We should just end negotiations after Laportas comments, explain the same to De Jong. Put the ball back in Barcas court if they want to reopen negotiations. Our appeal has weakened further in the last 24 hours with Ronaldo now wanting to leave. We dont want to chase this player and not get him as that means the price for lesser talented targets will inevitably increase now.

I feel like every reputable news outlet would have a story up by now if the worst case scenario was happening. A lot of these reputable sources have said it’s close to happening and they would need to put out a story quick to say why it’s suddenly off, or risk losing credibility.
