Gaming Final Fantasy XVI (PS5)

Being a Final Fantasy crack head and seeing people talking like this could be a return to form I just bought a PS5 with this bundled and it's coming tomorrow...

I need help

Boom. There's no better time for you to grab one then mate. feck the haters innit.

I found this to be quite spoiler-heavy. Not that its giving away the end of the game or anything, but there's enough in there that I'm annoyed I skimmed it.

I used to like eurogamer years ago but it's hard to stomach nowadays.
I only read the final paragraph and he seems to critique the game because it’s not what he wants it to be, rather than critique it on the basis of what it is.

But yeah, Eurogamer are shite.

The reviews are excellent, but the performance mode looks rough. I think I'm going to hold off and wait for them to fix that up a bit. It holds 60 in combat, but drops a lot outside of it.

Ordered mine from Currys for £70 - today dropped the price to £60

Nipped to the store (Currys) got the last copy, returning the other one which is being delivered by RMail probably tomorrow (Fri).

Saved Demo lets you skip to parts you've already done - so don't delete the save game data.

Probably even better for people like me who generally aren’t fans of the series. The action oriented nature of the game sounds like the perfect combination for me to enjoy the series.

Played a little bit at midnight and just really enjoyed it. Motion blur is not ideal but what I have played I think I am going to really enjoy it.

I'm loving it so far, but Japanese developers should be forbidden to have side quests in their games at this point.

Apparently they get much better later on in the game. But yeah those side quests suck.
They do actually provide a bit of world building and lore, which I suppose is nice, but how a game in 2023 still has a, please bring me some wood from the npc in the other room quest is beyond me.

I don't care though, loving this game.

It sounds like it's too late, especially for playing today but Currys have a code FF20 to get 20% off the game. It made it £55.99 when applied.

It did, that ended Tuesday at midnight. I tried to get it, but it wouldn't allow the payment at the time.

So much leather.

Feel like I should put my leather chaps to really get into it.

I did the same thing with Zelda - preordered it on Amazon for £60 when it was £50 everywhere on release, including the Curry's store 10 minutes down the road. Was well miffed by that.

Moved on another 3 hours from my demo save this morning. Really impressed with the game and the story is quite gripping already.

Not thrilled to see the main story is only 30 hours long. I expect longer in my JRPG's but let's see.

Only past the first hour so far and I'm loving it. Very Game of Thrones type feel to it. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

I’m enjoying it but the motion blur stuff is giving me a headache sadly. :(

Enjoying it so far but some of the voice acting comes across a little bit Monty Python at times.
