These FM experiments really show why FM players can win Champions Leagues with Newcastle or Fiorentina after a few years because the AI is more eccentric than Wenger with team selections

From what I can see, Herzog is just a better player in the game than Rivaldo right now. Rivaldo obviously has a high ceiling, so should be taking over from him as the season goes on.

Ronaldo was not match fit, Henry is just not a top player yet. He is still 18 and it might be a couple of seasons before he starts for you consistently.

Always good to win a derby. The team is as expected even if I thought Koeman would be in the starting 11 instead of Sensini.


As expected, @TheGame is the favorite: Litmanen & Weah were 2 of the top 6 super stars in the year of 1995.

@oneniltothearsenal & @P-Nut0712 had Henry-Ronaldo-Van Basten-Bergkamp on the bench. Henry on the bench isn't surprising: he started to emerge in 97/98.


Some odd choices:

- Keown as the chosen Sweeper in a 3-4-3 system & Herzog the #10
- Worns as a right-back :lol: A pure stopper.
- Pearce RB
- Brehme on the pitch
- Ortega CF
- Hadji #10 instead of Zidane


Some surprising results like @Stobzilla who lost

You don't have a better striker than Fonseca? He was considered as a very promising player but was mainly a back-up at the Juve IIRC

I have 7 or 8 strikers: make a crazy offer if you can.

In 1995/96, Rivaldo wasn't a super star but the last could last 10 years so it's a perfect asset in the long run!

Was Brehme not good in that time ? He is quite good in the game. I know he was old but he did play till 98, winning Bundesliga in the process.
 
Surprised that Bergkamp started on the bench - his stats look awesome

The difference between R9 and Henry despite being a 1 year gap is crazy. Should be at least mid table just due to Ronaldo to be honest.

Nice, will read through this later. Seems my suspicions were right; Desailly in midfield and he plays Boli/Wright in defense. Torricelli over Panucci, though? Hmm. More difficult to be the away team so i'll take a draw in the first game.
