Forlan

Has had a poor season from what I've heard. Not sure if that's down to form, injuries or being out of favour when Ranieri was there. Maybe a combination of the three. I loved Diego here. Will be a shame to see him leave Europe.

Inter need a striker so badly. The whole club is in a very poor position.

Internacional already had a burgeoning wage bill; this has to mean either one of Oscar or Damiao are going to be sold.

Toronto FC said they were close to signing Forlan and said he could be signed as soon as tomorrow. Forlan has denied the report making TFC look like an even bigger joke than there are.

Unbelievable.

He just got married last week and probably wants to stick around for the rest of the qualifiers and hopefully get into 2014 WC. Going to Toronto doesn't make any sense if you ask me.

He has mentioned recently he would look at MLS or the Far East for his last few years, but don't think that is imminent.

Scored a cracker yesterday

I was giddy with excitement when I first heard the news. Kinda knew it was too too good to be true. TFC needs some good news to reward an extremely loyal fanbase that are screaming for a winner.

In fairness, Forlán did say a few days ago he wouldn't wind up his career with Peñarol in Uruguay as he wasn't willing to put up with the shit he and his kids would have to endure after a bad game. Abreu has had a really bad few months with Nacional where he went from legend to scapegoat.

Two key points there:

1) He mentioned MLS, and Uruguayans have a soft spot for Canada. There's a relatively large Uruguayan contingent in Toronto and everyone who has gone to Canada raves about it. A cousin of mine is good friends with his wife and she moved to Toronto a few years ago, so I can see a link there going forward.

2) He talked about kids, which he currently has none, so he is definitely thinking about playing on for some time!

Don't give up just yet mate, he may pull a Giggsy on you ;)

I hope! We need a match winner here! He would dominate the MLS.

God we need something to bring the fans back. Might even win us a few games.

(He made the Scousers cry! Heh)
