24 Brazilian midfielder playing for Shakhtar Donetsk. Duncan saying we want him in January transfer window in his latest podcast.

Is this the bloke they call Fred? If so, apparently Pep is also keen on this guy as a long term replacement for Fernandinho.

Apart from that, I know nothing about him :nervous:

I think he's more of an attacking midfielder than a defensive one. I've always liked the guy just because of his name.

Yes. Not the first time we have been linked to him under Mou.

No he is known as Rod, not Fred. At least to his mates anyway.

Box to box from the little I have seen. Lots of dribbling, lots of tackling and an eye for goal - think Naby Keita.

These are the types of players we should be signing. Perfect profile.

Yeah. Exactly why I don't see how he replaces Fernandinho for City.

Him signing a new deal enables Shakhtar to get a decent fee for him. Doesn't mean it's the end for a potential transfer.

Are the media linking us to every City target so they can run with the whole “City are superior to United” stories when we inevitably don’t get them?

We’re probably not even in for Sanchez.

Woodward and co have taken notice of Jose "We can't compete with City" and big Ed means business!

If Fred has signed a new contract, then it will probably put a swift end to this. The bigger line in that article in my opinion is that we don't have any interest in signing Julian Weigl anymore, big mistake if true :(.

Know nothing about him. Anyone watched him previously ?

Will try to search the Youtube.

Can we please ban the Tweets of anyone who starts one with the word 'Boom' please?

Maybe 5 years ago, sure. Signing a contract doesn't mean much these days.

Even more so these days, players who want to move for a reasonable fee have to run down their contracts, that is of course unless they have their agents put release clauses in the papers they sign!

Clubs are going to demand 40m minimum for every player on their books, the only way out is to leave on a bosman or put clauses in etc.

Fred said he will consider he's too good for his shirt and walk away. Right?

Victor Lindelöf signed a new contract 6 months before we signed him. The motive varies.
