Yaaas Broncos!
So the price is somewhere between €70m to €100m, it’s almost like these people are guessing.
No offence but that probably says more about your knowledge of European football than his ability. He scored more goals than Haaland in the Champions League and has more goals than the likes of Son and Salah in his domestic league. A lot of people consider him a nailed on star of the future including the likes of Cavani and Suarez. Even during his first season at Benfica I saw lots of people recommending him for United even when he wasn’t scoring for fun.If you're talking about the fee, then yes its a big transfer.
If you're talking about the player, then no. Haven't heard of this lad before.
andy caroll was a bigger name ffs. Turned out fantastic for them
Yeah I really hope we know one way or the other for sure by the weekendI just hope the report of ETH setting a deadline for this transfer was correct..
Wait till the end of the week and if we cant agree on a fee, move on and start getting players in..
And also, spending 85m on him doesnt sound like a great idea considering how many players we need.
The wording on that was also "if the signing can be completed", which is more just "is it actually happening or are we hoping for a big change" and not necessarily complete the signing by that day.I just hope the report of ETH setting a deadline for this transfer was correct..

The past nine years pretty much show it.So now you know what the priority for the club is?
Shut up. Calm down. Your post is being a hysterical idiot. This window is going to end up exactly like DM first window.
The club are simply awful at conducting transfers and nothing seems to change, no matter what changes happen.
We are seriously going to start the new season with McFred in the midfield.
It’s an embarrassment!
This club is supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in the world, and we need to start acting like it!
I think 60 mil rising to 70 is a good deal for both involved… what did they buy him for, was it 75/80? Not a massive loss really considering there desperate for money… but apparently they want to replace him with either gundogan or Bernardo, that makes no sense to me, selling someone because you need money but then spending it on other players.

Unrelated to this deal but just adds context as to the massive financial shitter that lot are in and why they'll likely end up offloading one of their best (non-homegrown) assets...
All those deferred payments are coming back to haunt them...
The previous club president seruously belongs in jail for the type of mismanagement that happened under him .
The obscene money Messi was making was one thing but they absolutely killed themselves with the vast majority of the contracts and transfer fees that were handed out over the years.

Swiss ramble explained it on twitter. They have a lot of short term debt, and a lot of football finances is based on a 3 year time span, so you can do some creative accounting to keep things OK essentially. But also part of the issue, with De Jong, they can't register new players or sign new players. They want to sign new players, so de Jong is a big hitter for both wages and fee who isn't necessarily vital for their long term future, so might as well move on. They are also betting that long term they'll be fine, they just have to get through this tumultuous period, but they still have to compete for trophies since they're Barca and the president gets elected, so there you go. End up doing a lot of buying and selling just to push away the problem to a time where you hope you are more stable and it's no longer an issue.Yeah I've been wondering about this too. How bad of a mess can they really be in if they'll just turn around and spend 60M+ on Bernardo?
We should have special little muppet day care on here for all the little cry babies.

Hasn't Barcelona been lining up various other deals to make up for the CVC deal? Gerard Romero has highlighted them recently, and it seems like they'll give Barcelona some relief this summer. On Frenkie, this'll basically mean Xavi will be the main driver behind the Frenkie sale.Because potential sale is more than just financial reasoning.
Xavi doesn't rate the player thus using the financial angle as an excuse to sell him and bring in a player Xavi likes whilst not riling up the fanbase which FDJ has at the club. He's been critical of Frenkie but used him totally wrong, it is what it is. If we do sell, watch Barca go in for Lewa and Raphinha. Player sales won't make a dent in the debt problems, that will be dealt with by some type of CVC deal.. sadly for us it is inevitable. Most cules you will find think Xavi is out of his mind sanctioning this sale by the way.
This deal is more about getting rid of a high wage player who has had little impact and isn't totally rated by the manager as opposed to Barca being totally desperate to solve finances, at least in my opinion.
Frenkie will end up joining United if the price is right. He's a top professional so you won't have a sulky player despite his desire to stay with Barca. In the end, I think a move is benefit for all 3 parties.
I expect us to close out the deal but I'm somewhat interested to see who United's alternatives are if the deal goes south.
Neves is the obvious named mentioned but I half expect a somewhat left-filed option too.
Sangaré is merely a wish by the United fans at this point. There haven't been any serious links to him. In terms of alternatives, Ruben Neves is the only one, but that won't go far given that Wolves want a ton of money for him.Ibrahim Sangaré has been mentioned but I don’t know if that’s an alternative to de Jong or to play alongside him.
Judge is still doing the negotiations unfortunatelywe are really slow in our dealing as usual. change of senior staffs but still so slow to get things done. if you are to bring in 5 players that would mean we have some budgets that are not linked to sales so why cant we close some of the easy deals while waiting on de Jong. this team is a pain
It moght be the start but damn it, get it done early for onceIf we get FdJ, can't help but feel it's the start of something positve - think it will help tip the balance of any others on the fence about joining ETH's project.
Would immensly improve our midfield, not a high bar granted, but exciting times ahead.
Only 8 more weeks to go then.Day 3 of the transfer window and some muppets are already losing their shit.
Calm down folks. We're already at the haggling phase.
We could get him tomorrow if we offer silly money,I'm hoping we've stopped being that daftwe are really slow in our dealing as usual. change of senior staffs but still so slow to get things done. if you are to bring in 5 players that would mean we have some budgets that are not linked to sales so why cant we close some of the easy deals while waiting on de Jong. this team is a pain
Things can change quickly,Liverpool will struggle to replace Klopp and even teams as good as those two will have off seasons I followed us through the 70s and 80s,I bet we won't wait that long again, having said that it's dependent on the charlatans that run the club perhaps getting a clue how to run a football clubIt seems like even if we do sign him aswell as 3 others we’ll still be miles behind city and Liverpool they’ve both just improved there strikers even after being the highest scorers in the league… let alone they have 2 of the best managers in the world. Seems like we’re going to be fighting a losing battle. I have every confidence that ten Hag can bridge the gap a little bit but I don’t think it will be enough.. aslong as those 2 managers are in this league and spending like they are then I’m not sure wether we’ll see another league title.

Plenty of other business to do, and he's not particularly fussed about joining us in the first place, so we should simply move on and stop hand wringing over the prospect of him not coming.
