands of his system hence why he is relaxed about him missing pre season. He knows FDJ will seamlessly slot into his system within a few weeks. I honestly think that if it was any one else, they would probably also remain till the issue is resolved. Infact remaining is the only way to get any form of payment for the monies owed. This is why rumors of chelsea moving for him may remain just that...rumors. The issue isnt about the club he is going to...its about Barcelona paying him the money he feels they tricked him out of
So it's been 10 weeks (71 days) since the original report that this deal was 95% done.
Yet, here we are, deal is still 95% done.
Nearly a thousand pages and people still misquoting this
Mate you need to start doing it better. It's a bit like sex. 95% of the time is foreplay.
Speak for yourselfIt's a bit like sex. 95% of the time is foreplay.
Yes lets see it @golden_blunderTitle thread change to "Frenkie de Jong - Transfer Buffering"
Bro we must be brothers!I agree, it's either done or not done. Unrelated, but can we also ban the term "give 110%". Not possible to give more than 100%.
Did he?
I thought he said he wants the right players, the quote wasn't "Frenkie y nada mas"... Please...
Actually I'd welcome anyone to prove to me that FdJ is so much better than T.Neves?
The last is also deep lying playmaker, plus he is PL proven, while Frenkie is Barca flop.
Forget it and move on.
He didn't really say this though
Basically said we have alternatives but we don't know who they are or if they are available
May as well fast forward to the next stage: Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.Yes lets see it @golden_blunder
Good summary of the situation and matches my understanding as well. This can drag on until deadline day (or until whenever Barca actually need to file their FFP report with La Liga).
I will start getting concerned if Barca actually manage to register Raphinha, Lewa and the rest of the squad (including FdJ) with La Liga. That's the point at which we'll know they're not forced to sell anymore.
Really? Think it would be quite tragic for a club like Barcelona to cease to existI would absolutely love to see them go bust.
I would absolutely love to see it. The way they operate is absolutely outrageous.Really? Think it would be quite tragic for a club like Barcelona to cease to exist

Not to mention they feel embarrassed by the whole thing. For some on this forum, sex is 99% begging, pleading, crying and rocking themselves to sleep in a fetal position after a consolation tug.
That third lever will mean that Barcelona will make only 51% off of their merchandising and licensing. If they do choose to go in that direction, then they'll potentially lose out on lots of revenue. They won't want to go there unless they have absolutely no other option.
I dont want to see any club go out of business. It wouldnt bring me any joy at allWhy?
Yeah literally, one of the more annoying things of this saga.Nearly a thousand pages and people still misquoting this

Well when a club does shady business like Barcelona it would only serve them right.I dont want to see any club go out of business. It wouldnt bring me any joy at all
Waiting for that sound, that sweet sound of making a connection.
Such a waste of 114 seconds. It's a bit like sex. 95% of the time is foreplay.
Yeah, I bet he’s told FDJ he won’t get selected for Netherlands if he’s not playing regularly…oh hold on a secI wonder if Van Gaal has scared De Jong off as timber did.
I would think we should see something in the next week or so, maybe not the coming days, but i'd say in the next week or two.Surely if this is going to progress @Berbaclass @Brownie85 we will see some movement in coming days?
Logic would say that if Barca are going to budge they do it with the activation of the new lever which I believe is today?
