A few days to submit a new offer? Love the streamlined approach.
Simon's post was such a flex.
He dropped the knowledge, but he slipped in closing that seven million deal too.
Thanks for the insight (assuming you're not bullshitting )As long as I don't give details about the clients in question that's fine. No way for you guys to know who I'm talking about especially since it could be anywhere in europe.
From a general standpoint, I don't think that the "details" or the legal aspects cause an issue. It's also unlikely United can't finance the deal. So I'd assume there's still disagreements about major elements of negociation. Simonhch is right though, could be the overall price, the number of instalments (3 instalments is pretty standard but Barcelona might want less than that if they need liquidities right now) bonuses etc.
From what I've witnessed, the deal is usually leaked by the press before the "details" are even sorted out because it's rarely what stop the deals.
Of course it's not simple, but I also don't think that it should take more than a couple of days to structure another offer unless it's completely different from the 1st one. And if that's the case, it would mean that United and Barcelona are still very far from reaching an agreement.
Goldbridge doesn't know his arse from his elbowGoldbridge is expecting this to be concluded Thursday or Friday this week and an announcement that we have agreed a fee with Barcelona. Let's see.
if United don't get De Jong this week the tour is only 2 weeks away then. And that will be another few weeks wasted as we never sign players on tour so you are looking at another month if United can't get it over the line before the tour. So a crucial week really to get a body in before the tour. Just to give the club a lift and raise fans up. It's so toxic and negative around United right now.. the club and fans need a signing before the tour..
De Jong will need to return from Las Vegas to do the medical, pimp the shirt, find a house to live etc so I suspect it's this week a deal needs to be agreed or it'll be another month or longer to get United and Barcelona to compromise on a deal.
I just hope if we don't get De Jong we have the Ruben Neves deal ready to go fee Agreed with Wolves etc straight away. We need a new signing for the tour.
You probably posted in the wrong thread (it's about Arnold I assume).Ed Woodward was here for almost a decade and it really wasn't until the tail end of that that the majority of fans saw through his facade and pinpointed him as one of the major bottlenecks in this club being successful again.
Fans turned on Moyes immediately, then LVG then Jose and even Ole before the general consensus was Woodward was Ultimately responsible and the numb nuts started showing up outside his house.
The new guys have been on the job and the same numb nuts , both in Manchester and online , are quick to anger and judgement before a single transfer window has gone by. One in which it's a new manager that just joined , one who dismissed the technical consultant who was in place and lined up target suggestions. We started from scratch with Rangnick gone.
And yet here we are - the pain and resentment that built up over so many years is being misdirected because of fear of the same sht happening again. I get it. But my goodness it's leading to some unhinged behavior like showing up at the new ceos house and the after he does a solid of opening up, trashing him on Twitter and calling it a PR stunt.
Maybe it was a PR stunt but thats a moot point when you look at the thuggish behavior leading up.
One transfer window. One season. You have to give them all at least that. No matter how painful the process might seem. You're a fan not running the damn club. Right now the forum and stadium is just full of pain and resentment. It will take great restraint to get through this as a fan without coming off as entitled, unreasonable and insufferable.
Might as well channel the namesake here:

Surely that would question the starting spot for Bruno and just after his contract has been upgraded?Van Der Kraan is ETH's buddy. So this is as reliable as it will get.
Ten Hag didn't extend his contract, and no one should be guaranteed a starting place for any reason other than being in excellent formSurely that would question the starting spot for Bruno and just after his contract has been upgraded?
Very much so.Rapidity of the deal isn’t the metric by which we should be judging the success of a signing. It only becomes a factor when it drags on so long as to damage the player’s integration into pre-season training. A point we haven’t come close to reaching yet.
Yet there’s something in this as well. What we do know is Uniteds big signings are always drawn out in public and other clubs do a much better job of avoiding the circus, they don’t always avoid it but we never do and thats a problem. At United though Woodward welcomed and fuelled it. I hope this new regime goes the other way.
Why are you posting this here? Totally agree with you.Ten Hag didn't extend his contract, and no one should be guaranteed a starting place for any reason other than being in excellent form
Responses were great though.Simon's post was such a flex.

Great post. Should be sticked on every page, unbelievable how many people fail to realise that doing deals worth multiple millions is not the same as buying a fecking bag of potatoes from your local farmers' market.

Cafite - why can't we just use money science to buy him instantly?
@simonhch - I'm a money scientist and here's an explanation on why it's not as simple as that.
Cafites - omg condescension much
Van Der Kraan is ETH's buddy. So this is as reliable as it will get.
I only insult the posters that I know can take it, and also know I'm only joking. Posters that I respect. And sometimes if I get bored of that I also insult @SoliusI’m going to cherish this post because usually you are concocting some devious and devilishly eloquent fiction porn to make fun of something I’ve said.
city may offer a swap!
Wrong. SAF played him as part of a two in midfield from the start. I remember people in Brazil were very surprised by that. One of SAF's weaknesses was finding room for floating tens like Anderson, who are not really midfielders, or forwards, but really creators.
Anderson had other issues. His diet for one. Like Rafael da Silva said, he didn't take his profession as seriously as he should've.
I'm absolutely stunned how many players are linked to Barcelona despite their dire financial situation. Koundé is another player worth 60 million Euro or more.
According to the Catalan journalists Silva's wages WILL be lower than FDJ's.
City don't need to sell Silva but he's wanted to leave since last year so it's a case of respecting his wish.
Buddy doing him no favoursVan Der Kraan is ETH's buddy. So this is as reliable as it will get.

It makes sense as well considering that player transfers were quite a straightforward affair in the old days and probably just gotten roide up money wise with some added clauses involving royalties etc etc.
I agree, a few days is reasonable. Maybe two, maybe three, or even four. My whole argument was someone saying that was unreasonable. And that we really don’t know any specifics to make any rational judgement.
I don’t think you and I are in disagreement.
If you’ve got it, flex it.
In all seriousness, it was a comparative. It’s tiny in deal terms compared to what several people on here do, and not even very complicated in technical terms. So the real comparison was the timeline. But you know Caf gotta Caf. It’s always about something other than the logic of the argument.

The sad thing is it needs more than one signing (not counting Eriksen here because if he came, he wouldn't be part of that middle 2)I feel like I’ve been waiting for someone at the club to say midfield is the most important position to fix for about 12 seasons
I know nothing about it but the idea of a whole team of people, right up to Arnold, working continuously, with barely time to sleep, for weeks, on this deal is baffling.I agree, a few days is reasonable. Ten Hag: Get me the unicorn! Glazers: Here are two donkeys and an ox.

What on earth could they be doing? I wish I knew (and I don’t really care if we get FDJ or not).
