Five movies that you really enjoyed

There's this beautiful scene at the end of Blades of Glory where Will Ferrel and the other fecker just hold each others hands and fly away... like two gay birds. And I mean birds not females.

5. The Truman Show. (Still Carrey's finest work.)

I reckon Man on the Moon is Carrey's best film. Makes you realise that he can play more than just one character and is actually a good actor.

I must watch Prestige, finally... People say it's a good one.

It's goodish.

It was quality. Depends what you're into, I suppose, but it's one of those films that's very hard to criticise, IMO: it's gripping, it has twists, it's very well acted and has an excellent and fairly original plot (although I'm told the Illusionist is very similar, and is also very good).

Saw it ages ago. It had a few plot holes. Good watch, but nothing more.

(The fact that I can recall much of it, seals it for me)

1. Pulp Fiction
2. The Shawshank Redemption
3. The Good the Bad and the Ugly
4. The Usual Suspects
5. Leon / A Clockwork Orange

Ghost Dog:Way of the Samurai
Out of Time (A Denzel Washington classic)
Onmyogi
Top Secret
Lone Wolf and Cub - Baby Cart in the Land of Demons

Last year my dad and I watched those exact same three movies, and they were wicked. Are there any other Westerns similar to those?

Django, C'era una volta il West (aka Once Upon a time in the West, another Sergio's masterpiece), The five man army, and All the Way Trinity (some really funny scenes yet still a classic spaghetti western).

I love sphaghetti westerns. The ones in bold are a must watch.

noone has mentioned the matrix!
the fukin matrix!
what about the matrix!

( the first one obviously )

Jaws
City of God
Cinema Paradiso
Flight of the Phoenix ( original Jimmy Stewart version)
Training Day

Requiem For A Dream
Shaun Of The Dead
Babam ve Oglum
American History X
The Matrix

Old School
40 Year Old Virgin
Godfather I & II
Bourne Films
Last King of Scotland
Pirates of the Caribbean Films
Wedding Crashers
Goodfellas
Scarface
The Departed
The Good Shephard (thought it was ok)
Blood Diamond
Hitch....
Pursuit of Happyness

Quite a few there

I hate movies such as Wedding Crashers, they're boring and not really that funny. Who here rates memento? It was a very unusual movie but well crafted I thought, the ending was pretty cool as well

You still haven't see Following, I bet.

Brilliant film, probably his best.

No, I would have the time if I was an emo film buff like you, though.

Same, great movie. Anybody seen the illusionist, is it as good?

The Prestige is a Mercedes Benz, The Illusionist is an old Renault 5.

28 Weeks Later
Super Troopers
Robocop
Donnie Brasco
Old Boy

1, Blood Diamond
2, Matrix
3, Pirates of the Carabean (first one)
4, Transformers
5, Simpsons (purly for spider pig which is one of the most ingenious peices of comedy ever written)

thought the opposite tbh, tho i am aware im a minority. But i felt prestige had no soul, no intrigue or suspence and a pretty weak story line and even weaker twist.

Illusionist was overall a much better film in my opinion

Jesus wept. The Illusionist is wafer thin. Prestige is full of intrigue, there is no real 'twist' in The Prestige, it's all about the bit of dialogue that Michael Caine's character says at the begining and the end.

Ban this film buff.

The scene where he broke his back was so tragic.:(

But the kissing scenes...
