Good grief what an assessment of one of the top 3-5 midfielders in the world. He's easily not only better than those two, but also the kind of player who will understand the importance of the plan and tactics and potentially be Captain material too. I'm certain that Ronaldo would be far more productive being supported by players like De Jong and Eriksen who can actually string passes together and read play for a nice change.

Tielemans and Neves are good players who would be a solid improvement McFred, but that's about it.

Our entire team would be far more productive if we had one or two midfielders who can run & pass at an average level ffs.

Let alone someone like FDJ.

They want around the same amount Havertz and Pepe went for.

Pretty sure the club will be able to find an agreement between 75-80m in the end likely including achievable add-ons

Havertz’s deal without add ons was around €70m and with add ons was €80m. Barca are taking the piss, he’s hardly pulled up any trees there, they’re desperate for money and still think they can demand such a ridiculous fee.

No Havertz cost €80m fixed + €20m add-ons, so the same as Nunez or Tchouameni recently.

Mostly because they know United will pay it, we have no alternatives.

How do you know that?

The one target at a time thing has been widely reported as was the bureaucracy and process when we go sign players.

This was definitely true under Woody and it seems to be true so far under Murtough as well.

This is another Sancho...move on and let's get some players in before the tour ffs. How many times is it going to take for the club to learn to negotiate with some pace. How difficult is it even to produce some conceptual fees?

We signed Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlein on the same day. It’s all nonsense.

Sancho plays for United mate.

Ten Hag future success rely on one of this factor and ingredients. If Ten Hag can get De Jong. Then i can say he and United will send out a statement and sign. To really mean it. To compete with the best teams in premier league.
Because i dont see any other really good creative and offensive cm player who are close up there with De Bruyne. Maybe Jude Bellingham can be a world class in the future. But at this moment. Right now. Realistic targets. Frenkie De Jong is the closest to De Bruyne offensive, attacking and creative level. Not only Bruyne pass and pass ability. But all basic ball ability. Ability to make good run forward with the ball, hard to take the ball from. At last of all. Ability to score. All those abilities are making De Bruyne a world class RCM player. Reallly consistent on a really high level.

De Jong, Bellingham and Tielemans. I am most convince of De Jong. At this moment. He will be a key and important ingredients to Ten Hag success with United.

Everyone knows United and Ten Hag want De Jong. So i will say De Jong is a must buy category. No secret and cards to hide. A statement buy. And it will help to attract others top qualities players too. To convince them to join United. Then you have to show them the qualities of teammates they will play with. Highest and closest level of teammates of possible. Joining a winning dominating team.

Like Ten Hag said. Good is not good enough. United shall go after the best or closest to the top level as possible. After De Bruyne top world class level. If we are not mention Joshua Kimmich. Then De Jong creative and football skills are really high too. On a consistent level.

And one more thing. If you are buying a offensive and creative player like De Bruyne. Will you use him as a DCM. When a United team is crying out for a creative cm player? When your team De Bruyne and De Jong creative and offensive role more than his deep laying passing abilities?

Then i will suggest United.

Buy De Jong this summer transfer. And if Fred and Garner and De Jong in need if those others 2 can help United to top 4 spot early in the season. Then De Jong will play there more regularly there. But hopefully Garner bring out the beast in him, max himself up.

Then this season 22/23 :

Eriksen/DVB - Fred/Garner/De Jong - Bruno/DVB can be the line up

If Fred and Garner doesnt have what it takes to play as a DCM to help United to win the league. But only top 4 level.

Then next transfer window and season 23/24. Declan Rice will go into his last year of his contract. Running out in 2024. And his transfer fee will get lower. Then buy Declan Rice to free and move De JOng a more offensive attacking role to help the attacking front 3 more.

Season 23/24:

Bruno/Eriksen - Rice/Fred/Garner - De Jong/Bruno

There you have. A midfield of Bruno - Rice - De Jong. This 3 men cm midfield trio can compete with Liverpool and City and good enough to win the premier league.

Get De Jong this summer and Declan Rice next summer. United can try to bid a 70 £ mill plus add for Rice this summer too. But i doubt West Ham will sell him under 100 £ mill. But just bid for Rice. To show that United are interest in him. Then on his last year of his contrac next summer. 50 £ mill with add on if Rice is helping United to win premier league.

And why Rice? Because he Rice is dominant player. Rice has that dominance presence. And with Rice infront of the back 4 and defend line. Shield them but at the same type dictate and spread the ball around from the deep. And with 2 offensive and creative cm player on each side of him in Bruno and De Jong. Can and i think and convince cm trio Bruno - Rice - Jong be key factors and ingredients of United future domination and success.

De Jong and Declan Rice. I suggest those 2. Have Rice is for the reason hard to beat as a team. Look at England. England is a team hard to score against. I think Rice is one of the key reason and factor of it.

Jong for the consistent offesnive and creative role and abilities.
Rice for the balance and more defensive and hard to beat reason.

A hard team to beat and at the same time really good in the offensive and attack;)

If there's people watching the Netherlands match for FdJ, I suggest to keep an eye on Gakpo as well. I think he is a better alternative for United on the wings than Antony.

Gakpo is a right footed LW, not something we really need. He's a better fit for Arsenal who are linked with him. Antony plays in a position we need.

So by all reports by Anthony and De Jong are very advanced and folk are still spouting this?

Think he’ll end up a centre forward.

He is nothing like De Bruyne, neither in terms of style nor quality.

Exactly. Add to the fact that we already have an offer for Eriksen and were in advanced talks with Nunez(pulled out when Liverpool submited an improved offer), actually held talks with Timber's entourage. The thing is out there, we are definitely conducting business in a different manner this summer.

I believe he does not have any say in the transfers or negotiations though. He officially leaves next month.
Yeah Judge is just helping out until he leaves since he would have been the point person for all the agents and clubs we'd been in contact with. Just a transfer of power to not leave the club going in blind.

You just want to keep Antony in Amsterdam!

I think Memphis and Bergwijn were both better than Gakpo when at PSV and they both havent really made in England. Gakpo needs a step inbetween PSV and a club like Manchester United.

Agreed if he was still 21/22 like Havertz was when sold and like when Frenkie was when sold to Barce then fair enough but he isn't. He is 25 now and has basically stagnated for the past three years, he's playing worse than when Barce bought him, 3 years older, on astronomical wages and they want more than they paid?

I know it's not his fault as he has been playing in a different/worng position for the majority of his time there but it still doesn't change the facts. A players form and age are the biggest variables when it comes to a players valuation and both are worse for de Jong now then when Barce bought him.

They can keep renting out the Camp Nou for weddings and bar mitzvahs for the next 50 years.

bin off the stupid add ons, meet half way and offer 70/75 mill euros straight up and if they don't take it move on.

I'd prefer Eriksen, Tielmans and Neves to wasting our time or overpaying for De Jong.

One answer, Inflation mate :)
Really though, feels like the only perks we get as a big club is we're still an attractive prospect for mangers.
Every beat of bad news concerning us gets sensationalised by the press. just imagine if we has signed Bissouma!
Players don't really fancy us as big club. Main reason we have a shot at De Jong is ETH.
Whenever we go to buy players we get dumb prices.
We're not the richest kid either. It's more like get treated like the dumbest rich kid.
Hopefully ETH gets what he needs and it all works out but man... it's a test of patience being a United fan these past few years.

Really don't know what people see in Tielemans and Neves. Better than what we have now yes, but nowhere near good enough.
