FIFA 11 New RedCafe League - PS3

I've been holding off until Sarni has the time to update things a bit, don't want to add to a back log.

Good game mate, close fought. Very sloppy play by me for your first goal, class 2nd and 3rd by you. Got quite stretched in the 2nd half. Thought I had it at 2-2 when Lennon scored.:lol:

Kept me on my toes, didn't feel relaxed about the match before Robinho made it 3 right at the death. Was annoyed with how I played straight into your hands to allow you your goal, but I suppose a clean sheet would've been harsh on you. That Lennon overhead kick was a clear offside, but I was worried for half a second before I saw the linesman had stopped :lol:

Felt my third was lucky, I just made the right run with Robinho to regain the ball from your goalie's throw. And Zlatan's 37 yard free kick for my second was a bit of a hit and hope :lol:

That was a classy freekick, one of the best scored against me since I've been playing. Good third goal as well. Thought Gomes could have done a bit better for the first one although he produced a number of saves to keep me in it.

I thought you might be raging a bit as me goalie was holding things comfortable, then I counter and get a cross in and Gomes tips a comfortable floated cross over, but yeah he generally did well... Had a few attempts at curling it into the top corner that he did well to keep out.

It's a tough league this, think you've got a good shot at winning, alot of class players, only 1 win in 8 for me.

Dubious but I'm off to a good start, cheers :) Wayne_Rooney looks a world beater, and 20le_Solskjaer has beat me like a ginger step-child before, MarceloFalcon's easily shown me up in the past league as well... I think I'm in the second from the top tier as far as Caftards go.

But you never know ;D

1 in 8... tough league indeed... Take heart, though... I was being beat by most teams last round... Even in games where I felt I had the edge, or where I had 2 goal cushions, all of a sudden I'd lose me bottle. It's a fickle game.

On a different day you might've had me... It was made all the easier when I managed to edge in an early goal to gain the initiative.

I find it hard to dominate other players, find myself defending most of the time and then getting a few shots on goal. Maybe I'm playing the wrong formation. Ironically my only win is against MarceloFalcon, don't know how I managed it, was very lucky, smash and grab.
 
Play on people, it's still very much on. I will be able to play a few games tomorrow, and when I finally file my paperwork for bachelor degree on Wednesday I will get the tables done. PLAAAAAAY.

Last time I played him I struggled to even get close to the ball... I needed a flawless counter if I was going to score. And that's how it's gone for me against the best of players on here. Scrambling and making a name for myself in defence, and then countering, failing to hold on to the ball much.

Possession folks always feck me up... I'm big on fluent play with little sideways passing... Break-downs and counters.

I usually do better against players if I'm allowed a few games to get used to their style, and trying to suss their weaknesses. Not to mention when I get to use a handful of teams over and over again, rather than having to get used to playing with different strengths and weaknesses... How I've notched 3 in 3 is beyond me.

It's a funny old game.

I'm far from a world beater Eriku, but thanks, I'll take it as a compliment! :lol:

I've had a fair bit of luck in this league. I think I've won 3 games by last minute goals, and rescued a point against UF101 through a lucky equalizer. Ironically in the only game I lost, I felt I played better and didn't deserve to.

The only qualm I have against assisted games like this, is that it's 60% skill and 40% CPU in my experience. It helps if you're a better player, but a fair bit of the time the CPU and AI determine whether you will score or not, or whether your defenders won't spaz out. Manual avoids these problems but it does make the game harder. It is more rewarding though.
 
Yep Wayne's definitely up there with the quality players in this league. ba2992 also seems a quality player, had a very tough game against him. It was like getting the ball off Barcelona.
 
Hijacking this thread slightly, anyone interested in playing in a fairly active up to now club. We lost a load of active players for some unknown reason.
 
I'd be up for it. But ideally, anyone who commits to play should really make sure he'll be available to play some matches over 2-4 weeks.
 
I am, could I suggest that we actually have a fixtures list if we want to revive this. Along the lines of 3 matches a week or something. Way it is now its a case of whoever is on you play and then you might get the rest online at some stage
