Football Manager 2008

I always buy them. Then again, I haven't got the computer skills to download it illegally. I wouldn't have the faintest clue how to do it. It's easier buying it for me.

It might be easier to buy it, that is true, but buying FM games is beyond me. It isn't worth buying, but it is very much worth playing it thanks to everyone who upload it on the internet.

Just found something interesting that might keep some of you interested till 2009 (might even have been posted before, but feck looking through 21 pages.)

Basically, it's a 92/93 season database for the game. It's far from perfect, and there's a lot missing, but it's definitely playable, especially if you only intend on being top division teams.

I've just managed to sign Keano, Zidane, and Figo for United, and i'm also waiting on contract offers from Stam and Rivaldo.

Something just doesn't feel right about me signing Ballack and Henry at 15 either. It's definitely fun though, link is below, even if it'll only be fun for a while.

will it erase the current data already saved?

No. You select the specific database from the list when you start a new game, just like you would with any other update. It won't overwrite any save games or original data or anything like that assuming you install it right.

In other news, i just signed Batistuta for £15 million

My team are already amazing. I've sent 20 year old Zidane out on loan for a year. Hughes has scored about 10 in 4 games, with Rivaldo and Scholes scoring a couple as well.

Nice find, definatly worth playing until the new one arrives. The thing about FM for me is if you play it too much its gets boring an I constantly keep restarting or I dont play for ages and then come back to it and start a new game anyway.

This is fun. Shame I cant find Ronaldo for some reason.

Most of the stats of the young players are a bit messed up though. For instance Roberto Carlos' long shots are at 6 while Giggs' highest stat is his long throws at 17.

Still thanks. This should keep me occupied for some time.

Always been an underrated parts of Giggsy's game, his long throws

Just had thriller v Blackburn, Becks 60 minute sub aswell!

Tried to download it and I got all this shit about paying for Rapidshare and shite like that? What's that about? I'm no use at computers. Is there any way to download it without all that crap?

Yep on the rapidshare page just click the free option. Then a timer should start upon which your download will begin.

I'll try that, cheers. As I said before though I am useless at computers and cannot use WinZip. I've downloaded a load of Commodore 64 games in zip files but still don't know how to play them!

Yea I downloaded that. But again it comes in a zip file and although I have winzip, I don't know how to open it. I put it in theFM folder and it didn't work. I'm just a computer retard.

I created a new database for it and it wouldn't load. When I even tried to load it in editor it crashed. Then I deleted a database and copied that one in, the game will load but it crashes saying there is not enough memory.

What version of Football Manager are you running?

Load up any game and it will be on the starting page, or Options > Game Detail.

2008. I've deleted everything and am going to try downloading it again. It's in the process of doing it now.

Do you see an option of the 92 database when you choose to start a new game?

No that's not there. That's the problem. It is contained C:\Documents and Settings\Wes Kenny\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\db but when I load up a new game, it's not there.

In the db folder there should be another file called WORLD 1992.
