I don't understand him. He is Djemba Djemba. Surely he has more ability than he's shown at United.
He has, but it was said before about level of coaching the players who clearly are in the right age to improve, but they're not.

Maybe his worst game at United. Truly horrendous.
I seriously think he has a real issue with judging space and judging how much power is needed for a simple pass.

He should become the first footballer to wear bifocals... And if he's still shit, at least he'll look like a gangster whilst doing it

Very fortunate not to concede a penalty for a blatant foul at a corner. Gave the ball away continually. Almost comically bad at times.

Genuinely think City took interest in him so we'd get baited into signing this absolute pile of wank.

For fifty fecking million.

Absolutely garbage. I've honestly lost patience with Fred. Still misplacing passes after 70 minutes yet young Mctominay comes on and has no issue weighting a pass and creating a chance. Embarrassing for him.

Some of his passing in the post game show. What has happened to him? He couldn't have been this bad at Donetsk.

Another huge waste of money under Jose who if you watch now pretends like he was hardly given any money by the club.

Somebody should make a compilation of this shit today really. His passing was easily noticeable but his movement when he got ran past numerous times and failed with his one-man-pressing (he's as fecking dumb as Rashford or Lingard in that regard) leaving massive gaps in midfield is something that honestly needs highlighting.

He honestly doesn't have a fecking brain does he.

1/10 against a team like AZ Alkmaar, I'm sure Lingard is proud. So wasteful on possession, how many misplaced passes today? Gave it away every time he was pressed. Bad timing marking and tackling, created nothing, terrible. If he continues like that we should replace him on the next 2 windows, we need a revolution on that midfield. I wonder who the hell scouted him. It's like we heard about the City interest, watched some goals on YouTube (By the way, I remember seeing a clip of him vs Man City on the UCL where he was bad, IN A YOUTUBE COMPILATION) and then signed him, unbelievable.

86,5% passing success rste is not that bad stat for someone who is not familiar with Astroturf as Ukraine had very warm weather and excellent grass pitches

I'm struggling to remember seeing a worse performance from a United midfielder. He barely managed to connect with simple 5-10 yard sideways passes and gave the ball away every single solitary fecking time he tried absolutely ANYTHING more expansive than that. I started watching the game in the 20th minute and gave up counting well into double figures at some point around the 70th as to the number of times he gave the ball away.

Phil Jones could have been scooting about the middle of the park in his favourite wheelchair and been of more use.

He was surely good for Shakhtar?

Just yet another player to fall under the curse of playing for Man Utd.
There have been a few reports about personnel at Shakhtar being confused that we were in for him. I can't imagine he was any better there. It's not like his passing could suddenly get this bad overnight.

I don't get it, Jose was the one who supposedly wanted him, yet like Ole clearly didn't rate him, and possibly never wanted him at all, you now have to wonder if the City links lured Woodward in on this one.

I followed him closely tonight out of boredom, and I actually think he might be - hands down - the worst midfielder I've ever seen for Man United. Djemba-Djemba at least had some physical prowess about him and got stuck in, plus he only cost £3.5m (in today's market, probably about £15-20m I'd imagine). Same goes for Kleberson.

Fred cost upwards of £50m and looks like he wouldn't make the starting 11 for most Championship teams. He truly is fecking awful. We need to cut our losses in the summer and get rid of him while he might have some kind of value. I also wish we could grill whomever decided this guy was worth signing and ask them what they saw in Fred that made them think he was the one to buy? Just one thing?

Thank you Fred.
It's hard to see how he can be disimproving from such a low starting point but he's managing it. Shocking stuff.

Terrible today, but going to let him off given the pitch that was being played on.
His bedding in period is running out though, he has up until Xmas to show some actual worth of that 50m before the axe is dropped on him...

Should report Shakhtar to trading standards for giving us this absolute fraud

One of the worst midfield performances I've seen in recent years. Absolutely shocking. Should be moved on ASAP.
