And it doesn't seem like they'll be able to register all their new players for the season opener.

"Now kids, your mum and I love you all equally but little Timmy and Marlon Brando Jr need to feck off while we take Sally to Disneyland Paris. Leftover beans are in the fridge. Don't call unless both the house and yourselves are literally on fire."

Lord, the press over there is highly useless. I checked in on searches and got a “breaking” story that Koulibaliy may feature for us against Tottenham …. Genius sleuthing.

Romero's getting incredibly hyped up about Alemany, Yuste, and Laporta meeting with someone in a restaurant.

They’re probably going to announce Bernardo. When this stuff happens, it’s normally for levers or arrivals

my lack of Spanish is translating this to something about Frenkie de Jong, something about Alemany, and a restaurant. Laporta must have read Michael Scott's article in Small Businessman about Chili's being the new golf course.

BREAKING NEWS: Laporta may or may not have had a wee in the office toilets today.

Journalism.

Within the briefcase are 3 envelopes.. so can someone please give Brendan a call to advise us as to what the likely contents are of said envelopes?

THIS IS WHAT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR

To Man Utd...Please and thank you god bless

One might say

The only thing that is not happening is things not happening

:smirk:

What I'm not going to miss once this saga is over the same info posted over and over again just from different aggregators

The club and people surrounding it are all clowns. Shame we've been clowned on even harder because he's off to Chelsea imo.

"economic lever". What an embarrassing club, bragging about levers to the world. Scouse levels of narcissism.

Next time I need to provide an update on a project I'm working on at work It'll be one slide that says "Things are happening"

I haven't been in here much. Just to catch myself up to speed, am I right in thinking this is the priority of outcomes for the relevant parties:

Barcelona:
1. Best case scenario they keep FDJ and he agrees to reduced wages (and give up the deferred wages).
2. They sell FDJ. To United or, apparently, Chelsea.
3. FDJ does not agree to a reduction in wages or to give up his claim to deferred wages. They are stuck in a bind as to who they can register of the new players.

United:
1. FDJ agrees to join us.
2./3. FDJ stays at Barca, either under his current contract or a reduced one. I guess the latter is the worst of the two, as it would be unpleasant to see Barca get away with this.
4. FDJ goes to Chelsea.

FDJ:
1. Stay at Barca under his existing contract.
No idea how to place reduced $ at Barca vs coming to United. That's up to him. He doesn't have to entertain either of these options.

"economic lever". What an embarrassing club, bragging about levers to the world. Scouse levels of narcissism.
It’s like a landlord going around telling his mates “Guess what pal, I’ve just remortgaged another house. Got shed loads of money now. Might remortgage another one next week if I’m desperate.”

Awwwww.... well, Frenkie will become enemy number one now
Correct.

This is a significant development. Barca want him gone. All pretenses of the 50% paycut are just that, a pretense. They want him GONE!

Now it is a question of how they turn Barca media and fans on him. Because the 5th lever will be preventing Barca from registering other players.

How many levers have been pulled/sold/pushed/pulled so far?

Oh yeah, Yuste, Alemany, and Laporta definitely met up with Ali Dursun in that restaurant. This is definitely about Frenkie de Jong.
