Four Four Two - 50 Best Managers In The World

Ancelotti 4th
There is a very good argument that he is in top 4 of all time. Heck, there might be an argument that he is the overall GOAT manager.

Current? Either top or second, anything below that is plain stupid.

Strong premier league bias on this list. However at #11 is wild, and I rate him quite highly.

Ancelotti has won all of Europes top 5 leagues and has 4 Champions Leagues to his name.
Both of those achievements completely unique.

Has anyone else even won 4 of European top leagues. And obviously, just 3 managers have won 3 UCLs.

Crazy thing, Ancelotti is gonna get his fifth UCL in a couple of weeks.

It's not that bad I think. Only 4 of the top 10 are PL managers currently. Would have expected more bias here to be honest.

A ludicrous list but then it's a shite magazine to read so probably on brand in fairness

My prediction, by this time in 2025, you rate Poch higher than Tuchel.
Chelsea showing so many signs of something coming together now.

Would you like to gamble on this? It's extremely amusing that you think I might throw away the opinions I've had for a decade or more on the basis of a few matches at the tail end of a season.

I wonder were Ten Hag was ranked this time last year, and the five years before that. Probably below Eddie Howe either way, as he doesn’t seem to be judged on results at all.

How do the evaluate them? Think Postecoglou being so high is pretty mad.
Premier League tax. An accomplished guy like Valverde who has won several trophies and has Athletic Club in 5th gets the 39th position. Postecoglou who manages one of the richest sides in the world has nothing, but says 'mate' a lot.

Feels like a list made by a high schooler who posts stuff about non-EPL leagues being farmers leagues on Twitter.

Ferreira, Howe, and De Zerbi over Tuchel is genuinely hilarious. Also for as much as I don't rate him Poch being behind the likes of Southgate, Moyes, ETH, Marco Silva, and Roger Schmidt is lunacy

Agreed on both. De Zerbi has interesting ideas but once everyone else adapts, will he be that good? Brightons shite form suggests not.

As for Southgate, international football is way below club football ito coaching

They're so underrating my guy Ancelotti.

Top 2 should've been Pep = Ancelotti > Klopp. And the former would have done way worse than Ancelotti under same circumstances.

Agree poch is better than marco silva, Ferreira, Southgate and Moyes but not sure on the others Has poch ever won a trophy outside of France?

Obviously done for 'engagements' or whatever the saying is.

To me, it reads more of 'hot list', ie an order of managers that if a top job had to become available where they would rank in terms of current appeal to that club, as we all know that's very fluid annually.

And even then, there's plenty of debatable takes, which of course is the full point of the article.

Howe is the most egregious ranking there, by sone distance. He’s managing a cheat code club and they are struggling to qualify for the europa

Weird one as it seems to be a mix of current top performance whilst also considering historical performance. Not very consistent.

There's no way Klopp is better than Ancelotti
Klopp could easily have gone to Bayern, PSG or Real Madrid and vultured league titles. Heck just avoiding the machine that is Pep would easily add 6-7 league titles to his CV. Klopp is much better at building a squad from nothing than any coach in history. The guy rejuventated two major dead clubs on a budget by himself and turned his 2nd division hometown team into a Bundesliga stable. He has literally never failed at a club, which is something probably only Pep can claim, who has always worked on the biggest budgets.

Think the top 4 is on point. Real Madrid is incredible but it is not really a "manager team" in the same way City, Liverpool and Leverkusen are. They live off individual class and mentality more than a overarching playing style and tactical nous. Don't know why Emery is 5th over Arteta though. If we are going by this season, Hoeneß should be higher as well. Flying under the radar but Stuttgart's journey since last season is astonishing. If it's not only this season, then Xavi and Tuchel are underrated. Wouldn't blame Tuchel for Bayern's implosion this season, IMO, or Xavi for Barcelona's underwhelming results.
