Forlan is a fecking great player

Yes it is...you're following me around again, making no attempt to add to the topic of the thread..

Instead just coming across as being rattled and angry..

Shame

Can't really believe this argument folks, Forlan had 18 first calss games, but how many of those were as sub with only ten mins played..? Also I seem to remember an England striker going some 20-30 games last year without a goal...?

Personally think Forlan is a good player, but he needs a decent run only then can anyone judge objectively if he's 1. A United player or 2. Any good..! I'll reserve judgement a little longer.

Agreed

Hate to say this. But Davo's got a point. People around here always have to turn it into us vs. them, forlan vs. heskey. Why can't people just accept the fact that we are not perfect. Who gives a toss about them?

What's the problem?

OK, so he hasn't scored too many goals. i.e. None apart from two friendlies. And we might need to look at the possibility of buying two more strikers, rather than one.

But Forlan looks very very useful imo. He's quick, he's creative, and he works hard.

There are other things to be done in order for the goals to be scored. And looks to me that Forlan fits the bill there.

Hate to tell you this but Davo simply stole my point

"Forlan can't score bla bla bla weve been through this already youre geting borring.
How long until this becomes a Heskey vs Forlan thread ? "

;)

See??

There you go again..

You all seem to think Heskey's rubbish yet Forlan's a good player...yet you use Heskey as a comparision to no goal Forlan..

As a cheeseburger obsessed Yank would say..

Go figure

Forlan: It's all about confidence. We've seen it so many times down the years with strikers, Andy Cole being the obvious example. Someone mentioned Barros too, he's yet to proove it in the league, but it seems he's 'progressed' as a player.

<a href="https://www.redcafe.net/news/story.php3?id=20020806120858" target="_blank">Forlan: Happy But Needs a Goal</a>

I can't explain what has gone wrong. But it is with me all the time - even when I try to sleep.

"The more I think about it, the harder it becomes."

"I came without anything. I missed my friends, my family and the culture of Uruguay.

"But I have become good friends with Seba Veron and the young players. I am happy here - it's just that I need to start scoring."
<hr></blockquote>

The lad obviously has ability, and his record at his previous club proves that. Fergie has faith in him, which is enough for me.

His performances have been far from disasterous however, he's been unlucky. IMO, he certainly has the potential, its the mental stregnth to overcome this that he needs.

Whether or not Davo has got a point is not the issue

I think it's just that a lot of posters are tired of the constant mockering of everything Man United. If you go to a Liverpool website doing that, you wouldn't last a day..

I guess it's a whole new issue really, one we've been down many times.

And yet none of these are considered when discussing Heskey..

Only goals count

I wasn't doubting his abilites, I don't know enough about him. I just know, the impression he has given pre-season, is much-improved from last season, according to the media anyway.

But I'm only giving my own opinion. Others might not agree with me.

And I've never seriously slagged off Heskey because I don't watch him enough to be constructive. And if he is instrumental in a good prcentage of Liverpool's goals then he serves his purpose.

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

So theres no Liverpool pisstaking now? The whole point is you lot went on and on for months about Heskey, and now the tables are turned and Forlan can't score for feck all your lot defend him in the same way we defended Heskey, and yet Forlan is still great in your eyes, whereas Heskey was shite in his barren spell.

Wasn't it on here someone said Heskey was worth 1/3 million?

How much for Forlan then?

A lot of posters are tired of your constant false "inside information"..thats just the way of the forum

Its simply a case of being able to give out stick to other teams but not being able to take it back..be it in the form of a sensible discussion or banter

I agree. And I made a similar point when those of us who were concerned about Veron got slagged off - I said if Veron was a Liverpool player, the whole of RC would be making taking the piss.

And it's hypocracy to suggest otherwise.

Fair enough..

I agree that Forlan needs to be given more time before he can be fairly judged...but considering his failings to date he is target for banter..simple as that

Is just seems that some on here can't take stick back

Hate to say it, but a lot of United fans are like that. Its the arrogance thing again

Forlan has looked ok from what I have seen, but the fact remains he hasn't scored, full stop.

When Heskey couldn't find the net, Liverpool fans would argue that he worked hard and still added to the team, and didn't give up. We were laughed at and constantly ripped for it.

Now you do the same for Forlan and its a sin to say hes shite.

One set of rules for one.......

But not constantly on a Liverpool forum, we'd be chucked out then

I reckon visitors from other clubs should show some respect and thread a bit more careful than they would on their own club's forum

Banter is good an all, but it's the constant slagging off of all things Man United that pisses me off, i.e. slagging off our manager etc

Just my opinion though

Kinell, you make it out like its just this site.

If its in a light hearted manner who cares?

There are only a few on here who take the piss, and far more of your lot who slag everything Liverpool off, worse than any of us.

Or are you just hinting at certain posters?

I know what you mean. But at the time, it was United supporters refusing to acknowledge that other United supporters had the right to a different opinion. And the point was just made that the United fans who wouldn't hear a word against Veron - admirable as that might be - would have had a field day if Veron had been a Liverpool player, so they were being hypocritical by slagging off the United fans who were concerned.

But thats my point, I don't care, its to be expected, but from that you must expect it back.

God forbid we make an observation on YOUR club and air it here eh?

If I went on to Koptalk and slagged the club and the players, I'd expect whatever I got, and would deserve it.

You're not suggesting it would be different than it is for you lot on here are you???

I've got nothing against that, and I enjoy the banter (hence I'm a regular at YAWN.co.uk)

It's the constant, repetitive, tiresome mockering, and the lack of respect and name calling of e.g. Sir Alex I object to

As I said, if I had gone on like that on YAWN.co.uk, I'd be chucked out immediately. But I respect that I have to thread more carefully when I'm visiting other foras.

Its been done before, and it happens plenty I expect.

Altho i'll admit to be fair that KT is a little less tolerant than here, but thats more to do with the people who run it, maybe they are too closed in themselves.

Lets not turn this into a KT vs RC thread eh? ;)
