Gaming Football Manager 2014

Its hilarious when a club comes in to offer you talks. I always go to the meeting even when I have no intention of leaving. The board then shit their pants and are willing to agree to anything I might ask for only for me to say I dont want any changes and am happy to stay

Oh and I finished 4th. Was level on points with Schalke with them having the superior GD going into the final game. They drew but I lost 3-1 :(. Amazing season though, was expecting a mid table finish at best.

Lets get him back, clearly didn't have enough of a chance here.

The amazing thing is how he's going it. Evans and Smalling at CB. Rafael and Evra FBs. De Gea in goal. Fellaini and Carrick in CM. Hernandez striker. Kagawa left wing. Lacazette and 1 other guy as the other attackers.

I always ask for more transfer money, even if I don't need/want it. Might as well take the opportunity when it comes.

I figure there are plenty of times you come cap in hand desperate and the board tell you to do one, may as well bleed them a little when opportunity comes a knocking.

I reached a point in my Utd save where I had £200m to spend a year. I had no use for it, and I was fed up of Messi constantly winning WPOTY instead of my players, so I bought him off Barca for £150m and stuck him in my reserves.

I also regularly fined him two weeks wages for no reason, set his training regime to a center back, criticized his development etc.

thundercnut

Yeah I know. Specially at a small club, quite often a ridiculous player becomes available and you cant get him because you dont have even the paltry sum available.

Just had an interview at City where they asked me if I'd be okay with a transfer budget of 134mil

Any ideas of a new game to start that'd be interesting? That United one I started after my West Ham one corrupted was too easy.

I always like to challenge myself, I started with FC Paris 2000 a semi pro team in the national league of france. I want to give PSG a decent rival :D

It's quite rewarding building a small team up into a heavyweight giant!.

I used Red Star Paris.

Looks like a low club in a foreign league is the way to go.

Interesting you've mentioned him. Just signed him for free, end of contract, will join next year. Promising.

Yeah in my game he has left River Plate also on a free transfer but like I said I wasn't really aware of the lad until this season started and I brought in an Argentine scout who recommended him. When I saw his attributes I couldn't believe the lad wasn't already playing at a big club and was also quite cheap.

Did you start with no prior experience? Not set to international footballer.

I have stepped down at Valencia and got a job at Espanyol six months later. They have been abysmal in the league so far, significant rebuilding job on my hands.

I had no clue about him either tbh. A scout referred him to me. Cant wait to see him play.

Anyone got any tips for setting up a team to be really hard to break down whilst also providing a threat on the counter/with the ball? Thinking of playing a 4-2-1-2-1 with 2 DMs, 1 CM, 2 wingers and a striker.

Drop the wingers to WM positions, and they'll work much harder defensively, but still attack plenty.
Make them Defensive Wingers and they'll press the opposing fullbacks to hell, and whip in quick crosses.

Another formation worth trying is 3-2-2-1-2 like this.

ST---ST
AM
WM------------WM
DM---DM
CB---CB---CB
Make one of the DM's a Regista.

Some of the shouts can be vital too, Stay On Feet makes you much more solid defensively(I use it almost all the time), as your players won't dive into tackles much, and miss them, leaving an opponent to run past easily.

I love when you play with a new tactic purely because of fitness levels and a "what the hell" mindset and end up smashing a team. Beat Reading 7-1 in the COC.

The only bad thing was that 6 were in the first half. If you score a lot in one half you're almost guaranteed to score next to nothing in the other.

Bored of this ASSE save, stopped playing the other day, done fecked up and used the Genie Scout on it, shouldn't have.

RB Leipzig has been well overdue, loading up a classic save on PC now, as it's easier to set up, shifting to Vita once I'm done.

I did about 3 months of a Santos save, just chucked Gabriel Barbosa and Victor Andrade into the first team, and was in 4th place despite a huge injury list. I thought it was weird that in this time there'd been no saves so I decided to save it and it wouldn't let me. I tried overwriting other saves, saving to the cloud and basically everything else possible but to no avail. Pah.

Got bored of my United game. I'll put it on hold for now and try something new. I've simmed a first season without a team (I hate doing the first season, very repititive once its been done once), and now i'm looking at my options. I don't want anything too challenging just yet as i'm not great.

The one that stands is a relegated Southampton, with pretty much the entire first team transfer listed by request. What say the Caf?

You'l struggle to hold on to them but even if you manage to keep 2-3 of the top talents, with the huge transfer fee you'l rake in, it'l be good fun to play.

Already got £16m for Osvaldo from Juventus and Vidic in on a free. This will be fun. If I can keep Shaw and one or two others I'll be happy.

Shaw and Ward Prowse. Try your utmost to hang onto these 2 even if the likes of Clyne go. Hanging on to Ramirez would be great but he goes for top money anyways and plenty of top AMs in the game so not really a problem.

Shaw and JWP are the vital ones, but I'd try to keep Clyne too.

AMC's are everywhere, exactly like good full backs aren't.

If you can't keep Clyne though, Chambers has plenty of potential, and is likely plenty good enough for the Championship. I used to rotate him in the Premiership from season 2 anyway.

fecking seething.

Was about to start 4th season at Leibzig. My OS was acting totally weird so I reinstalled it. Made backups of my saves. Now that I switch it on, everything's fine but every player is on 1.6-1.7 times the wage they were on. Total wage has gone 1.6 times too. fecking seething. Had an absolutely great team setup at a very low cost with the highest earning players(2 of them) at 34500p/w. Now they're on 61k. WTF

That cannot happen? Are you sure that the wages are in pounds instead of dollars?

Yes it was. Thanks :P
Cheers! It has dollar by default which is kind of strange considering that Sports Interactive are British and I think that it is more sold on Europe rather than US.

Thank feck. I took pride in assembling the team I had for cheap, was thinking of resigning and simply moving on :D

And yes, I agree, having it dollar by default makes no sense.
