Frank Lampard | Coventry City?

Wasn't really like that. We weren't exactly keen on either but we had limited choices. Most wanted us to try and get someone like Potter or a foreign manager like Favre initially. When we were limited to the two it became clear Lampard would be the favourite amongst fans because Pereira decided to go on SSN and give an interview before he had even been appointed which quite obviously isn't going to adhere you to the supporters.

Unfortunately it is a situation where it is difficult to know what or who is the right answer. People would look to someone like Dyche because they believe he is a relegation expert but he was relegated with Burnley before and was heading that way with them before he was sacked so I don't think he's the specialist everyone sees him as. I think we should do what we should have done when Benitez was sacked and try our hardest to tempt someone like Ange at Celtic to come (which we should have done with Potter), as he is a manager who is engaging with modern footbal and taps into the markets that we should be targeting - Asia, where you can pick up excellent talent for a fraction of the price that we have been paying in the past couple of years. I know there is a very slim chance, even impossible chance, of that happening but I do hope the appointment is someone with experience but also who can give us a long term future in the best case scenario. I know people mention Rooney but his lack of experience is the only thing I would question.
Kjetil Knutsen was the manager we would have gone for if De Zerbi had fallen through. At the time he was my favourite choice but obviously the club make better decisions than me! But he’s a very good up and coming manager and will certainly end up in the PL at some point.

Dyche and Rooney would be mistakes imo.

Aye, he was someone I wanted us to consider when we sacked Benitez too. Basically I think we need to get someone who understands modern football well. There are too many progressive coaches in the PL these days that can outwit someone like Dyche who plays brexit ball and Rooney who lacks the experience.

We're witnessing something, I think, unprecedented in the history of english football. A manager being kept employed because the owner wants to spite the fans who wanted him in the first place. Just incredible. Lampard is literally the worse manager in the history of everton yet he won't be sacked.

And as for the fat fraud himself, remember when people had a bit of dignity about them? Well, he obviously has none, because if he did, he would have resigned by now.

Lampard is worse than Ole, and he'll never coach in the PL again after this job. He's shocking. I'd rather have a blind monkey in charge then this useless clown. Makes Gerrard look like Pep. Prick.

Yeah but that’s enough sitting on the fence mate, what do you really think of Lampard?

Well quite frankly, that’s just your anti-Frank agenda coming through there and how dare you want to replace him with an experienced manager like Pochettino or some hipster flavour of the month manager like Postecoglu. He needs three years and £300m to spend before you even contemplate on judging him and if you can’t give him that, then you’re in the wrong sport!

If anybody in this world do their job as shit as him they would already be fired long time ago. Whats up with him ? Does he keep Moshiri nudes as blackmail ? Seriously though is this about the board saving severance payout ? They would lose even more money getting relegated and playing Championship football. The downward spiral is really quick and unpredictable. You either become Villa or Sunderland.

I think Dixie may be right, the owner is giving the fans what they wanted. Additionally, not sure Moshiri has that much/is willing to put much in. Wasn't he just essentially the face for Usmanov?

Why would Lampard resign?
He obviously believes on his ability, probably feels like he can turn this around so why would he step away from that?

I'd imagine, without evidence, that Everton board members are probably speaking to possible candidates to replace Lampard and want to have a possible replacement ready before they sack him, otherwise the club will be further in limbo and will probably waste two weeks/games before they get a replacement.
A loss to West Ham and he's gone, with Dyche in as temporary manager til the end of the season.

He's limited as a manager, but that team is trash. When Gray and Iwobi are your primary creative outlets, with a crocked DCL up front, you aren't going far

Surely gone in the morning. 2 points from their last 8 games is awful. Specially considering they face low table teams such as Leicester, Wolves, Bournemouth and now West Ham.

Everton squad is nothing impressive but Lampard is more part of the problem rather than the solution.

Maybe he should stop giving his team instructions in Latin.

Can you get sacked at half-time? Has that ever happened?

Agree. There’s a weird expectation that Everton should be doing well every season but they haven’t fielded a strong 11 in years. I don’t even rate DCL like many people seem to. He tries hard but is really limited as a player.

Good time for a sack with hopefully a new manager bounce against Arsenal and Liverpool in their 2 upcoming games.

Bet the players are glad this isn't a home game and they don't have to evade the drone army trying to get away from the game.

looks absolutely terrified, bet he didn't heard a single word

It's probably the loveliest bloke in the world speaking, but with that accent it just sounds worrying.
Plus not letting go of his hand.

Oh please let Arsenal feel what we did against Villa, that would be absolutely lovely

I feel sorry for Everton if he gets them relegated

However it will stop Liverpool starting on +6 points provided that Norwich don't get promoted

I don't think it's so obvious as that.

I don't think Ev can really afford to sack him with the stadium being built and belts being tightened.

He's obviously out of his depth and the atmosphere in the dressing room and in the ground is toxic at the minute but Moshiri won't have much for a new manager if he does sack him. Rock and hard place springs to mind.

Is a modern football specialists something that would work with the current players?

Exactly. It's been the least competitive derby in world football for about 20 years.
For ruck's sake, even we've beaten City a few times in our downtimes!

If ever you feel sorry for that club just picture how their fans act in our ground every season.

He will lose a lot more if we are relegated. I’d be surprised if it has anything to do with compensation.
