FIFA 12 XBOX 360 tournament

Missed a penalty but didn't have many more clear cut chances. UB missed a couple of sitters so I'm a little lucky to have won
 
Still pissed I choose Liverpool. Had to use spurs and I really didn't want to. but thought there is no point saving them for later on if i'm not even in it.
 
I've exhausted all my usual 4.5 star teams trying to get through after my horror start. I am grateful I've made it to the knock out stage though
 
It's only 3 till the final and there is still some good teams available but Spurs was going to be my final team if I got there! I thought I was heading home against Liam though, he went 1-0 just before half time.
 
probably could have competed more if it wasn't for that lag issue I had. I recall hitting the post a few times in the matches, one of them, hit the post rolled across the line and out for a throw also A few easy 1v1 chances, only to be taken away by the lag.

I usually pride myself on my defence skills and can be clinical in front of goal, but guess i am not used to playing with 4 star teams compared to united
 
I've been waiting on my group a while, don't really want to play my remaining phase 2 games until I know the result of the last p1 game.

As it stands ill go through from the default draws but I'd rather top the points
 
Red Mist, I thought you told us you sucked and you ended up qualifying. I see you play your mind games even for this.

To be fair, over the last week or so my defending has improved 10 fold. That 8-1 result really shook me. If you also look at my results, all my wins were by a 1 goal margin hence the -5 goal dfifference

Dale done well first half. Hit the post early on before slotting away a good goal with Neymar. I had a good passing game going but I created nothing. 2nd half I came more into it and created alot more when I brought Cavani on. I got lucky eventually and got a peno for a late tackle after I shot wide. I kept missing a few chances and I scored a header in the 90th minute. I got another peno then after I tried using Cavani's strength to burst a way through.

A good game so it was. Uruguays lack of a holding defensive midfield left me open at times too, Neymar caused me problems at times.
 
I'm through as group winner for Group D. Dale has to win his last 2 games to get 2nd place, otherwise Cling is through as runner-up.

Good game that. Was two up after 8 minutes luckily. Dale had his chances, couldn't take them tho! Hit the post, then got the rebound, then hit the post with the rebound. Proper unlucky that.

In the end, he couldn't hold off Lavezzi any longer ;)

Wow, what a finish to group B! Great going guys, well fought out. Must say it looks, on paper, a strong bunch. Even UnitedBoy only lost marginally each time.

Liam was a strong player, unfortunate not to go through. He may well have done in another group.

Looks like group C has a lot of games left to play. Smores looking comfortable in 1st place but 2nd place is up for grabs with all teams able to qualify.

Do I have to play if I'm available and someone else from my group is? The only reason I ask is as previously stated, the result of the remaining phase 1 game will decide whether I risk playing as shit teams in my remaining fixtures.

Cling Bak, if you call that P1 fixture a draw Ill play my games today before or after the football. Looks like I'll hopefully be playing you next round actually!! :devil:
 
Group C is still interesting actually, still could go either way. Hope all try to play their games today!

It really is the best chance for me as I'm out tomorrow and I have football tonight at 9.15pm.

I won't be home till like 6pm PST which is around past midnight for you Brits. So I don't know if you will be up.

I think the end of today is the furthest I can stretch, here.

There are several games remaining so waiting longer for all of them could be problematic.

I'm more concerned that the lack of games from the group winner/runner-up in group C might not bode well for their quarter finals...
