Frenkie De Jong | Performances

Since when do I hate Barcelona players?
Not necessarily Barcelona, but you could argue that you are rather invested in a particular endless discussion between one of Barcelona's players and one from Portugal. Either way, that's not an argument on itself so never mind that, since this is a different topic.

Thing is Frenkie de Jong is not a dislikable cheeting cnut. I have no idea where you get that from. Yes he complains to a ref in less than good faith sometimes. litterally everyone does that. Ronaldo nearly has a crying fit everytime he touches the grass after being dispossesed. And players around the world appeal for corners or throw ins when they're so blatantly wrong it's comical. I have no idea, why you dislike De Jong so much, but calling him a 14 year old albino does seem to suggest some form of animosity. Is it jealousy that no one in the Portuguese squad is rated that highly or something? Honestly just interested in where it comes from, because if you want to call Dutch players cnuts, we've had plenty in the past deserving of the title:

Robben
Van Persie
Van Bommel
Nigel de Jong
Joël Veltman
Kluivert
Ruud (sometimes)

But fecking Frenkie de Jong? It's like calling Ghandi a mean drunk.

He dives and he’s on top of the ref all game long like no other player, despite knowing for sure he has no right to complain most of the time he does. It does not compare normally to other players at all. Even Pepe or Suarez don’t do it as shamelessly as he does. I’ll find a vid when I’m on PC. It’s one thing to ask for a throw in even when you know the ball came off you, it’s another to then act as if the ref killed your entire family when he makes the right call.

Calling him William Carvalho’s 14 year old albino son was me joking, not hating on him

Might be weird on my part but if a player is a cheater but gets the right recognition for it then I tend to not really mind. Players like Frenkie, Joao Felix or even Mbappe who get treated like saints despite regularly being cheaters inside the pitch are much more frustrating to me than a Diego Costa or Luis Suarez.

Felix is way worse. Keeping in mind probably watched De Jong 5 or 6 matches at best.

Worse than Pepe and Suarez  epsecially Pepe is one of the most loathsome pieces of work. An extremely dirty player and monumental drama queen diver at the same time.

Wait, is it about that challenge Ronaldo made on him in the second half?

I was saying it here before yesterday's game... It's just the truth damnit, finding 1000 different indirect ways as to why I'm biased against Frenkie De Jong. Jesus

Really? Worse than Pepe? I can post some vids... But do i have To? Spoiler alert it involves him kicking a downed player in the back.

The state of this thread is so good that I will dedicate a topic with the name divers, cheaters and something else to the most hateful players from past and present only from Portugal.

I mean only Paulo Futre in the 80’s to mid 90’s was something else. We’re wasting time here.

I mean with De Jong.

How am I defending an Ajacied here?! curse me and my bias.

You're like someone born in the body of the wrong gender, but it this case you're a so called Feyenoord fan who is really a deeply closeted Ajax fan. :D

Much more frustrating than a spitter and a biter (who goes as far using racist insults vs opponents)? Glad we don't share the same values

What? I said he was worse than Pepe and Suarez when it comes to complaining to referees even though there's absolutely no doubt in his mind the ref made the correct decision. I didn't say he was a bigger cnut than them or more aggressive.

De Jong complains every single decision ever made and acts as if the ref comitted murder as soon as he makes the obvious call. It's infuriating.

'Are you not entertained'

'The ressurection'

'The Alan Shearer'

All of them hilarious in hindsight, they're not that bad by themselves. It's a game full of it from start to finish that's annoying.

And that's the video evidence of why he's worse than Pepe and Suarez.

I just, I can't  Okay mate, you're right.

I would also do this when someone would murder someone in front of me

For the guy who idolizes Ronaldo to the point where it's just weird, it's surprising that he hates some player for complaining to the ref or diving.

...

Van de Beek wasn't a toddler but was good enough to have been promoted into the first team at a young age and was giving Schone a run for his money in the midfield under Bosz. Why change his role then? ...

Ffs Bosz even employed Jairo Riedewald as a 6 back then, calling him “my man”. It was onlyafter switching his entire around, everything started working.

Granted, Van de Beek is versatile and can play all options on midfield, but De Jong is special. I recall the Donny-Appie-Frenkie midfield tearing opponents a new one, and out of them three, Donny definitely was the lesser talent. Frenkie was outshone by Nouri, btw...

So weird to like a player in my team that dives while not liking a player playing for the opposition that dives.

Oh wait, turns out it’s just the same as every single normal football fan on the planet.

Jesus

Weird to idolize Ronaldo too.... oh wow. Ouch. I'm sorry it pains you.

Right, because that's what I said... Just like I apparently said he was more aggressive than Pepe too in my previous comment.

Running a 30 meters sprint to the ref with his hand in the air for a ball that didn't even come near anyone's hand is more than I've ever seen Pepe do in similar circumstances tbf. Ruben Dias telling him to feck off at his face settled that one though. It was 3 examples of blatant cheating.

No i mean more whiny than Pepe. He's not, he's really not. Not even on the same planet. Pepe is both a diver, actor and extremely aggressive dirt bag. He might be top 3 of the most garbage football players of all time in that regard. De Jong is a bit whiny sometimes. Get a grip.

Pepe's a much worse cheater. I didn't say otherwise.

Why would it "pains me"? I just find it hilarious. Also "my team"? How many teams do you support. He played for ManUtd, Madrid, Juve.

The way he can keep possession in tight spaces and move the ball forward is incredible. Barca got him at a steal for €75 million he will be their main man in midfield for the next 10+ years

Portugal?

Portugal played the Netherlands yesterday. Hence De Jong played for the opposition.

He is a lovely player. Look forward to seeing how he handles La Liga.

But still you support Ronaldo when he doesn't play for the team you support?

Do you not support United players when they play for their national teams? You find that weird? I saw a lot of United fans here last year being very happy Pogba won the World Cup...

I prefer Juve wins over other teams because he's there of course. I want him to do well.

I also root for Wolverhampton to win the Premier League and I loved that Monaco team with Bernardo Silva and Leonardo Jardim. I have family in Stuttgart so I like them too. Always picked Madrid over Barcelona since the whole Figo thing and I quite like Dortmund simply because for me they're a likeable club.

Is that alright?

Everyone does that. Football players a whingy cnuts, but it hardly defines him. @Peyroteo paints him as the new Mark van Bommel. Now MVB, that was a massive fecking cnut.
I think the Germans are the worse, I'm surprised they don't get yellow cards when I watch 2 German teams playing and complaining to the refs all the time. But like SCP said that Renato Sanches... I mean Felix complains too much.

I swear @KirkDuyt if you don't swear eternal bloody vengeance over this then that means he is right and the mods should change the supports:feyenoord tag to a "bleeding liar who lies" one

At least he acknowledges that supporting Ajax is something a person should be ashamed of.

Also, 6-2.

The biggest con job of recent times should get his own thread. 80 million Euros + reported 16 million Euros wages for this (keep in mind this is a game his team dominated 6-0 as well)?

What is his standout ability except passing to the nearest man back and sideways?

Atrocious offside awareness and his touch lets him down @ 1:23

Getting his teammate into trouble @ 2:21

Passing to nobody @ 4:46

Giving ball away @ 4:51

etc.

And he generally seems to not know what to do before he gets the ball because he always dwells on the ball for seconds before doing something with it.

His dribbling is also average, usually lays it too far forward.

Will get terribly exposed at a higher level.

Discuss.

This OP was fecking bonkers

Yes he is, and he's carried on with it now that he's a trainer. The condescending tone he takes with reporters is insane.

Though he's also had a few funny quips.
And he was so random about it. I'll never forget when he got sent off against Bochum after 27 minutes. That was so absutely unnecessary, it was fascinating.

Van Bommel in his press conferences is really cringy. The worst dad jokes ever. Like "If you want a guarantee, buy a washing machine."
