I haven't been following the various different contradictions from Sport. But I do remember Luis Miguelsanz being the first to report about a fixed €80m (Inc bonuses) fee being agreed between both clubs. And the latest article being discussed from the outlet is also from him. And having read the article, he's reporting what the likes of Ducker, Whitwell and Stone have been saying. And he goes on to say that ten Hag is in contact with the player and has told the club to wait because he knows a transfer is viable.This really isn't any new information at all, but I think it's just shocking that Sport have pulled a complete 180 and said that de Jong hasn't rejected United and that he just doesn't want to negotiate until he knows what's happening.
This is coming from the same outlet that said de Jong flat out refused to come to United and that he wouldn't even consider us, and that he wanted Chelsea or Bayern. For them to print this, something has changed and seeing as Sport seem to get their info from Barca, I wonder what has actually happened

FYI, with my limited understanding of contract law and working rights and what I found about Article 41, it is very unlikely, that it is usable to get rid of one specific employee. As I assumed, it is a measure to allow companies in financial problems to modify existing work contracts. I haven't found anything, that suggested, it could be used to get rid of somebody. And, again, it would be pretty easy to defend against from FDJs perspective seeing that the financial emergency can't be that existential, if there is the possibility to bring in players for substantial amounts.@JPRouve too.

They didn't just payed FDJ less money than it was initially agreed, they altered the contract (or made a new one) that lowered FDJs wages for a certain time while increases it for the time later.Is there no reason we can't just pay the owed wages and then take Barca to court for owed monies?

The thing is though, if this would just be a case of -company agrees wages with employee onesidedly decides not to pay it- then there is absolutely no reason for FDJ to stay at Barcelona. Because he could only sue them from whereever he is. Think, there is also a case of loyality bonus', maybe the 7 million offer is about this.Not sure about this. I feel Frenkie will offer us something that we've not had since Carrick and Scholes. He'll be a game changer.
A back line of Garnacho, Maguire, Varane, Malacia, with Martinez and FDJ mixed in means United can play long to wingers pulling wide in Sancho and Rashford, and also play out from the back.
I expect top 3 if FDJ joins, and I expect a squad that challenges to the Quarter/Semis of the CL the following season.
