- There's only one United!
Seems that Barca also bought Lewandowski apart from Raphinha.
And Laporta comes across as economically sensible? The debt was from the previous regime. Bartomeu was a complete clown.
The debt isn’t what’s fecking them up. It’s how they handled Spanish FFP that’s forcing them into this mess and that’s on Laporta. The debt was from the previous regime. Bartomeu was a complete clown.
pretty level headed from Howson (apart from the clickbait title)
They've sold 10% of their TV rights for the next 10 years and they're in the process of selling another 15%So are Barcelona just going to default on all these transfers at some point? What's the end game here? It would appear they're spending money they literally haven't got and can't afford to pay back
They've spent on a lot of money in January, so they could get ... second? Laporta is also responsible now.The debt isn’t what’s fecking them up. It’s how they handled Spanish FFP that’s forcing them into this mess and that’s on Laporta.
and Romero has already broken news that they are going for KoundeSeems that Barca also bought Lewandowski apart from Raphinha.
How can they sell their TV right's if La Liga own them? I know they sold merch rights and some other rights but was that TV rights? They've sold 10% of their TV rights for the next 10 years and they're in the process of selling another 15%
They have money, Its wages that's the issue. FDJ is on something like 14 or 15 million euro a year.
It's the big earners they need to get rid off.
I'm sure we are. We've been hearing from the United side that they wanted the deal done by Friday. That has now passed so you would assume other targets are being spoken to also.We are playing a very risky game, if he joins and fail to impress in his first few months, the fans and the press will be calling for his head with the very famous sentience "he did not want to be here in the first place" even if it is not true. We cant put all our eggs in his basket. We must identify alternative options with the same traits.
They get money from the TV rights each year. I don't know the technical stuff exactly. Those yearly payments (worth a total of 400 million euros) are going to whoever bought them, in exchange for 200 million up front. How can they sell their TV right's if La Liga own them? I know they sold merch rights and some other rights but was that TV rights?
Surely if they sell the other 15% anyway they have the money to pay salaries.
Considering how Barca treated him, that they then I doubt that he would want to stick around. He's probably playing that tune out of fear of fans reprisal + there's no guarantee that United will entertain this farce forever.
Seems like without FDJ, Ten Hag's grand master plan will fail for sure...
Why? Have we not seen improvements already? Can you not see a clear idea of what he is trying the get the players to do? I mean yesterday is a great example - we changed the entire team at HT and we still played the same way. The players are getting drilled well, we will (and have) sign other players and if Frenkie doesn’t come we will be more than fine!Yeah spectacularly so
There are none, we arent signing Kimmich, Modric or Verrati. We are playing a very risky game, if he joins and fail to impress in his first few months, the fans and the press will be calling for his head with the very famous sentience "he did not want to be here in the first place" even if it is not true. Curry or Senna sometimes works. So what’s the word you guys ? I’m really looking for some movement here.
Okay, so the quarterly TV rights payments they get, they're pre-selling almost one quarters worth in return now for a lump sum that see's them miss out on 10% of their TV revenue for the next 25 years? I'm sure Donald Trump said something about the Iran deal that fits this situation. They get money from the TV rights each year. I don't know the technical stuff exactly. Fabian Ruiz has similar traits and is a very good deep lying playmaker. There are none, we arent signing Kimmich, Modric or Verrati.
The reason why Frenkie was so expensive in the first place, is because he's so unique and few young players can play that role like that.
So what’s the word you guys ? I’m really looking for some movement here.
Your maths and info are incorrect. Its La liga only TV revenue not all TV revenue for one. 600m euros expected to be made by the firm was for the full 25% not 10%. Barca will receive 520m euros for the full 25% and will no longer sell the merch companyOkay, so the quarterly TV rights payments they get, they're pre-selling almost one quarters worth in return now for a lump sum that see's them miss out on 10% of their TV revenue for the next 25 years? The firm buying the rights for TV and merch said they hope to make €600m off both deals (€1.2b total) and Barcelona have settled for €200m now. Absolutely fecking car crash.

Barca director said players had to be sold when talking about FDJ to press. Tour squad is announced today, if he's not on it, could be a good sign that something progressed around his payout. If he's on the tour, this thread is about to generate 100 pages of "walk away" posts and likely means this transfer has a VERRRY long way to go.
They could have possibly popped some senna in FdJ’s food to prep him for the USA trip.Do Arnold and Murtag know about this ?
Okay, well why not enlighten me and others instead of making the effort to post that one sentence from your position of higher knowledge?Your maths and info are incorrect.

I think it’s because they can only spend a percentage of it on transfers and only so much contributes towards salary cap. That’s honestly shocking. How deep in the shit are they that selling large portions of future income (not just any income but Barcelonas) and it still doesn’t cover one transfer window?

I don't think so at all, though he's a good player. I don't think Fabian Ruiz is anywhere near as press resistant and dynamic as Frenkie is.Fabian Ruiz has similar traits and is a very good deep lying playmaker.
Agree. Wouldnt mind Ruiz though but we have Bruno, Donny and EriksenI don't think so at all, though he's a good player. I don't think Fabian Ruiz is anywhere near as press resistant and dynamic as Frenkie is.
He is more creative, and gets in more advanced positions. He's rather an 8, which Frenkie isn't. Although being used as one at Barcelona.
I think he would be a good signing though, mind, but not what ETH needs in that position. He'd need to buy another CDM.

Im shocked they haven’t tried some bullshit accounting trick with other clubs to get around this. Maybe there isn’t one i suppose.I think it’s because they can only spend a percentage of it on transfers and only so much contributes towards salary cap.

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sell 10 per cent of their La Liga TV rights for the next 25 years to global investment firm Sixth Street Partners.
The deal will generate €267 million (£230 million) of revenue for this season’s accounts, with Sixth Street initially investing €207.5 million (£179 million) for its share of Barcelona’s TV rights.
Barcelona members agreed at an EGM on June 16 to sell up to 25 per cent of their La Liga TV rights to one or more investors.
The members also agreed to sell 49.9 per cent of the Barca Licensing and Merchandising (BLM) arm of the club, in order to raise capital to balance the books for the 2021-22 season.
The club said they hoped to make €600 million from both arrangements, in order to turn a profit and allow them to “make Barca a competitive team”.
Barcelona’s dire financial situation has been well-documented, with Laporta inheriting debts in excess of €1 billion from his predecessor Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Barcelona have agreed deals to sign Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen and AC Milan’s Franck Kessie on free transfers, but have been unable to register them due to their financial constraints.
In order to help register new arrivals and ease their restrictions last season, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets all took salary cuts to aid Barcelona’s situation, with Samuel Umtiti restructuring his contract.

No. They will raise 520m euros. Original aim was I believe 600-700m. However they raised more from TV rights and no longer want to sell the merchSo the club are looking to raise €1.2b from the sale of the rights it seems, which is a huge amount of money and could actually work for them.
