First save with United

Signed Upamecano, Sancho, Fati and Grevenberch!
Just beat Chelsea 8-2

4231 Gegenpress. Fati seems brilliant

Dunno how you can enjoy these things. Both would annoy me and ruin the immersion. Shouldn't be able to sign those so easily and wouldn't win by that scoreline.

The complete lack of ball playing DMs(not Neves, he's a statue) is so frustrating.

On the other hand, Fabian Ruiz was seriously buffed and is probably likely looking my Pogba replacement.

This is half the reason I've always preferred to start off somewhere way down the pyramid and usually feck off most of my real players in favour of newgens asap.

Don't understand how some of you have managed to get all of Sancho, Fati, Upemecano, and Gravenberch? By my calculations from negotiations with the clubs, the total cost would be ~£250m, so not sure how that works, even with installments? Not to mention Covid is simulated quite well and most clubs are reluctant to sell the first season.

Yeah its a bit daft, you couldn't sign all those in 1 window in FM20 at least not the first window anyway.

It's only beta though this wont be my long term save, I guess on full release Fati and Sancho will be harder to sign.

Fati, Sancho and Upamecano we're all around £65m -£70m but all was structured like £35m now and the rest in instalments so they took around £100m from this summers budget. Gravenberch was 21m.

I sold half the squad to get the funds. McTominay, James, Matic, TFM, Williams, Mata, Lingard, Romero, Rojo all out.

Match day takes some getting used to! A lot going on but it definitely gives you a better impression of how the match is going.

Drew my opening game 1 - 1 with Wolves. Got a VAR penalty  but Martial missed it as I'd subbed Bruno. Rashford is injured for 2 months so I had to start Cavani and he was awful.

Why are Leicester the only club in the PL with a real badge?

Also why is it so difficult for them to be able to add these? They can use the club's name, stadium, staff, players, history, etc... but no badges?

How does Bruno look in game? he was ace for me in 20

I'm in for Obafemi on loan, might need to pick up a keeper on a free also. Rooney has defensive midfield listed as his best position but with his shooting and passing I intend to play him further forward with hard work and pace around him.

Watford were the only team with their badge in game last year, not sure if they ask each club individually for permission and most of them say no or what.

Leicester are licensed, rest of the PL clubs aren't. Apparently team names etc. licensing comes from the league but other things like badge/kits comes from the club. Presume most clubs don't seem to care but it would cost too much for SI but we apparently care as even in the downloadable logo packs they've had to stop putting the Utd badge in due to the club cracking down on it.

Oh that was another thing that annoyed me in FM20. You just knew that whenever VAR came up a goal was overturned or a penalty was given.

Yeah you would learn the patterns and know the outcome before it happened. Hopefully different this time round.

Moved my graphics packs over and they seem to work fine. Player image is so small this year though.

I've put the logos in but I'm not putting my face pack in just because I know it will break something

Seems to work alright.

Gotta wait for the DF11 panel skins to come out for them to look normal size wise like last year

The one think I'm really pleased about after playing half a season so far is the fact that the 'focus play' instructions now actually work and are great.

I also think it's clear that decisions, off the ball and anticipation are going to be such key attributes this season with the changes to the ME. Think they said players will re-evaluate their decision in the ME every quarter of a second now. I think these three things I will definitely be looking for in players. Vision too for my more offensive players as they should theoretically be able to see things developing more and adjust and execute a pass or cross etc.

Like I said Ive only played half a season. Roughly 25 competitive games and I'm very happy with the ME so far I think its MUCH improved. It's obviously early and things will get tweaked obviously but I think the 1v1's are much, much better but I've been playing wingers set to 'hit early crosses' so I've not had much experience yet with players squaring chances but I've definitely seen it happen. Notably in the City win I had which I posted a screen of earlier.

I can't think of a lot of things that I don't really like right now. The skin isn't ideal and the new match UI is taking some getting used to but I'm okay with it in general. The removal of percentages I also like becasuse it's better, more realistic representation of things rather than just a arbitrary number.

Haven't done tonnes of transfers like some of you so can't comment too much on those but I though they we're fairly sensible and similar for the AI transfers that I've seen. I've certainly not seen one and thought WTF.

As for my actual save II didn't really mean to start as United but I loaded up with them just to see some player attributes and just went with it. Been going very well.

Just been playing a fairly basic 4-1-2-3 which I've got excellent results from. Injuries have forced a change of shape once or twice because the schedule is insane the first season and I've been picking up knocks all the time but I think it's purely the sheer intensity of games.

Ah that's fair, didn't realise you sold players like Williams, McTominay etc. Makes a bit more sense now!

Martial out injured for 3 months ffs. Telles out for a month, and Rashford for a month.

Meanwhile my players are also complaining that training isn't heavy enough.

I've done pretty well with injuries so far!

If you buy the full game on steam, can you play the touch version on IPhone without buying again?

Here's the tactic I've been playing.

Anyone else think it's much easier to offload players close to their asking price compared to last years game? On a couple saves now, getting offers for loans and transfers a lot more now.

No' I've really struggles. Partly because I got the transfer bug though.

This can only be good. Used to get so pissed off trying to sell a £20m player and not even getting offers when I asked for 1m.

I would't do match practice anywhere near games. Might have something to do with it.

I'll move it earlier in the week and see if it makes any difference. I also left Pre-season to Phelan so he might've not rotated great.

,Liverpool played 10 won 10 and pulled well clear of me in second. Bastards.

Yep, in both my United and Parma saves I've managed to sell off almost all the players I've wanted to, and when signing youngsters, I manage to find them loans the next day.
