Castles: Manchester United to battle with Manchester City for Shakhtar star Fred

Apparently he signed a new contract with Shakhtar today or yesterday.

Yeah looks like he signed a deal till 2023, maybe it was done so that his club could get a good fee for him. In his interview after the contract signing, he said he hasnt heard of city interest and if they call his agent, he will think about it. So that contract might not mean anything else than getting a bigger sum for shakhtar.

No need to fred, we have other targets.

Fred is now also linked to us by Paul Hirst of Times and PA.

He told the press he was signing for Utd after talking to Woodward and the glazers as they had told him we would win the quadruple next season. The headline: Freddie and the dreamers. Crap pun. Sorry if you were born after the 60s you probably wont get it.

I don't accept your apology.

Paul Hirst is a good source and he's reporting that Mourinho will make a move for Fred. Don't really know much about him but looks like he could be our CM signing this month.

I know nothing about Fred, but I would love to see another CM come in and if JM rates him that's good enough for me.

I've never seen him play either but it seems City want him too..

Apparently Jose asked him which side he prefers to play on, "right" said Fred

I can almost see it happening.

Commentator: "And in a bizarre twist, Fred has gone to ground, taken off his jersey and is signalling to the medical team"

Physio on the pitch: "What's wrong? Where are you injured?"

Fred: "I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, so sexy, it hurts." *struts off the pitch*

Thank Christ for that. I thought it was that shit Brazilian striker from about 15 years ago that this thread was about.

I thought he signed a new contract, or was that more twitter nonsense?

He was a starter for brazil at the last world cup.

Pep has informed shaktar that the pep club will pay 45 million for Fred. He signed a contract yesterday to keep him at shakhtar till 2023.

We should offer £50M and see if we can get him. Instead of spending money on Alexis Sanchez we should be putting that money towards getting this lad imho.

The Pogba thread on the Caf for his transfer. It was a Mega thread not sure how to find it.
So if we find it, Castles will be the very first to link us to Pogba and we will not find any links anywhere before him?

Also how many has he gotten wrong?

This one?

First post does reference Castles as the source unfortunately it also mentions that we had been linked to a Pogba return a few months before. Ooops. Also the quoted part is really about Juventus being willing to sell and that PSG and United being the most likely interested parties. A bit weak as far as breaking the story goes.

Hey man, someone asked why people trust Castles and I trust him because back then he reported the Pogba story when many else didn't think it was on as castles doesn't know shite.

For this reason in my eyes Castles is a reliable source. Obviously no journo gets stuff 100 percent right, but Castles has been more reliable for me than someone like Mitten.

Now if you think he's a nobody and knows nothing, feel free. Why should I care if someone believes or doesn't believe Castles. I am just saying I find him reliable because usually his words are true
