Don't call me Shirley
Its because he's a fecking Torie.
Our squad should be easily enough to stay in this league but they let us down every week. Parachute payments are chunky but so are our debts. The best players at the club are the ones that would leave aside from probably Gordon.

Do you think Lampard stays if you're relegated? It's kind of a gamble to stick with him if the aim to bounce back out of the second division in one attempt, but it also seems harsh to sack him just a few months into the job.
He's a poor manager, but he got it right against Liverpool. Anyone thinking they would had a chance playing otherwise is deluded.
I wish we had played against Liverpool like they did, sure time wasting diving cnuts but at least they showed some fight.
I'm not an Ole in'er or a United fan , I just think he's a bit of a prick who throws his players under the bus when the going gets tough(Or directs the blame elsewhere).
I don't think he's a good manager either and trades on his reputation as a player, but that's not his fault.
I feel sorry for him in a way. He's made mistakes but it would have been silly to not expect that from a manager who doesn't have the experience of his last two jobs. Realistically he should have been nowhere near a title hunting team or a 'big' team seriously threatened with relegation but he and those clubs have put themselves in that position. I think he's done some good things though. The way he has set us up in some games shows he has a semblance of tactical nous and he and his coaching staff have clearly worked on and improved some players such as Mykolenko. I think he's sensible enough to realise how to rile up players/fans in terms of morale too. If we are relegated though that's sadly all he will be remembered for. I stand by my thought that relegation is because of a bigger and wider problem than Lampard which is first and foremost the owner and secondly how disastrous Benitez was for the team and atmosphere at and around the club.
Yes it is
I'm not sure how much can the owners be blamed here. You can blame them for Everton not being a top 8 side anymore, you can blame them for signing stupidly and having botched too many managerial hirings. But to blame them for relegation is a bit too much - the side as unbalanced as it may be is surely not a bottom 3 side.
Around Benitez, I think your board fecked up, but no matter how you look at it, any decent manager would have gotten Everton out of relegation zone.
Ole is available@WeePat I think it would be harsh to fire him too. I guess it depends who would be available and interested in joining. I think he would probably do okay in the Championship and it would be better for his evolution as a manager.
Surely the side is better than Watford, Burnley, Norwich, Leeds, Palace on paper. Of course it's not the most balanced side, but you also have enough players with obvious quality as well.I don’t agree and I think you’re seriously underestimating how poor the squad is and the state/energy of the club is currently. It’s like United on steroids.
Yep, but the fans ‘knew better’ and wanted Lampard. Reaping what they’ve sowed I’m afraid.Should’ve appointed the Portuguese guy.

Anyways, you know Everton better, so will leave it there
They didn't have that many options , this was coming for a while, years of terrible recruitment and wasteful spending dies this to ya.This is what happens when you hire a complete amateur, absolutely dreadful decision by the Everton-board. Solskjær was incredibly bad at Cardiff and somehow ended up at United, Lampard did the opposite by starting at a big club and then taking over a small club after doing terribly at Chelsea. Lesson should have been learned, how Solskjær failed should have raised huge red flags for Everton relative to Lampard. Not saying every recent ex-pro will suck, but they are very similar in that they have never spoken about tactics or football like they know what they are talking about, they’re just blokes wanting to not leave football and live without it. It’s deserved, they’ve made their bed and have to sleep in it. Tons of managers could have easily saved them from this mess on a short-term contract.

Their next three games are crucial
Normally you'd say Chelsea will be tough but chelsea might have an eye on the fa cup and it's an Evertin game
Then leicesterand Watford. Gotta take 4 points from that. If they do it sets momentum up nicely
Is it that bad going down ? They'll probably come straight back up, give the fans something to cheer about, win the Championship.
Of course it is. They will lose loads of money and a team that spend over 300m, as big as Everton with the players they have be disastrous. Is it that bad going down ? They'll probably come straight back up, give the fans something to cheer about, win the Championship.
Most of their top players will leave if they are relegated & coming straight back up is not a gimme. Relegation is a disaster for them..Is it that bad going down ? They'll probably come straight back up, give the fans something to cheer about, win the Championship.
Why is Fletcher a mark of nepotism? Is he not qualified for the role hes in?Just like Fletcher, Lampard is another face of nepotism in English football
This.I don’t want Everton to go down. I don’t even like them, but still.
