Berbaclass
Fallen Muppet. Lest we never forget
Awful source.
What's with the italics?
Could a transfer turn out bad? Is that your whole point?
Erm, ok, yes it can. Every transfer ever can go either way.
That is true, but not really what I was getting at......ETH must have confidence in FDJ to start with, that is a given, but with two years of under performing to the level expected, it must weigh on FDJ's mind that's probably why he's become the 'sacrificial lamb' for Barca. It also may resonate with ETH, that getting FDJ settled in at OT and lifting his performances back to the level of his Ajax days may not be achieved overnight. Can ETH afford to take 'special measures' with FDJ's induction to the squad, or does Frenkie have to take his chances with the rest of the players?
As we all know both ETH and FDJ (if he comes!!) are not walking into a peaceful, tranquil, brotherly love environment at the club, the last thing ETH can afford to do is to be seen to be playing 'favourites'... with anybody!
He is ITK to some extent, not sure how - maybe knows someone who works at the clubWho the fudge is Paddy?!
He's an oddball. Sometimes has an interesting point of view on things but when the chips are down he'll always pick the "grumpy old bollocks" end of the spectrum and stick firmly within the shit-smeared circle.
Awful source.
He's bandwagoning. It's fairly obvious the deal should happen so lots of people see it as a bit of a free hit.Didn't put it in main Twitter thread for that reason. The guy gets early Utd team news regularly. Just adding it in as something to compliment the other sources which seem to be similarly positive about this heading in the right direction.
Frenkie even in underwhelming form is fecking miles better than Fred or McTominay, so your point is pretty fecking moot.
He’s not coming into a Chelsea side with Kante and Jorginho is he man?
I know you desperately want to spin the negative possibilities of this move, but that’s a case with every signing ever, and when buying such an obvious massive upgrade… well, the positives far outweigh the negatives.
We won't announce him until he can say he's happy to be here without crying. Might take a few weeks more.
I never did like those announcement videos where they pretend they always dreamed of playing for Manchester United. I think a hostage style video with Frenkie crying would be a welcome change. We won't announce him until he can say he's happy to be here without crying. Might take a few weeks more.

Lets hope so! Remember hearing something like that about Pogba, even on a sh*t day he was better....
He is the guy who got line ups early for much of last season in think. He definitely knows someone at the club.Who the fudge is Paddy?!
I though this at first, but this seems to be a different Twitter handle? He is the guy who got line ups early for much of last season in think. He definitely knows someone at the club.
Awful source.
Bit fecking weird that considering we bought Pogba before either of them made an appearance for United.
There are very few players over the years I really really regret United not pushing harder for - and Robben was one of themChelsea gazumped us for Mikel and Robben but for Hazard, there were moves from both clubs but he eventually chose Chelsea.
This one is different since we made the move first and have a fee agreed in principle. For Chelsea to gazump us, the offer must be higher than 65 million which is a significant investment for them, considering the other big budget moves they are making. They don't have a free flowing budget just because there is a new owner.
who the heck is "Paddy"?We really need to ban these shite sources from being posted on here.
Nice to know, PADDY.

Paddy Crerandwho the heck is "Paddy"?
I rather doub that...Paddy Crerand
Having a source for team lineups is one thing. Transfers are completely different.Well he isn't as unlike most he clearly does have a source at the club whether it's enough to confirm this deal is done is a question but he is actually someone who might really know things and not guess it
Think you've missed the point again!
Pogba was supposed to be the 'all singing all dancing' answer to our mid field prayer, but we still needed both Fred and McT on many occasions, despite their talents (and salaries) being considered way less than Pogba's... just to grind out some results.
Don't you think that with all the hype that's going on, over the 'extraordinary' talents of this player added to by FDJ's own "I don't really want to leave Barca" wimping, that if he doesn't hit the ground running there will be tears before bedtime in many United fans homes.
Alan Shearer once described becoming a United player was akin to living in a goldfish bowl, (and that's why he didn't) and with all the 'dog's breakfast' going on at OT at the moment it will also be a 'pressure cooker' as well.
Will FDJ's arrival be hailed as the second, or third or fourth coming of a our 'saviour' and does he know what he's in for if he doesn't perform?

to be fair, it wasn't high expectations that made me criticise Pogba - it was that he hardly ever looked like he cared. For a "world-class" midfielder, he want missing in far too many games for my liking. But you're right, we've never really replaced Michael Carrick - I'm not sure we ever even replaced Paul Scholes...Fans expected Pogba to be the answer for the midfield and fix our whole midfield by himself. He didnt and that is one of the reasons fans turned against him. If those same fans expect Frenkie to fix our midfield by himself than Frenkie de Jong is going to be disappointment for those fans too. Signing de Jong wont give us the best midfield in the league and i dont think it will ever be the best midfield in the league as long as McT is a part of our midfield. However Frenkie de Jong will be an excellent first step to building a good midfield. Frenkie this year and another top quality midfielder next year.
Fans just need to have a bit more patience i think. Manchester United hasnt had a decent midfield since Carrick still played football. It will take some time to fix the midfield or the whole club in general. I am expecting threads or matchday thread include posts calling de Jong or ten Hag a fraud. It is just the way football fans are unfortunately.
Frenkie de Jong is pretty boring though. I doubt you will find him at many fashion shows or on social media trying to build a brand. I doubt he can dance either. He is just a boring professional footballer so fans and media might give Frenkie de Jong a bit more time than they gave Pogba before turning against him.
Interested if our move breaks down.
If Fred could learn to read the game and to be in the right part of the pitch he would be brilliant. He can’t though.I personally think that Fred will complement him well as he doesn't have the highest defensive work rate and Fred is someone that puts a lot of work in. If we can teach him to be better positionally then it might be an interesting combo.
