What's with players standing still until the ball reaches them? It's basic football to receive the ball asap
 
I hate this game sometimes.

Every single time I get near goal he fouled me, and the spastic cnut of a ref only sent off one player, booked another and the rest were just free-kicks, nothing more. He was one of the worst players I've ever played. I was Croatia and he was Brazil, he scored on the counter after knocking the ball over while my defender stood and watched for a while to lose ground.

Always feels like this game lets the wankers win.
 
Not been near the caf in two weeks.

Solius - I changed formation completely, gone with 4-4-2 now so if you have any decent 4-4-2 left midfielders (pref English or German) or Left backs (pref English, Spanish or Itallian) then there is a Carlos Tevez waiting for you.

If I want good chemistry I stick Carrick and Essien in midfield. Myself and Agbonlahor upfront, Miguel RB and Richards CB.

Get's it up to roughly 45/50 I think.

make your players go towards the ball even before they receive it..works for me most of the time when I want to keep possession I've passed it to strikers who've got their back towards goal..

At the same time also helps me intercept passes from the opposition when they try to pass it to their strikers with their players WAITING for the ball as opposed to going towards it..
 
I have a serious problem. Can't seem to get FIFA working on my PS3. I start the PS3 with the game inside... The Sony Entertainment menu pops up and automatically continue to enter the game, from then on it's all black. Can't see a thing.

Ok maybe a tiny bit below that. You're bending it in so the distance covered is enough to get just beyond the penalty spot.
 
For those of you who have a working FIFA 09. How is the latet update of our squad, would especially like to know the current stat for Macheda :D

Never seems to be anything other than that. Luck is way against me tonight, hit the post twice after some brilliant play with Lyon and dominated first half, he gets this shitty corner goal and starts acting cocky. Game always helps the wankers.

I had 12 shots on goal saved once, ended up losing 1-0 and my 14 game streak being broken :(

I'm exactly the same way, winning streak or losing streak. So much of this game is about momentum. Often after something like what you described happens, I tend to fold over a bit too easy. Start closing down too much, leaving gaps in defence etc.

I'm pretty certain there is some kind of hidden momentum system in the game which gives one team the majority of the 50/50's and such. I've been on the good and bad end of it.

I just won 6 - 1 which has hopefully started a winning streak.

I think we're the same person. Yesterday I won 7 matches in a row and was completely destroying my opponents. Every pass I made seem to split the open. Today I can't put fecking two passes together.
 
Last night i got to the final of the first online cup only to be dicked. I had 55% possession far more shots rsulting in about 10 corners, Yaya toure in the game before blasted a volley into the top corner from 18 yards, this game he missed one from 2 yards out with an open goal. I lost 2-1 he had like 2 shots on target.

I play a 4312

Was hoping for Arshavin and got him last night and statted him up. He's an animal. He has wicked acceleration so speed cards make him one of the quickest players in the game. I have Asrhavin and Van Persie rotating in the CF position.
 
How can some cnut report me for "tampering with the game" because I beat him with a shit team?

I started a Be A Pro Season with Macheda, because I wanted to see how well I could do. Can I get him up to Ronaldos level
 
I've really got the hang of crossing on here. I used to hardly ever cross because I thought it was a shit system and there was no point to it.

Now though I'm playing balls into the perfect area and it's just a matter of placing my header left or right of the goalie. Really refreshing when you score different types of goals for once.
 
Online gaming would be great of it wasn't for other fecking people. I'm sick of the way people cheat in this game, it completely ruins a great game.

Just played some guy called UAE Tiger or something, he picked some shit side so i picked a side that were equal in stars, because im not a cnut. Anyway we get a few mins in and then he scores, the scorer - Torres. Then when i actually started taking notice of his team he had Torres, Rooney, Ronaldo and Cech.

Anyway he beat me 4-2 and after i checked his player hub thing and he was ranked 93rd. No surprise seeing as most people he plays select shit teams thinking he's a shit team too then he has that lot.

fecking cheating prick.
 
Online is full of cheating cnuts. Then you switch to offline mode and realise the AI is also cheating the hell out of you.

Such a frustrating game. Both '08 and '09 have resulted in me smashing my PS3 pads of the wall. Luckily they still work, one has something rattling inside though.
 
It is a very frustrating game at times. Over the years of FIFA I have learnt to just stop playing and do something else when I have one of those out of luck days or people cheat.

I won 8 - 1 but he was surprisingly complimentary.
