It's likely his price will drop anyway. Last year the Jesus OTW was going for stupid prices in anticipation of him getting a TOTW card. As soon as the card actually hit his OTW card price dropped massively.

A pace whore is someone who doesn't do much besides attempting to exploit pace. I don't play like that, although I like to have quick players. You haven't even played against me nor have you seen me play so I don't get how you can call me a pacewhore.
Real life players who rely heavily on their mental attributes i.e Müller generally don't do as well in FIFA as in real life due to the fact that you control the players yourself in FIFA. Falcao lacks pace, height, strength, dribbling and more. He's not good as a target man, both in the air and on the ground, because he's inferior to so many strikers when it comes to shielding the ball, dribbling to create angles and passing to others. You can't play the ball in space ahead of him because he's slower and weaker than pretty much every center back you're up against in Ultimate Team. The only thing I can see him doing reasonably well is scoring tap-ins. He isn't even a good target for crosses because his heading is nerfed down to 80 and like I said he lacks height. His 92 jumping doesn't really help when he's 177cm / 5'10" tall and quite weak. His finishing is pretty good, but it's a nightmare to get him into scoring positions compared to say Rashford.
The American CB pairing you love says otherwise. Falcao will eat them alive!
Mate, they're there to counter pacewhores. It's an anti-pacewhore pairing. Anyway I don't have them myself, but they're two brilliant CB's for their value. If I didn't have the coins to affort Bailly and Van Dijk I'd have them myself.

Berahino has been an absolute beast so far though. Playing a 442 with him up top and Sinclair on the LM spot has been a nice way to hit teams on the counter. Every game still a goal fest so far though regardless of my poor attempts at defense

For people doing drafts, are you getting a decent icon every time?
Played it three times, the 2nd and 3rd time I got 86 Shevchenko, 88 LB Maldini, 88 Roberto Carlos, and 90 Nesta. Nesta by far the best defender I've used, unsurprisingly.
Got Van Basten once, Yashin once and Schmeichel once. Van Basten was meh, goalkeepers I didn't notice too much.

That front 3 is monstrous. Belotti is an animal, Icardi a lethal poacher, and Papu Gomez pops up everywhere. Might get the new IF Brozovic over Zielinski dependent on price.

I feel the more I play this game, the worse I get
I really don't understand how this game works at times. I buy Matic and Wanyama because I want them to sit back and protect the defence. Both have high defensive work rates. Individually, I tell them to stay back on attacks also.... Do they do it, nope.
This is why I gave up on the last two Fifa's. What I really don't understand is why when I attack, my whole team joins in and when I lose the ball. Pass, Pass, pass and they are through on goal because I have hardly anybody back.
I could complain about another 100 things I am doing wrong but oh well!

Got the same front 3, gomez' dribbling is unreal. The other two are slightly lumpish but they just finish everything, belotti particularly seems to score every time he swings his boot.

Yeah, ideally at some point I'd want to replace one of the two with Dybala or Mertens but they're far too expensive at the minute.
Do you have Koulibaly? He's easily the best CB I've used thus far.
I've had the same problem. Can't figure it out either. Everytime I turn the ball over my defence is on the half way line and fully exposed
Manolas and Benatia, will get Koulibaly I think for Benatia but no rush on that one.
Think I'm going to get Insigne and Cuadrado for LF RF and mix up with 4321.

I'm going for Serie A as my main squad too, haven't spent too much on it yet but I've got 100k burning a hole in my (virtual) pocket. I'd recommend Schick if you're not worried about his weak foot, absolute rocket of a left foot and he has decent dribbling and 4* skills too for 400 coins.
I've got about 11k or so, could I build a decent Serie A team with that or just keep plugging away for now to earn more first?

I reckon you might be able to squeeze that out with a bit more than 11k. Probably around 15kish. It's nothing amazing but Eder, Zielinski and Suso look real good value for money. Alternative players in positions on the bench.
15-20k should get you a really solid team, the likes of Donnarumma and De Rossi are only 2-3k and there's a wealth of great cheap options in basically every position.
If you want to make easy money, just buy a bunch of the 400 bronze packs and list all the players (mostly for 150 start and 200 BIN, but check the other transfers because a bunch go for over 1000 randomly). Pretty much fill up your transfer list with them. Worked great last year, and I just tried it now and went from 38k to 47k from 1 round of sales (you keep relisting everyone for whatever you put even if they don't get sold right away). Even when buying the packs I wouldn't ever really go too far down as a lot get bought instantly so you can fill up your transfer list without going more then probably 2k what you started with. And I only filled up half of my transfer list with them.. So it's a really quick and easy way to get coins quickly. Do that a few times and you could probably push 40k with a bit of luck and then make a solid team.
I know a few eyes might roll considering its early and coinage is tight, but do whatever you can to get Pogba.

My dream bpl midfield before IFs is Pogba, Kante and Gueye. I don't see how I'd ever get beat with that midfield
Yeah I tried his loan card a few times, he's class. Aim to get him in the next month.
Fat chance of me getting him right now. However after I finally get Griezzy I'll start saving for him. I have a bbva team right now but going to turn that into a solid French team when I have more coins. Varane, Pogba, Martial, Mbappe and Griezmann. One can only dream!

Also, in my opinion, Martial is super underwhelming. Maybe it's just me and I'm not using him right, but if it wasn't for his chem limk with Pogba and Griezmann I'd of probably cashed in. Luckily I packed him as there is no way I'd pay 60-70k for him.
Sturridge is realistic in this. Largely garbage but pops up with a decent finish now and again to remind you he's alive.
It's strange I feel like wingers and strikers have been nerfed but attacking is so overpowered. Martials close control on last year's edition made him unplayable, this year he just feels like a standard winger
Weird. Martials outperforming Mbappe for me though theyre really similar. Not using Martial as a winger though. One of the players who is a lock into my side all the way through unless its for an in form (others being Bailly, Valencia and then Dembele and Mbappe unless I switch leagues).
Dembeles dribbling is something else. He changes direction so quickly!
