I didn’t say our business has been great, but we’ve seemingly gone for the targets our manager wants, once again.I wouldn’t be embarrassed as a fan or as a club if he stayed on his current deal, we knew from the start that was his preference. Him going to Chelsea… if I was Murtough that would cause me to completely rethink how much transfer responsibility I would allow the manager to have. Would be an absolutely epic miscalculation.
But now as I understand it, unlike the way United approached this, we said we would only launch a bid of the player himself have a green light that he was both willing to leave Barca and willing to come to Chelsea.
As long as we hadn’t submitted a bid that was important info. But if all of a sudden we have submitted a bid that would be interesting.

We’ll have to agree to disagree, because if a fee is agreed and player gives indications he’s open to the move (If he hasn’t then then that’s a different conversation, but couldn’t fathom we’d still be in if he he wasn’t interested), then why would you walk away to sign inferior players?

So we open the Instagram and scroll her profile to see if she might post something. We read the comments and we saw something that make our heart felt something weird. We saw this comment from a guys asking here " Hey if you still don't have a date for the prom, is there any chance you wanna go with me? wink emoji" Lo and behold you see that she "heart" that comment. What's that means? She wanna go to the prom with that guy? But we already asked her right your inner voice says. You feel sick to the stomach. You know that guy. He's the guy that people said has a slightly better hair than you with a new car he just bought with his grandparents trust fund.
So you put down the phone and go shower.

Yeah this is my thinking. He knows the boy and must have been told that hanging in there is worth it. As frustrating as this is for our fans, it's Ten Hag's career and this is his big moment. Success or failure at United will determine whether he is one of the top managers or just a good one. This signing is more important to him than any of us. I admire his suggestion that we can simply develop from within, and as excited as I am about Zidane Iqbal, I don't believe it.
The Chelsea links are obviously the last thing we want, but I've not read anything that seems especially concrete and wasn't previously said about him joining us. It makes sense for FDJ and Barca to have two options on the table, that's how these things work, but I've no idea either way and seemingly does nobody else.
I'm hoping Ten Hag's faith is rewarded.

We knew a massive overhaul of the squad was required this summer, not just getting the targets the manager wanted. Not doing so is not backing the manager properly and no one will convince me otherwise.
It would be low if FDJ and his agent have lead Man Utd and ETH along all summer, let alternative targets go elsewhere, to then just go to Chelsea who seemingly only came in last minute on a whim
I’d be amazed if Chelsea went and spent this kind of money considering their need for a striker - the only rationale is that the new guy in charge is as Gary Nev says, thinks he is playing real life FM - they would need to be recycling quite a few players out in a short space of time.
However the guy is unknown and I’m sure his pride has been dented over Barca nabbing a couple of players from them so maybe looking for a statement?
They may have UCL but I’m not sure how cohesive the current Chelsea project is - I’d like to think that Frenkie will want to go where he knows he will play to his strengths and be really wanted rather than a shiny new toy.
I wouldn’t be surprised that as Chelsea are sniffing around Aubemeyang (who I think would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea) that that is where the FDJ rumours are coming from.

Thats exactly how i'm thinking of this. If it was coming from Chelsea, we'd have the bigger outlets picking up on it, such as BBC and the sorts. We've not had a peep out of them, and all the Chelsea journos have just mentioned this as a one liner/small paragraph.

It’s odd. I keep hearing the club is showing no ambition either when chasing down De Jong is the very definition of being ambitious. Maybe overly so in fact given we don’t have CL football.
