Fourth Test, Melbourne

What happens if you buy tickets for all 5 days? Do you get a refund?

I feel sorry for those who planned to watch either the 4th or 5th day ... poor bastards.

Go home England.

Useless arseholes soaking up all the sun.

As captain, has freddie ever come out and said we were shit, that there was no fight and that hes sorry...cause Im not sure hes taking it seriously enough, or that the players dont actually care.

4 fecking nil!! I dont care what people say, England are not that bad in test cricket. Something is wrong, and drastic changes are needed.

1) Strauss should be captain, said this from day one. Best players dont make the best captains
2) Fletcher should be given until the world cup, then sack him
3) In tests we should be playing with four bowlers, ******gwood and pieterson can share the fifth bowlers spot
4) Maybe some more urgency and commitment in the camp, this test was lost before the first ball was bowled!

Even after all those changes the Aussies will still be better.

We are that damn good.

it is mystifying. second best team in the world. hadn't lost two tests in a row, let alone four, going into this. we're NOT this bad.

something is wrong. maybe they aren't taking it seriously. i mean, bowling plans left in a bar? didn't spend christmas day together? fishing trips?

it's an attitude problem and i think it's bled down from the captain. he's a wonderful player but he's always been a lazy fecker.

that's how i would sum this whole series up...lazy.

playing rather fast and loose with the word "we" aren't you?

and i don't buy that. mentally, yes, they were a hell of a lot tougher but we had the personnel to match them...and then some.

I could well understand losing to a great team Australia clearly are, but the way it was given to them without a fight or spirit just stinks.

I hope they are sufficiently embarrassed and give back their OBE's.

i think they reckoned, as holders of the ashes, all the had to do was waltz in on the back of a couple of glorified net sessions and it'd be in the bag.

laziness. pure and simple.

gutted, just gutted.

oh well...here's to the World Cup!

it's in the bag :D

England made so many mistakes in the run up to the Ashes including picking a player who was fairly obviously not up to it, picking the wrong Captain thus emasculating the most dangerous weapon in England's armory, picking a spinner who can't spin and an all rounder for a keeper who can't bat or keep instead of a keeper who may be able to keep and a spimmer who may be able to spin plus losing your bowling coach to the Aussie's because you are too cheap and you are on a losing wicket.

I agree with that, Flintoff is the kind of guy that everyone in the team would be comfortable with and it would be all smiles and laughter with him.

Now thats not wrong, its good to have such people, but what you want from your captain is someone you look up to, and the captain is someone who can turn the screw on people if necessary and show some more feckin urgency. Freddie stills thinks that these are the warm up games and the ashes will begin later!

I think that's exactly right. The attitude that says we go home after the ICC series rather than get some serious practice in under Australian conditions. The attitiude that results in selecting one of the old boys as your spinner because he can bat and field a bit instead of someone who can actually take test wickets. The attitidue that keeps faith with an opening batsman who's clearly off his rocker. The attitude that continues to deny making these mistakes. Losing this series was always likely but to capitulate the way we have is soul destroying. I was thinking this morning, at least it's nearly over. Then Botham mentioned the one day series. feck! Get them on a plane and bring them home, it's too embarrassing!

The most depressing thing about this test for me is that the Austrlians missed so many chances to take wickets - catches, run outs, stumpings, a litany of balls beating the bat, some shocking LBW decisions - the game could and should have been over even earlier.

For the first three tests, we were just bad (albeit with the odd person stepping up and giving a performance), this was the first time we simply gave up mentally. Shows over, we're gunna get whitewashed.

Aussie bowlers won this. Clark's consistency is unreal. Lee, mcgrath, warne.. amazing. Fantastic to watch Symonds get 150 - not the typical test player but hes a great player who is surely cemented in the side for a while

Flintoff shouldn't be captain for Engalnd - he is too 'cool' with everything. Best player maybe, but he has little influence on the game.

England were never good enough...the way they've capitulated without a hint of a fight should be proof enough.

No new talents on the domestic circuit?
