In all seriousness, it was a comparative. It’s tiny in deal terms compared to what several people on here do, and not even very complicated in technical terms. So the real comparison was the timeline. But you know Caf gotta Caf. It’s always about something other than the logic of the argument.

I agree, a few days is reasonable. Maybe two, maybe three, or even four. My whole argument was someone saying that was unreasonable. And that we really don’t know any specifics to make any rational judgement.

Ed Woodward was here for almost a decade and it really wasn't until the tail end of that that the majority of fans saw through his facade and pinpointed him as one of the major bottlenecks in this club being successful again.
Fans turned on Moyes immediately, then LVG then Jose and even Ole before the general consensus was Woodward was Ultimately responsible and the numb nuts started showing up outside his house.
The new guys have been on the job and the same numb nuts , both in Manchester and online , are quick to anger and judgement before a single transfer window has gone by. One in which it's a new manager that just joined , one who dismissed the technical consultant who was in place and lined up target suggestions. We started from scratch with Rangnick gone.
And yet here we are - the pain and resentment that built up over so many years is being misdirected because of fear of the same sht happening again. I get it. But my goodness it's leading to some unhinged behavior like showing up at the new ceos house and the after he does a solid of opening up, trashing him on Twitter and calling it a PR stunt.
Maybe it was a PR stunt but thats a moot point when you look at the thuggish behavior leading up.
One transfer window. One season. You have to give them all at least that. No matter how painful the process might seem. You're a fan not running the damn club. Right now the forum and stadium is just full of pain and resentment. It will take great restraint to get through this as a fan without coming off as entitled, unreasonable and insufferable.

We’re only gonna sign 1 player before the tour then? Unless we get de jong done this week then that gives us a week or 2 to sign a couple more players who hopefully will be less complicated. A bit optimistic I know as it takes us at least 3 weeks to submit an offer for a target.

Part of it is just that United are still the biggest click generators. But yes I think you’re right that Woodward enjoyed and encouraged it. I think the new regime will be a good deal more circumspect, despite the ludicrous criticism Arnold is getting for allegedly being “loose tongued” yesterday. It may not happen overnight though.

Nah, in all fairness though, among the players represented by my clients, only one player is a starter in a top3 team in its league so I haven't seen all the variations possible in every contracts.
I do talk to agents on a regular basis though (about their business or football in general)
Probably not. I was probably a bit quick to respond since I'm working on the biggest deal my law firm ever had that involves a company owning 12000+ pieces of heavy duty machinery and it's a nightmare, I was like "man, it would be so much better to work on player transfer"

A 7 million £ project might be way more complicated than a 70 million £ one. The price says nothing about the complexity of the deal.
In business the pre sales process is the one taking a lot of time, especially if there are many competing parties involved.
Pre sales includes to figure out whether the player is willing to join and Barcelona is willing to sell. Then the player might have several clubs he can choose. These things can take time.
Once the Barcelona agreed to sell and the player confirmed to join, the real sales process starts, which can be concluded rather quickly.
I'm sure United has standard contracts on hand that can be modified in hours to fit three current transfer. I have no idea why it takes many days before a second offer is made. I'm sure both, United and Barcelona, know their limits. Either there will be an agreement or not, no reason to drag on for weeks.

This part is clearly BS from Arnold, you might have long meetings right before closing to sort the last details but there's absolutely nothing that would justify that a whole team spends weeks in Barcelona on this deal only.
