Ok im going to come off twitter for a while, ended up reading some tweets from some random Chelsea itk that is saying FDJ to Chelsea is almost done.

Hahaha he’s just nervously thinking to himself these muppets are going to be at my house setting off flares come September.
"I can't wait until I get back in the office and watch this video. Two Girls One Cup. Must be a comedy or something!"

Damn bud. Sorry to hear that. If you want to take your mind off it, Google 2w+cup

Dammit

This really isn't any new information at all, but I think it's just shocking that Sport have pulled a complete 180 and said that de Jong hasn't rejected United and that he just doesn't want to negotiate until he knows what's happening.

This is coming from the same outlet that said de Jong flat out refused to come to United and that he wouldn't even consider us, and that he wanted Chelsea or Bayern. For them to print this, something has changed and seeing as Sport seem to get their info from Barca, I wonder what has actually happened
I haven't been following the various different contradictions from Sport. But I do remember Luis Miguelsanz being the first to report about a fixed €80m (Inc bonuses) fee being agreed between both clubs. And the latest article being discussed from the outlet is also from him. And having read the article, he's reporting what the likes of Ducker, Whitwell and Stone have been saying. And he goes on to say that ten Hag is in contact with the player and has told the club to wait because he knows a transfer is viable.

Article below.

Is there no reason we can't just pay the owed wages and then take Barca to court for owed monies?

@JPRouve too.
Gentlemen. I’m ill in bed and my head is banging. With respect, I literally couldn’t care less. I just posted a link to a rubbish article from the mirror I think. It was interesting. I thought
I’d share. I’m not a Spanish lawyer for goodness sake. Maybe you would like to discuss it between yourselves.
Sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon. FYI, with my limited understanding of contract law and working rights and what I found about Article 41, it is very unlikely, that it is usable to get rid of one specific employee. As I assumed, it is a measure to allow companies in financial problems to modify existing work contracts. I haven't found anything, that suggested, it could be used to get rid of somebody. And, again, it would be pretty easy to defend against from FDJs perspective seeing that the financial emergency can't be that existential, if there is the possibility to bring in players for substantial amounts.

Apparently, the wages aren't actually owed legally or contractually but more morally. They didn't just payed FDJ less money than it was initially agreed, they altered the contract (or made a new one) that lowered FDJs wages for a certain time while increases it for the time later.

"Article 41 of the Workers’ Statute establishes the different cases, implemented by the employer, that modify work conditions, as well as their requirements and procedures."

"It is important to note that the Worker’ Statute enables the employer to modify given aspects of work conditions on the individual level as well as on the collective level, as long as these modifications are justified by economic, technical, organizational or production reasons. The law recognizes the reasons linked to competition, productivity, or technical or labour organization."

So, the reason for modification to work conditions being the directors are a bunch of pissheads who wouldn't know financial probity from their bumholes is not covered by the legislation.

Not sure about this. Why would they offer him €7m if they didn't owe anything, now? I just find it a very odd thing to do. Agreeing to delay the payment could make sense, but deferring the liability just seems mental.

We won't know the truth of it, yet - will need to wait for inevitable De Jong biography in ten years time.

I sincerely apologise and hope you the best of health mate.

I took out my frustration unnecessarily on you.

To be honest, I genuinely believe the muppets here post mostly in jest with the absolute knowledge that we all know feck all what is going on. It’s all a guessing game. But whoever ends up right in the end will take the forum bragging rights.
Genuinely no reason to apologise- I just have to keep checking because I’m telling myself that surely this saga has to end one way or the other soon. But I guess United are persisting for a reason. I’m interested for the next proper reliable update

Why? Cause if he stays they have to pay him 30m over the next 15 months is why?

Happens all the time in football, if a top club sells a player with years to run on his deal to a lower club who can’t afford those wages, the club and player agree a settlement/severance package in order to terminate the current contract.

Yeah it isn't straightforward, no question about that. The thing is though, if this would just be a case of -company agrees wages with employee onesidedly decides not to pay it- then there is absolutely no reason for FDJ to stay at Barcelona. Because he could only sue them from whereever he is. Think, there is also a case of loyality bonus', maybe the 7 million offer is about this.

Barca fans are hilarious. Getting all excited that they can register all their shiny new players, and all the club had to do was sell off another chunk of itself. What a deal!

They’re literally paying for players with pounds of flesh.

I feel Frenkie will offer us something that we've not had since Carrick and Scholes. He'll be a game changer.

A back line of Garnacho, Maguire, Varane, Malacia, with Martinez and FDJ mixed in means United can play long to wingers pulling wide in Sancho and Rashford, and also play out from the back.

I expect top 3 if FDJ joins, and I expect a squad that challenges to the Quarter/Semis of the CL the following season.

(with additions of the missing positions)

As I understand it they cannot simply change it for one person, if it’s salary for example it must be done consistently for the whole group with everyone in agreement
