It's hard for me to be very helpful without having seen you play. You should upload a video of you playing and I could definitely help you a lot from watching that.@Macern @Eddy_JukeZ
You to seem to be the 'professionals' on here so lets talk.
When it comes to this Fifa, since the patch, I am really struggling. Playing SB on Professional, which I was winning 4/5-0 regular, has turned into 1/2-0 grinds.
On a match to match basis, is their anythings you do, maybe not even so obvious, that have you winning most of your matches.
I watched some of Ovvy's videos, and before the patch, I almost perfected that drag back move. Since the patch though, even AI defenders, give you zero room to manoeuvre in. I almost feel like the only way to play this game now is to literally hold LB (L1) and x and pass it around sending all your players charging forward in the hope that one of them gets into some clean space. You can't hold onto the ball, you can't dribble.
An example of something I'd like is, when I get the ball up to my striker, about 20-30yrds from goal, the only options I have available is to pass the ball straight back into midfield. If I try and turn left, right oh backwards, with the defenders hugging me, I just lost the ball.
Any tips, I think a few on here would be really appreciative
You say you struggle against the CPU but do how do you do against online opponents? I personally don't play much against the CPU. I think @Burrow managed to trash them on legendary by doing the same move over and over again. I usually beat them comfortably on legendary as well, but I play pretty much in the same way as I do against online opponents.
Skill moves rarely work against the CPU. They just don't get fooled by it. I never use for instance drag backs against them. It's because they react instantly to everything.
Which formation are you using? I use the 4-1-2-1-2(2) and I generally try to pass my way up to the strikers and then try to dribble and pass my way into shooting opportunities.
This is the shooting positions I try to get my players into. I score most of my goals by shooting from these areas. Red area is for right footed players and black area is for left footed players. If I'm in a shooting position outside the box I always go for a high finesse shot aimed at the far top corner. If I'm closer to the goal I go for a driven (low) finesse shot. Having players with high finishing is absolutely key.
In some cases it's best to go for regular driven shots (the ones that were so popular in FIFA 17)
If you're in the blue circle with a right footed player you should go for a regular driven shot. The same goes for a left footed player in the opposite side of the box.
Note: Players with 4 star weak foot will be able to perform driven shots and driven finishes with their wrong foot ~just as good as with their right foot. Though high finishes from outside the box rarely work (unless they have very high finishing, and even then I'm not sure).
Last but not least, a great way to score goals is to try and dribble your way into the yellow area below
I score so many goals by dribbling into these areas and then passing to a player in front of the goal or on the back post. If you manage to get into these areas you will most likely find a free player in front of the goal that you can pass to and do a simple tap in.
These tips should help you with scoring more goals. As for defending I'd have to see some gameplay of you before I can provide any tips.
